From November 27th to March 7th I will stream myself playing poker for 100 days consecutively while averaging 10 hours per day. A feat very few have completed, that was first accomplished by RobinPoker in a challenge inspired by Arlie Shaban doing it in 125 days!

So who am I? Why am I doing this? And how is someone who has streamed an amount you can count on your fingers and never once over 10 hours going to accomplish this?

Let's start with the first question;

In the online world and on the poker felts I go by the name of Chex, I first got introduced to poker like many others did playing Zynga poker on Facebook when I was like 10 and played it for a few years before being consumed with the life of being a teenager and forgot about the beautiful game until I turned 18 and almost simultaneously recalled my love for the game realizing that I could now play for real money so of course that's what I did. I began playing micro-stakes mtts and once I won that first dollar tournament at 3am for a couple hundred I was hooked. When I left my hometown to go university in a different province I found myself using all my free time playing poker and over the 6 months I was there I accumulated over a 5 figure roll from a $25 vanilla prepaid card. Once I came back home after the year away for school and then transferring back to my hometown school I was on and off poker the last couple years, never really taking it seriously anymore or actually putting in the effort to grind up the stakes. I was making a few hundred here and there but then spending it on living expenses or just punting it off like a degen. But this kind of leads to the second question of why am I doing this;

I have recently decided to take a break from post secondary education earlier this year, I just was not enjoying it anymore and struggled to see an end goal with it and felt like I was just playing school and wasting money. I started to get back into poker a few months back but again I just seemed to not have the heart in it like I wanted to and just like before I found myself making money but then just punting it away. The thing I realized was I struggled with the aspect of poker that can sometimes be boring, especially playing mtts. For many years now I have always dreamt and talked about streaming poker but I never had the right equipment to be able to. My laptop was not powerful enough so when the dare2stream challenge was announced I decided to say **** it and spent 3k on a gaming pc, webcam, mic, you know all the essentials to start a basic stream (all the money I had for a poker roll). but boom just like that I found something that combats the dullness poker can be sometimes.

Finally, how is someone who has streamed an amount you can count on your fingers and never once over 10 hours going to accomplish this?

Because I want this. I want to make it in poker. I want to make it in twitch. I want to one day get sponsored. And I know that in order to achieve all three of those goals it requires a lot of work and most importantly consistency. I am a person that's motivated by achieving goals and I feel I need to accomplish something challenging. Also with doing this and putting myself out there it holds myself accountable. So for me I have put all my chips in the middle and its stream or bust. If I cannot complete this challenge then I just did not want it enough.

If you are interested in following my journey my twitch channel is https://www.twitch.tv/nopantschex and twitter https://twitter.com/checkoutchex
I will be streaming mainly short deck cash games, and grand tours on PokerStars grinding rake back to build a roll but will slowly transition back into the MTT streets.
