Blog/Challenge Review

Greetings,
It was a fun ride. More fun in the beginning rather the end but still fun. Did learn a lot from this challenge and did get in touch with many people that helped me with my Poker game, strategically and mentally. As for the future will take week off while grinding and relaxing, after that plan to do bigger blog.

What I learned:

1. Discipline- To stay on the path and not get distracted.

2. Understanding variance - Writing blog gave me bigger reflation on how I preform and how variance is such a big game changer (was nice to see that even after a losing day, one bad day can't change weekly and monthly results).

3. Not to Post daily updates - It was fun and easy when I was running god like in first two weeks but during break-even period it was really draining and job like experience.

4. Better Plan my time - Having better GF/Poker/Fitness/Work balance. Was hard but did manage to improve up until I got sick.

5. Socialize - After many years of playing recreational and/or trying become better, I over-looked how important it is to have honest people that are on a similar path. Always taught that the lone wolf path is the way to go in poker, now I think the opposite.

6. Having pre-set goals - When I started the challenge I set IMO almost impossible goal that would motivate me to try harder and with some luck involved crashed it in two weeks after which I was a bit lost. In future will set small-medium-large goals so I know what I'm aiming for.

Special Thanks to most impact-full people:

Dante Alighieri - For putting this idea in my head and being my #1 fan during this challenge.

Brokenstars - For coaching that got me from 5nl breakeven to 25nl winning.

Swerbs - For connecting me to group of like-minded people and giving me his insightful tips on strategy and mindset.

TripleBerryJam - For taking his time of the day to coach(free) into very insightful and overlooked lines.

SkullKid - For having time to waste on me sharing his perspective on poker strategy and my game.

Discord group - For being on a similar path to mine and giving honest opinions about strategy... Also showing that my break even week is noting close to run bad(iykyk)

Everyone that read this post

Overall results:+1105,45$

Fantastic job, well done!

Agree with daily updates being too ambitious. Perhaps two updates per week would be good, Monday and Thursday?

Great job and looking forward to your high stakes tourney grinder blog!

Point 5 about the social aspect really resonates with me which is something I've also learned recently.

Thanks for support guys!

I was thinking about doing weekly recaps Sunday/Monday. Because on a normal week I'm able to put in 3-4 grind days.

Might do one when I become pro, just because I know how to hold those 80/20....
