Yes, only 99,95% left.
Five hundred dollars in my poker account represents 0,05% of a million. But what is a million? It's a lot of money thats for sure. But it won't be my goal to reach that number. Sure it would be nice, but unrealistic at this point. I don't like setting long therm monetary goals.

What? Why?
But what the hack do I make a PG&C thread for!?
I want to enjoy poker. Make enough money to have a good life; I'm currently a student in his second year; 2 more years to go. I live at my parents, so my montly costs are very low. I've got plenty of time to study the thing I love most: Poker

It always amazed me. People who make a living out of poker. Grinding 6 days a week, 10-15 hours a day - mostly in the evening. Some people would say they should get a life. Some would say they are living the dream. I think its something of both worlds. Poker is emotion, loneliness, social, anti-social, adrenaline, depression. Poker is everything.

I hear your brain crackin', whats this so called thread going to be about!?
Well, I wont let you guys wait any longer. This thread will be about the end of my teenage years, and the begining of my 20's. I finally want to do something with my life, visit countries, play some live tournaments, meet new people, have my own place to stay.

Short therm goals
  • Winning player at 180's
I enjoy 180's. There are enough fish around and they're pretty good for practicing MTT's. I'm starting out at the $2.50's but hope to move up stakes soon.
  • Play MTT's regularly
I also enjoy MTT's. I'll mostly play them at the end of the week.
  • Ship a 'big' field tournament
I've made quite a lot 2nd places in micro tournaments, and shipped one 4k runners tournament, but thats already over a year ago. So I'm looking forward to the next ship .
  • Profit SCOOP
I like the deep SCOOP structure. It allows more play and there are plenty of fish in the low bi's. I wont play any med or high bi's because my BR doesn't allow me to.
Long therm goals
  • Move to Malta
Not permanent though. I'll graduate in 2015 if everything goes well. That means I'll have time to do something I really want before having job. Malta is a beautiful island with a lot of beaches, nice weather, fairly cheap appartments and a lot of poker players. There are almost no taxes for poker so thats a + too I'm planning on staying for at least a year when I graduate, if I'm able to have a pretty steady profit.
  • Play an EPT
This has always been a dream for me. I'm willing to play any big field live tournament, but since I live in Europe the EPT is the most obvious for me. Something like the PCA or WSOP is just too far away (unless I can afford myself these kind of trips in the future).

Here's my lifetime graph of the $2.50's;

As you can see my profit isnt astonishing. I'm having a ROI of just over 10%, I want this at least to be 20% at the micro stakes. I'll study hard and cut down tables (12-16 tables instead of 20). I'll also review my previous hands before a new session.

Its nice thinking about my long therm goal; Malta. It would be awesome if I could make my money out of poker and be able to travel the world. But now it acquires hard work, a lot of sweat and tears, but above all; fun. Let the grind begin!

Cliffs;
- Student
- $500 BR
- $2.50 180's & MTT's
- Grind up stakes
- Graduate
- Make a living
- Move to Malta in 2 years
- Play some live poker

Thanks! I'm very determined to reach my goal!

I've had my first session tonight, I started off like crap, losing a lot of flips and 'way ahead' hands but I know I can expect that in the 180's. I managed to make a first place though so my first session is a positive one! What a nice way to start. I'm up $22 now in 58 games.

I'll play a longer session today, so I will update you in a couple of hours with a graph of how things are going

I'm going to review now, getting breakfast and getting the grind back on.

Had a better session than last night. I've played 83 MTTSNG's, reached some FT's and became first 3 times! Total profit is already over $250!

I now have 300 bi's for the $2.50's so let dem downswings come

Here's my graph till now

I don't know at what point I want to go to the 8's , first I want to have a decent sample ofcourse at the 2.50's. I also know how swingy 180's can be (had a 100bi downswing over a small sample in the past) so I dont want to rush thing up. I probably want to move up at around $2600 (325 bi's) or mix 2.50's and 8's at $2000. But thats something for the future to think about

This evening I'll have another session but for now I'll just stick with the TV

Ended 4th for about $900. The 180's aren't very exciting, only played about 20 of them because of the server crash. Made a couple of bucks profit.

Its a pity I couldn't ship first in the MTT but hey $900 isnt a bad result either BR now nearly $1500

Out of 3R.. KQ < TT, won like $100+ or something. I'm negative like $300 for the day, but still in the big 11 so we'll see

Tomorrow will probably be a long 180 grind, I really wanna make some volume since I've only done about 200 games yet. Saturday is a busy day for me, so that will probably a day off, sunday will be grinding MTT's all day long

Played a big pot in the big $11!

A fish stacked me off so thats nice. Had KJh in late position, flopping top pair, called a raise, turn comes a second heart, preflop raiser checks I bet, he calls, river comes another heart so I made my flush, pre raiser just shoves the rest of his stack with tens, I obviously call.

Got a 40bb+ stack right now, 53 people left, $160 locked up. Lets take em down

Got pretty far in the big 11, but I"m out now. Final 3 tables, K9 < 44. Was down to 10bb so decided to just shove the K9o. $200 profit, I'm pretty much breakeven for the day.

Tomorrow will be a 180 grind

Goodnight all

    Thanks!

I've been playing poker since 2009/10 ish. I began to really focus on MTT's early 2012, played around 4k tournaments, not a lot but gained a lot of experience. Switched back to cash, but started studying SNG's & MTT's again in 2013. So lot of experience, little results, but things are going pretty well right now

I'm now playing some 3.50R's, along with some turbo's. I'm ITM with decent stacks in 5.50 turbo and 4.40 turbo so lets FT one, hehe!

    Not a good day.
BR is down to around $1100 now.

Got knocked out at last 2 tables of 5.50 turbo with JJ < AA, thinking about it afterwards I've played it dumb, MP1 was pretty tight, I had a nice stack and I was flipping at best for sure. I should've just folded it, but thats something everyone thinks about afterwards Nice way to get out with trips
