I play 20-50bb cash games in 1000 hand blocks, at this point I can look at a session, see i was running 20bb/100 over or under EV, and think, "eh, standard."

If there's one thing I learned from playing so much last year, it's that the swings in this game really are massive.

At one point last year I was over 100 buyins under EV, and at another point I was almost 100 buyins over EV, as well.

Just bankroll manage well, and you'll make it.

sngs are the least swingy way to do it imo, unless you're talking big MTTs.

PLO probably has the most swings out of any game. I thought about switching from NLHE to PLO since I find PLO more fun, and I"m tolerably good at it, but I'll admit it, I just can't handle the variance. I might splash around in it occasionally, but if I had to review say, a 50K hand sample of my PLO game, I'd probably be put on suicide watch.

Cheers mate. Already dropped down from 25s to 13s. Need to run good to get back up and make the pursuit easier. Anyway, thanks for the support.

I was grinding my arse off last year to get SN, got there, and now i'm being SOOOO lazy. I can't find the motivation to grind now that I don't need to keep a 800 vpp/day pace to get SN.

Do you guys set little milestone goals for yourself to grind for? If so how do you keep it as a serious thing to stick to... I mean there is a serious financial incentive to make sure I got SN last year, but now I have it, and maintaining it only means 1/3 of the volume I had to grind to get it (started way late). Any one have any ideas pleaseee

Yes you can.

I would assume you enter STARS600 in the bottom field.

I keep track via a blog on www.fpppro.com.

You can also get their offered software "fppproPLUS" which does a lot of interesting calculations like hourly rate, hands or hours needed, pace, etc.

It costs $15. I can't honestly say it's "worth the money" since there's nothing in there that you can't figure out with a calculator and overall it's simple enough to wonder why it isn't freeware, but eh... I use fpppro.com a lot, and it's cleaner than using calculators + notepad, so I mostly look at it as a $15 donation to a really useful site, with a little bonus thrown in.

Looking at my own HEM for this year, I make an average of .22 per hand at the 6 max 20-50bb tables at NL50, which is identical to the number on fpppro.com.

fpppro claims .126 per hand at NL25, but I can't vouch for that.

it also claims .364 for NL100, which is close to what I was getting last year (I think I was getting .35 average) but I haven't played NL100 in awhile.

any one know if its worth going for Supernova vs. Fulltilt/ any other lets say "weekly" rakeback site?

it seems to me that to make supernova you must be very commited to hit the goal. and a weekly rakeback site makes it much easier to gain money, aswell as handle swings/hits to your BR.

I would be playing 50NL then building a roll from there to get to 100NL (hopefully by june-july) i did the math and it came to about 400K hands at 50NL to hit supernova. 400K hands at any rakeback site can get you plenty $$$...any advice?

PS. when supernova what is the maximum $amount of RB+bonuses you can recieve (with $600 first Depo bonus)?

I wont do the math for you, but you have to remember that PS is using the dealt method. so the 60% deals at Ipoker with contributed rake, aint that much better.

If u rely on RB to cover your losses, then i would not be playing 50nl, move down to the stake where ur propperly rolled, to take big swings, RB should just be a bonus (That is if ur not aiming for like 700k+vpps.)

Going from bronze to Supernova generates $5109 in rakeback, if you wait to cash it out until you hit Supernova (you'll get $1200 along the way, and spend all your FPP for a $4000 bonus once you get there). This amounts to 28.1% rakeback if you're playing tournaments or six handed cash games, or 30.7% in full ring games.

This doesn't take into account the deposit bonus, or the dealt vs. contributed issue.

Keep in mind that a lot of the value comes from playing after you hit Supernova (getting 100K VPP as a Supernova generates 37.4% rakeback at six max and 40.8% at full ring).

Starvingwriter82, do you know how manny FPPs you will have, going from bronze to SN?

And from FPP pro;
Sunday Million $215.00 13500 $0.01593 Silver Star -

Can i just buy this and unregister, and get 0.0.159$/fpp? Or does it go to T$?

If you start as bronze, you generate 244,355 FPP on the way. So, to cash out at the maximum bonus, you'd need to play a bit more to get there (the best cash bonus deal is $4000 for 250K FPP) but not much.

When you use FPPs to buy a ticket, if you unregister, the ticket is returned to you. Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

You can convert FPPs to cash without the bonuses by registering for a satellite, winning entry into a larger tournament, then unregistering from the tournament and receiving T$. Some players swear by this method, however, IMO the time spent playing the satellites is time better spent grinding VPP, and just getting the cash bonuses.

I definitely agree just grind out the extra VPP's unless your bankroll takes a hit and you dont want to redeposit.

Back to the PLO subject. It sucks being a winning player 4-8 tabling but always playing 12-18 tables and losing like 1.69 bb/100. Makes me not know what to do. I mean I am a very slight winner playing less tables I obv dont crush. So who the hell knows.
