long time no update.

new goal: 1095
3 years of working on this. Started at NL5 with a BR of 82,64 € (don't ask why). Will add another 100 € next month.

For the first part my goals are the following:
- play NL5 until I get to 200 €, then move up to NL10, drop down if I get below 150 €.
- Play 4 Reg tables, focus to play in the evenings, also player longer sessions, to get more "reads"/Table dynamics (No Huds allowed).
- start to work on Dailygtodose (will check this out, hadn't heard of it before, will give it a try).
- Don't quit if sessions go bad, just ride it out.
- ask for study feedback...

I am looking for study recommendations! What would you recommend to check out? I have been a RIO subscriber, but found there videos to be all over the place. It felt very difficult to follow a path from A-Z. Felt overwhelmed maybe.

Should I post hands here or in another thread?

The goal is to be consistent with Poker (and this thread). It doesn't need to be perfect, I just need to stick with it and keep at it.
I really admire people that set longterm goals and consistently work on these. I am one of those, that constantly switches things up, but no more!

Current Life goals besides Poker:
- have shoulder surgery (weee, but it's necessary)
- increase VO2Max, right now it's at 47. Want to get to the purple level on my Garmin watch
- practice swedish daily (get some certificates, checking out options currently) --> I want to move there.
- become better at "deep work", by making slow progress

For the 3 years the starting date was yesterday (22.5.2024), the end is the 22nd of May 2027. I don't want to set goals with regards to stakes or winrates, but just that I keep on improving, continue posting in this thread and work consistently on achieving my dreams. I don't need to achieve everything right away, it is fine to suck/ make mistakes, as long as I stick with it.

1/1095 done. 2/1095 is today, will play once son is asleep.

4/1095

I feel frustrated. Somehow it seems as if I always want to repeat the exact same mistakes. Below you can see my results and they are completely ok for the sample size and the few days. But I can only see that I lost towards the end and that I made stupid moves. Call when I know I'm beaten. Acting rashly, too much volume, playing with alcohol, simply tired and unfocused. After the last stupid play, I wanted to cash out again straight away and secure my win. And tell myself that's enough and that's that. Mental game is simply subterranean. Of course, I shouldn't make this mistake - it certainly makes me even angrier. But I won't cash out and I'll keep at it.

Apparently you can't export hands from the site, so I can only import my stats.

Mini-goals for the coming week are as follows:
- No alcohol with poker
- Don't play when I'm stressed, tired, etc.
- No sessions longer than 2 hours.
- Goal for the week min. 8 h playing time.

I am overwhelmed when it comes to learning strategy. I don't need a GTO for NL5/10, that's just nonsensical. I will start the GTOw book anyway.
Mini goal here:
- 2 chapters this week (Monday and Friday). --> If it makes sense, then create Anki cards and practise.

Does it make sense to learn the GTO preflop ranges in GTOw?

Regards,
Finja

Learning GTO preflop ranges using GTO Wizard makes sense even if you're playing at lower stakes.

Understanding preflop GTO ranges gives you a solid foundation for building an effective preflop strategy based on your pool's tendencies.

At your limits, you should not blindly follow the ranges suggested by GTO. You can afford to fold more to 3bets and 4bets because opponents tend to do it with stronger ranges.
But for this, you still need to know your optimal ranges.

Thank you very much for your help. Can you express this roughly in %? Are we talking about 20%, 30?

For example, CO defends 38% against BU 3Bet's 13% range by GTO.

But opponents on micro have lower 3bet in this position, so you can protect less like 30-35% depending on your opponent's actual 3bet stat.

Quick update:

- Bankroll stands at 265 €
- switching sides too much
- put in some Flashcards, but should stick to one position only.

the one above is mostly Regular tables

this is 4tabling Zoom on Stars. Not sure where to stay.

Sample sizes are all meaningless I guess.

My mental sucks big time. No idea how to work on it. Having one bad session/day, leads to cashing out and switching sites. cry baby...
