Unfortunately no good luck yet... Obviously not big sample/just keep executing, but feels like I might have to start looking for staking soon again if this keeps up. Down abt 3x as much as pictured, HM3 is missing some ignition hands.

Up a little bit on unibet, which is untracked. Had this fun hand.

V 3bet, b33 flop, b40 turn, pot river. We call vs spazzy rec.
Spoiler:
win against Q953ds
.

Have been studying a lot recently, and I'm happy with how much I'm improving. But I have a long way to go

What does your study routine look like?

My study routine is currently focused on specific post flop spots on flop and turn. Specifically right now I’m focused on paired broadway boards as 3bettor, because that’s a spot I have had difficulty with in the past. I try not to focus on biggest pots, because I think it’s easy to miss folding too much, or other leaks that would lead to smaller pots.

There’s a biology class that has mandatory attendance for some reason, so I’ve been studying poker during that.

Haha, idk abt that. But it’s nice to have a table with a rec that doesn’t immediately fill.

Moving off Ignition for the forseeable future, for a couple reasons.

-12BI below EV, which isn't particularly concerning to me on it's own, but in conjunction with other factors could suggest foul play.

-Low Cbet Success rate, differing from my cbet success rate on other sites.

-Low WTS among opponents, seems to be roughly 20% from taking a random sample of my own hands that I didnt VPIP (if there is a better way to check, pls lmk.

-An alarming amount of bet folding at low SPR.

Could just be me being paranoid, but it's not great when I'd rather battle 400PLO, 200PLO on untracked sites than on the site where I can see the hole cards of all players... Speaking of which, I seem to be doing quite well on those untracked sites.

Building some stacks on 400s!

Had this funny hand

UTG open 200bb eff, BTN 3bet 50bb eff, I just call... Because I think I'll get 4bet squeezed kind of light by this player. Debatable if good. As it turns out, it wasn't light he also had aces, but we get it in and bink the side pot which was abt 2x bigger than main.

Really rough / frustrating -3.5k day today. Moving back down to PL100/200 for a while. Going to attempt rake race on PlayNow (local site) for November, in addition to the games on Unibet.

Did a quick tally of finances... Going to have to find staking again. Lost abt 4k today. Despite winning a bunch from live, spent too much and went on a really ****ing sick downswing online.

why not just gamble plo 50 on gg or unibet or whatever ? Not motivated enough??

this ruins more poker pros than poor play.

an ill-timed downswing when the roll is dipping is world ending. the mental / emotional stress that comes along with it just compounds it all.

It's on the pro to figure out the right BRM and overall money management. figuring this out has a huge ROI and will be the thing that makes or breaks 99% of pros.

I learned **** all about finances and money management from my parents. probably didn't actually start figuring it out til my 30s. definitely ruined me a couple times.

Will potentially try PLO100 SS. But yeah it’s been a big motivation killer.

Yeah I made some ill-advised decisions around moving up stakes and staying there that I haven’t made in abt a year. Relapse of sorts.

Nothing wrong with moving down to where you don’t feel as stressed. It’s incredibly hard to play your A game with that weighing on you. The ability to stay humble and move down is a pretty big super power.

Thought abt things a little bit more. Going to move down to .25/50 and .5/1 and grind it back up on my own. The commitment of staking really is not ideal, considering how much profit I lose long term.

Staking can actually hold some people back from playing their best because it's not their money to lose. When you have skin in the game you might actually play better. You might want to watch the Finnish poker docu-series Last Call, especially season 2 episode 1. It's on youtube. They briefly talk about this there.

If you’re not getting coached and other things that come along with it like community support etc. then yea for most ppl just playing lower is the right play.

Gl! Post some hands

Fun game! Definitely not insanely frustrated, tilted and angry...

3bp I cbet 50, he calls, turn x x, river I bet he jams I snap obviously...

open he calls, I cbet, barrel turn, barrel river and get jammed on... Snap obviously.... Edit* had KTT8ds

Lost 1k today. Idk what the **** I'm supposed to do. Figured 50bb buy in 1/2 was better than .5/1 considering the rake structure on this site... Just so ****ing ******ed I can't beat the most passive fish for even 1 ****ing buy in.

Obviously selected the grossest hands... But just so ****ign ******ed I lose flip after flip after flip. Flop top set, get it in on the flop vs backdoor flush draw + gutter, lose. Make boats, lose to royal flushes. I know I sound like a ****ing fish with these complaints but the way I'm losing is just ******ed I'm sorry.

You’re not a fish for being upset over losing. It’s natural. Especially among winning players who are not as used to taking sustained beats. It gets easier as you keep playing, until your latest downswing out-downs the prior one. Then it’s back to “**** this game.”

All this is to say, I hear you! It’ll turn around, just keep grinding. That’s where you find your inner strength, by getting back up after the fall.

Appreciate it, DT....

I think for now, I need a break from poker. I don't have the roll to grind low stakes now. Going to focus on MTG, rebuild the roll that way.

Actually, I'm a sick **** that is married to the grind.

Day 1 of rebuild at 25z + reg table + binked a random $20 PKO tournament for like $250.

Got some advice from a HS reg in a discord that I'm in. He basically said that my view on variance is likely warped, and could contribute to some of my punting. So the plan is play a lot of hands, and embrace the variance.

Plan for now is to train discipline in the gym, and work through the elliot roe mental game course. And grind it out. And not be ******ed and shot take for no reason.

Was considering jobs and stuff, but low confidence I can make more grinding 25s.

oh good damn you had like 20k thats enough to play plo 200 with 100 buy ins x))
plo 25 you need like 2500 it is a motivation thing though to play so low its just frustrating but variance will kill you anyway without br.
