For those of us keeping score. Are we counting a min cash in the main or the 10k high roller as 10k+ scores. If so, that feels like cheating to me .

Setting short term goals about results in tournament poker is counterproductive I think. Better to set goals about volume/days played or something.

Openraising <15bb stacks also counterproductive

Gonna be pedantic and say this is impossible.

As I wrote, they would fall into my expectations.

I meant the part about the 10k+ scores and reaching a WCOOP final table. I think it's pretty good to differentiate between expectations and (realistic) goals, but I still think setting any short term goals about results can hurt morale during a series in case goals are likely not getting reached. It's a very personal thing though

GL during WCOOP!

in b4 the war speech.

what is the reason why it's good to set these goals? i'm sure it makes sense but it is strange for me as you have no power over those things and to me it seems like, as ORLY said, it might hurt your morale.
Anyway, GL with wcoop!!

Very tiring day today. Played A game 75% of time and C game 25% of the time but my C game really needs a lot of working on, it was far from acceptable today. First time grinding in a new house with new surroundings etc though, so maybe that's why.

Won the $55 6max for 9k and had lots of good xashes, 9th in 109r, deep in 6max, cashed WCOOP etc.

Tomorrow is the 215r which is a great tournament. Really looking forward!

Hey Patrick, just wondering - are you still planning on playing/selling for the wcoop 50k? Was looking to buy some action if avail.

If it's fallen off of the front page of the marketplace then people will miss it and at certain times the marketplace moves very quickly and things are missed. Why don't you want to bump it? Obviously it isn't great for an ego to have to bump your own thread several times but it doesn't mean it isn't going to sell.

Decent second say of WCOOP. Causes the 200r, got decent bounties in the 700psko and then a cruel 16th in the PLO for $4,5k with 100 up top. Played v good today, so I'm a lot happier. 8/10.

Back at it tomorrow!

Weird night tonight. Lost a lot, but not sure if I played really great or really bad. The style I play is so ridiculously unique that results can sometimes sway the way I perceive I've played. I'm pretty content with a lot of stuff. I feel like just grinding and grinding and playing full session tomorrow but my weekly plan said day off so I'm going to stick to that.

Really interesting hand from today

http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-h...440_12AF9CF835

Pre isn't up for debate although in sure people would like to. Flop I think is standard too and I don't really want to debate. Turn I think is easy easy check. River is very interesting though, I thought he would bet tx a lot on the river and would have a lot of 6x/78/97 kind of hands and everybody assumes I'm always jamming into weak ranges on river and the truth is I do a lot. I don't rep so much like this. I kinda like it, what do you think?

So anyway that was 12th in 109r which stung abit but never mind.

Some huge huge huge huge news coming tomorrow, I haven't been excited about something like this for a very long time. Wish I could say, but will keep it for today.

Check this page this time tomorrow!!

Do you think people will fold A9-AQ on this turn often to your c/r?

Chk calling flop with 97/78 seems pretty terrible given spr, no?

Jamming river seems fine, all Tx should be betting river, and he doesn't have 88+. So yeah, we lose to 3 combos really, he doesn't need to hero us with 6x very often at all to make this good.

Don't like betting flop, but you said you don't want to discuss that so whatevs.

Edit: he can actually have 88-TT here also, so I probably like this less. Definitely thin, may or may not be +EV. If he has 7x gutters that call the flop then obv better, but can't see it.

cool hand. when I was watching, I thought villain 'd bet riv and this would be one of your famous bluffshoves (which I would like against competent villains)

Not really sure about this, I do agree he's valuebetting his Tx+ most of the time, and wouldn't expect him to have a lot of strong valuehands in his checking range, but then again you are pads and you are (perceived to be) bat**** crazy. I understand why you jammed, imho the ev of both jam and check behind are most likely very close to each other. all in all, I'd say very very very villain dependent, and also image dependent.

do think however - no matter how cool these spots are - they aren't very important, and knowing the right answer (if there even is a clear one) won't make you/us a much better tournament/poker player.

Maybe I'm insane but the river of the A7 hand seems like the least interesting of all the streets except maybe the turn (including pre)
