Re: Pads1161 #bracelethunting

Weird Sunday.

I played really, really good for the first 5 hours then made a huge mistake. It was the last hand of day 1 on SCOOP.fr I opened KTo UTG, btn 3bet me off a huge stack. I was around 10/120. I 4bet as it was a great spot to 3bet for him but thought he'd calm down after I 4bet. But no he instantly click 5bet and I didn't even think, I just said **** this guy and went all in and he had aces. Lots of times I may say **** this guy etc but generally whatever I'm doing I have very good reason.

Throughout the session I had lots of deep cashes, cashed 3 SCOOPs, lots of turbos etc. Ended up coming 3rd in the Brawl for around 15k with bounties etc, felt good to get a decent winning Sunday relatively early into the session.

My last tournament was the 100r, I was in the money and played a hand where I tried to be too tricky.

MP opened, JDTJ peeled co and I peeled bb with Ah9c, flop was 8h8c4h and mp bet and jt called. I called with mischieveious plans. The turn was the 884hhx2 and it checked to JT this time who bet 11k, I c/r to 24k to put him in a very awkward spot with around 30k left. He called. The river was the 9h and I just basically instantly jammed. I had rivered top pair now, was I bluffing? Was I value betting? Was it a merge? wtf was it? He actually had KQhh and ironically I was ahead the whole way. Was just frustrated I didn't think in those 2 spots for 5 seconds. I really feel like in any spot I can work out whats going on, but whats the point of having a skill if I don't use it all the time.

Pretty frustrating.

Happy to have a good winning Sunday just frustrating to make these 2 mistakes, it may seem self critical but I think its really important to be so critical with yourself if you strive for greatness.

Had a really oood coaching session this week with the horses and in general they've been doing really good and everybody is improving every week. Ray had a heartbreaking 9th in the bigger 55 where he was coolered, but one of our guys won the bigger 22 and Gil is currently HU in 888 megadeep with 35k ftw.

My plan for this week is to be as healthy as possible and get into a good routine. I won't eat any sweets, chocolates, sodas for the next 2 months. I'm going to try really hard.

It's nice to have a big poker and life goal for this week. Will report back.

How do you have stacks big enough to 6bet jam on the last hand of a day 1 of an MTT? Aren't you down to like 30bb avg stack by then?

Your horse played the b22 ft very well. Pressured everyone with his stack without spewing.

Re: Pads1161 #bracelethunting

Good day today, started grinding really late, probably the latest I've started a sessions. Pure bubbled the 215 turbo but was really happy as previously I think I was breakeven/bad in turbos but I've worked on them a lot over last 2 months. Got to the ft of the 109r turbo as 1/9 but finished 8th, didn't make any mistakes but felt a little bad.

1 tabled the TREX all the way to victory. Really enjoyed playing it, probably the best I've ever played HU in tournament. I always deal HU in tournaments or 3/4 handed, but I don't know why but I felt like I just needed to battle this one out. Really enjoyed playing it.

Going to watch 3 videos now and then sleep. Tuesday is a big day.

Re: Pads1161 #bracelethunting

Hey pads,

first of all great thread, love your hands analysis and overall thoughts on poker.. so much than I was/am considering applying to your stable even though I dont need the money as I really want to improve as a MTT player.

I was watching another table around the bubble of the 215 turbo but saw and was a little bit surprised by your reshove UTG+1 with 88 against the UTG shove while the BB was already all-in.

IIRC 30 left with 27 paid and a lot a 2-4bb stacks while UTG had like 7bb and you 9bb. (I might be a little off on stack sizes)

I am curious on what range you put UTG in this hand to make your shove profitable, I dont remember who he was but his range should be really tight here with BB already all-in.

So you're saying 88 is a -ev reshove vs a 7bb utg shove?

Re: Pads1161 #bracelethunting

It's very close but a jam. There was 29 left so it wasn't really utg I assume it was 7 handed?

Is fold 66, thjnk 88 is def get in.

~10bb in high ICM situations pairs under TT are almost always -EV, especially if guys behind aren't ICM aware (be able to fold AK and stuff).

88 can't be that big of a mistake either way but with so many people behind TT AK sounds about right.

If you watched the entire stream you would have heard that he wasn't using a HUD because he was using Bea's computer, so having to set it up along with not having any hands it was probably not worth the trouble.
