Hey guys!

I've started grinding again on Stars, hoping to beat through NL5 all the way through the micros. I am playing 8 tables of 6-max, hoping to do at least one hour of play a day.

I have played NL2-NL25 on FT/Stars for about 1 year, ran and played quite badly about 2 months ago and took a break from NL25 to study the game. Now after watching some videos/reading some threads/lurking forums I am back grinding. I deposited $10 on Stars a few weeks ago, got the $10 VIP bonus then grinded up to $100 at FR NL2. Now I am at about $150 and hoping to start NL10 at like ~$250.

Here is graph for NL2:

Here is the graph for NL5 so far:

Running great on NL5 atm xD

I'm hoping to update the thread on a sessionly basis, discussing notable hands etc. and asking for advice

Ty for Reading ^^

Session 1:

1048 Hands
2 hours

-$22.48

Terrible session, chose a bad time to play ( after shower, pretty dozy ), worst session I've played since coming back to play. Got a bit tilty half way through and donked off a few buyins bluffing. Hope I learnt my lesson.

Biggest Winning Hands:

Didn't win any big pots, biggest pot I won was about $3.5, not gonna post HH cause I flop full house and stack the guy.

Quite a few other wins as well, but mostly stacking short stacks with AK/Pocket Broadways.

Biggest Losing Hands:

Hand 1:

Poker Stars $5.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

MP: $5.33
CO: $13.44
BTN: $4.20
SB: $5.00

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BB with 5 5
3 folds, BTN calls $0.05, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.20, BTN raises to $0.70, Hero calls $0.50

Flop: ($1.42) A 2 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $3.50, Hero calls $3.50

Turn: ($8.42) T (2 players)

River: ($8.42) T (2 players)

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $8.42
Hero shows 5s 5d
BTN shows Ac 9s
BTN wins $8.01
(Rake: $0.41)

Villain is 50/18 with 17% 3bet over 73 hands. I call pre as I think I was flipping/ahead of quite a lot of his range and I knew that I could definitely stack villain if I flop a set, villain limp 3betted which is AA a lot in micro, or occasionaly futile steals. I check flop, planning to c/r as I was ahead of hands like KQ/KQ/78s etc as I know villain would bet them IP when checked to. When Villain shoves I called as I thought he was trying to steal the pot IP, I did not think villain would shove a pair of Aces or Set of AA when checked to :/

Hand 2:

Poker Stars $5.00 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

CO: $5.22
BTN: $5.00
SB: $4.61
Hero (BB): $5.23
UTG: $8.02

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BB with Q K
1 fold, CO calls $0.05, BTN raises to $0.20, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.65, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.45

Flop: ($1.37) 4 2 J (2 players)
Hero bets $0.85, BTN raises to $2.55, Hero raises to $4.58, BTN calls $1.80 all in

Turn: ($10.07) A (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: ($10.07) 6 (2 players - 1 is all in)

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $10.07
BTN shows 2s 2h
Hero shows Qc Kd
BTN wins $9.57
(Rake: $0.27)

Here the Villain is 19/19/6 with a 3bet% of 3

Villain open raises 33% on BTN so I thought he was likely to be stealing the blinds so I 3bet him with KQo. When Villain flats I put his range on to AQ, 88-JJ, KQs. My image at this time was not too loose at 22/19 with fold to steal of 83%.

On the flop I cbet 2/3 of the pot on 42J rainbow as I can represent overcards, and I was surprised when the villain repopped it to 3x, I thought that most of his range would have missed as JJ would more likely call IP so I shoved and my equity wasnt too bad against hands like 88/99/TT and I thought I could get AQ to fold, got snap called by a set of deuces which really surprised me.

got a bit tilty after this point and wasted 2 BIs snapping off aggro villain shoves with JJ/TT on Axx boards...:/

Gonna be grinding this back tomorrow, gonna stamp out the FPS and stop getting carried away, hopefully I can quit next time when I'm feeling a bit tilty and stuck a few BIs but its a lot easier for me to say than do.

Peace Out!
