Hello!

My name is Jake and I’m 21 years old and from the north of Scotland in the UK. I enjoy most sports and play football and table tennis the most – once or twice a week. I am also studying at university for a Masters in Economics. I’ve been playing poker for about 5 years, but not really taken it seriously – until now!

I first was introduced to poker with the James Bond film Casino Royale. Obviously the poker isn’t very realistic but back then I thought it looked really cool. I never really thought there much strategy of that I can be any good at it until I accidentally starting watching an Episode of Pokerstars ‘Big Game’ on channel 5 (UK) and saw a regular guy (the cannon) playing with the pros and learnt lots from what the commentators were saying and how the hands developed. A few days watching as much poker as I could via YouTube I plucked up the courage to make a Pokerstars account and sit down at the play money cash and tournament tables! Later that month I made a deposit and have slowly been rising my way up through the ranks but have never really been focused on a goal or what I really hope to accomplish. Although with poker, you can’t always get the results you want, I’ve felt like a clear goal would give me more motivation to play and improve. I’ve been stuck at the same level for a while now and want to give my game a kick start and give myself a clear goal – that’s why I joined CFP.

I found out about CFP on the HSDB homepage where they ran an interview with the CEO and found that it really spoke to me and it’s a great deal too. It’s in their best interests to help me as much as they can because if I don’t win then they don’t either. My goals are to be a profitable mid stakes player and to enjoy playing and winning rather than worrying how much I could lose if the next hand doesn’t go my way.

Thanks!
