Yes, only 99,95% left.
Five hundred dollars in my poker account represents 0,05% of a million. But what is a million? It's a lot of money thats for sure. But it won't be my goal to reach that number. Sure it would be nice, but unrealistic at this point. I don't like setting long therm monetary goals.
What? Why?
But what the hack do I make a PG&C thread for!?
I want to enjoy poker. Make enough money to have a good life; I'm currently a student in his second year; 2 more years to go. I live at my parents, so my montly costs are very low. I've got plenty of time to study the thing I love most: Poker
It always amazed me. People who make a living out of poker. Grinding 6 days a week, 10-15 hours a day - mostly in the evening. Some people would say they should get a life. Some would say they are living the dream. I think its something of both worlds. Poker is emotion, loneliness, social, anti-social, adrenaline, depression. Poker is everything.
I hear your brain crackin', whats this so called thread going to be about!?
Well, I wont let you guys wait any longer. This thread will be about the end of my teenage years, and the begining of my 20's. I finally want to do something with my life, visit countries, play some live tournaments, meet new people, have my own place to stay.
Short therm goals- Winning player at 180's
I enjoy 180's. There are enough fish around and they're pretty good for practicing MTT's. I'm starting out at the $2.50's but hope to move up stakes soon.
- Play MTT's regularly
I also enjoy MTT's. I'll mostly play them at the end of the week.
- Ship a 'big' field tournament
I've made quite a lot 2nd places in micro tournaments, and shipped one 4k runners tournament, but thats already over a year ago. So I'm looking forward to the next ship .
- Profit SCOOP
I like the deep SCOOP structure. It allows more play and there are plenty of fish in the low bi's. I wont play any med or high bi's because my BR doesn't allow me to.
Long therm goals- Move to Malta
Not permanent though. I'll graduate in 2015 if everything goes well. That means I'll have time to do something I really want before having job. Malta is a beautiful island with a lot of beaches, nice weather, fairly cheap appartments and a lot of poker players. There are almost no taxes for poker so thats a + too I'm planning on staying for at least a year when I graduate, if I'm able to have a pretty steady profit.
- Play an EPT
This has always been a dream for me. I'm willing to play any big field live tournament, but since I live in Europe the EPT is the most obvious for me. Something like the PCA or WSOP is just too far away (unless I can afford myself these kind of trips in the future).
Here's my lifetime graph of the $2.50's;
As you can see my profit isnt astonishing. I'm having a ROI of just over 10%, I want this at least to be 20% at the micro stakes. I'll study hard and cut down tables (12-16 tables instead of 20). I'll also review my previous hands before a new session.
Its nice thinking about my long therm goal; Malta. It would be awesome if I could make my money out of poker and be able to travel the world. But now it acquires hard work, a lot of sweat and tears, but above all; fun. Let the grind begin!
