Hi guys, first a little bit of background about me.

I was a live pro for about 6 months to a year after college. It was mostly home games and private games in the back of restaurants and such. This was mixed in with occasional trips to Macau.

Saw a lot of old grinders with no skills outside of poker and decided I didn't want that to happen to me so quit playing poker full time to work for a living.

During that time, all I knew about online poker was it was much tougher, some sites failed and that there were cheating/superuser allegations. I was too much of life nit to risk putting real money online. This was before black friday, not a day goes by where I don't regret just rolling over my live winnings online - or just living full time in Macau... that was dumb. Games were so easy then that normally I'd have my flights, hotels and all cost of living expenses already paid for after single session or two... really took those games for granted, thought they'd always be there.

Anyway... so I still wanted to play poker but couldn't both keep my job and show up at home games that started around 9 pm and ran until 10 am. Yet I didn't trust any online sites, so I did the natural thing and became a freeroll whore.

I did pretty well at it on every site other than Full Tilt, just could never get above 6 bucks or so there before back to 0. Otherwise, most other sites I eventually got a few bucks in some freerolls and from there grinded out sngs.

I hadn't played poker in years but now I'm trying to find if I still got it.

So I decided to try out ACR, created the username "file not found" and am now doing no deposit whoring there.

Thus far I'm up to $10.53 in cash. I've also worked my way up through all but the final steps of the venom. Right now have a $600 ticket to step 6, if I earn a ticket there, then I'll have a $2,500 ticket to the venom.

Honestly though, I'm not sure if I should try to sell that $600 ticket to be properly rolled to reall do this challenge in earnest or keep trying to shoot the moon.

I'll be tracking my progress here, not using a HUD or anything because it's .50 sngs and freerolls right now so don't even want this data on opponents. If things go well I'll probably go ahead and do some HUD going forward. Until then, my progress will be eyeballed with BR at start of session and at end.

Doubt I'll be posting many hand histories, even these .50 sngs are played by total maniacs. Very much overshoving a lot preflop because they are liable to call with Q8.

Ironically, one of the good things for BRM on ACR is that there isn't much going on. Back when I did this on Pokerstars, I would go through massive swings because every 5 minutes another 5k gtd $2 mtt would start and I'd be able to dump a lot of roll into very top heavy payout structures while tricking myself into believing it was BRM friendly.

With ACR, I'm severely limited to .55 sngs right now that have pretty flat payout structures and don't run very often - usually only able to get in a couple running at any given time. This helps me stay clear from chasing long odds while also protecting my downside when i play like crap.

chased a $5 mtt for half my bankroll with massive overlay, railed some tables before joining and see these god damned maniacs so looked like a good spot to risk half the roll. Started off well, someone cold 4bet overshoved the turn with an overpair to my nut set. About an hour later I'm one of the bigger chip stacks but this maniac calling everything pre min raises A2s, I know he'll call off anything and jam AA, he had just a few bbs more than me and gets his flush. GG vamooo!

Didn't play too well in the .55 sngs either, bubbled a couple. I gotta stop abusing the short stacks so much expecting the rest of the table

Last tournament I played since this online resurgence was a $2k live one in Macau where a november niner busted me, it takes a while to train your brain to adjust mindsets and understand nobody gaf in a .55 sng.

Down to $1.96 but still got that $600 step 6/6 venom sat ticket. Part of me says sell and have an instant bankroll, but that almost feels too easy... and then there is also the venom - which does seem like it would be fun. One thing for sure, the .55 sng players on ACR are terrible compared to microstakes players from Pokerstars. Just terrible - makes my $3.50 loss today even more embarassing

How did you get your $10 bankroll on this site ? The only free rolls I see are step 1 Venom MTTs .

In the venom steps if more than the minimum amount of people join then the rollover turns into cash prizes. So you often x amount of tickets + y amount of money for last place that's ITM.

When I won my $600 ticket, the payout spot right before that was $500 something and I was strongly considering chip dumping to secure that - never even got a chance, once final guy busted all the stacks basically rushed to get it all in immediately as it was quite apparent they wanted the sure money instead.

I know I can sell the venom ticket, unsure if I can sell the $600 ticket.

I also got some money from some venom tournies that were cancelled after starting - they just dumped cash in the account rather than figure out who should get a ticket. They've had a lot a technical issues lately, came here with the intention of testing it out and then deciding if I should depositi or not but too unstable and having fun trying to do again what I once did a decade ago across multiple sites.

forgot about this, hadn't played in a while and checked it out - with no dfs or markets to trade on weekend, should be doing plenty of poker volume on these days

months back i bubbled the final stage to the venom which was tilting, think i may have mentioned it here

anyway, logged in to check the status and just a few cents there but noticed i had won 10x $6 tickets so decided to fire away in two mtts

cashed both, final tabled one, so br about $80ish now, which means i'm rolled to actually pursue something in earnest, will look over the lobby and figure it out, likely just spamming those .50 sngs for a little while at least

with corona lockdown i guess the thread is back in action

doing pretty well, well enough to consider actually installing a hud and doing some study

up to $150 now and have another $60 or so in tickets earned from freerolls

those $5 jackpots (what they call spin n gos) are horrible for my brm but i just can't quit them

no longer a no deposit challenge as i haven't had much time to really grind but have had the time to sports bet on the election like a degen and ended up tieing up most of the roll in that until november while having a bad stretch of "just 1 more $5 jackpot to get even" so did a player tansfer for $100

rakeback now in play and already starting the run good, never hit a multiple this high before and won it too, too bad it was in the "let's be responsible and play $2 jacks" phase of the challenge
