HI Guys,

I am Confucius96 and I'm a aspiring poker player.

I want to challange myself this year. My goal is to reach at least NL50 by the end of the year. I know it will be very difficult but with a lot of effort and dedication, I believe it will be possible.

I'll be posting my results every 10k hands or every time that I decide to move up or move down. The rules are the following:

⏫ MOVE UP:
• NL2 ⇾ NL5 (30buy-ins + 5ev/100)
• NL5 ⇾ NL10 (40buy-ins + 5ev/100)
• NL10 ⇾ NL25 (50buy-ins + 5ev/100)
• NL25 ⇾ NL50 (60buy-ins + 5ev/100)

⏬ MOVE DOWN:
Net loss of 10buy-ins.

If you have any questions, recommendations or some things you'd like to see, just let me know.

Definitely not gonna happen. There has been 1k this kind of topics that disappear after 3 month because people are destroyed to suck outs or not going to but enough volume. My last month on nl2 was -40 buy ins under ev. I’m going to use this topic to my reference because I’ve talked about this a lot. I hope you best but want to remember there are lots of people like that disappears soon with these kind of goals.

Show us that you are no quitter.

Could you please stick to your containment thread instead of shitting up topics made by people who actually want to improve? It's already been explained 1000 times that when you open shove hands like 94o for hundreds of hands in a row, PokerTracker can't calculate all-in EV correctly due to dead outs that it cannot tangibly account for. As long as OP doesn't do that, he'll be fine.

Btw, multiple people posted graphics in your topic showing them crushing 2NL. Why did you just ignore those? Here they are in case you forgot:

You can check those hands I've posted with 40 buy ins ins under ev that are lost with 90-80% equity. I have also plenty of from 80 down to 70 that I've not posted.

I've read these blogs during 15 years and they are mostly repetitive. From nl2 to nl10 seems to be very hard. If you think what books tell you about bankrolls, 50 buy ins is enough, during this almost 20 years I've shown you months that are brutally destroying your aces and king and others 90-80% equity hands.

From my perspective I hope best to OP for his challenge because its huge reference to me from couple of reasons. 1) he can't make like other here during 15 years 2) if he can make he is showing that it's possible.

You cherry picked a few hands where you got it in good while ignoring the thousands and thousands of hands where you tilt shoved with trash. Export your PokerTracker 4 database and upload it here. Until then everyone is just going to assume the vast majority of your EV losses are from you punting it off with 94o for 200bb over and over.

Would be nice to keep the 2NL beef out of the new guys thread?

Paisting, you were -40 buyins under EV while punting HUNDREDS of buyins playing terribly. You are literally the last person on this site who should give advice about what poker success would be possible.

Paisting, you are losing over 100BB/100). You'd literally save money each month by OPENFOLDING 100%

You don't run bad; you're just awful at poker. Quit poker.

Hey guys.
Thank you all for the good luck wishes. Honestly, I don't care that people don't believe that I can achieve my goals. Everyone is welcome to give their opinions.

Regarding the results, I'm very happy to announce that I didn't have to wait for 10k hands to put my first graph here. I managed to make the 30 buy-ins in just 6.5k hands.
My goal was to move up as soon as I made 30 buy-ins with an ev of at least 5. Another very important stat for me was the WWSF. I wish it was at least 45.

I'm very happy to announce that achieved all of my goals for NL2 and I'm giving a 10 buy-in shot at NL5.

Tyty Sir,
Before I started playing cash games, I played micro stakes tournaments for a long time. I had great results but I stopped because I didn't like the grind anymore, especially the 5 minute breaks.
Now I have time to study and play.

I cant believe paisting that you are really that stupid.
Nobody loses at nl2 but you and it doesnt matter if you are 40buyins above or below EV - you lose all your money every month.
Stop giving advice - you are the worst poker player ever.
Go and get help for your mental illness.

May I ask how many tables you are playing at once OP? Do you table select or just play whatever is available?

Once again very nice results, makes me question whether grinding ZOOM for 5-8bb/100 is even worth it when it's possible to maintain double digit winrate with less variance at regular tables.

I’d be very interested in how many bb/100 would be needed at reg tables to replicate a certain winrate on zoom when the hand volume is much higher!

In theory, I'd assume something like 4 times the winrate (assuming you play the same amount of reg tables as you would ZOOM tables)

In practice, I think reg tables will generally be better regardless because you can easily play 4 or more reg tables with good focus whereas playing 4 ZOOM tables at once is quite challenging.
You will also naturally have a higher winrate at reg tables, resulting in less variance and less likelihood of having severe downswings.
