Hi, my name is João, I'm from Brazil and I'm 32.
Been around poker since 2008, in and out, always winning some crumbs but nothing that could really make any difference in my life.
On 2020 I decided to come back to poker and to get in a poker staking/coaching school. Joined in September 2020 on NL 25 and got stuck at NL 50 for 6 months but kept studying and finally climbed my way up to NL 200. This year I decided to give my best shot to study, coach and play as much as possible while working 40 hours/week as a concierge at a nursing house, being a good father to my beautiful 10 years old daughter and being as best son and boyfriend I could be, while keeping my fitness levels up.
My goal is to climb as much stakes as possible until December, and then quit my job and follow my passion for poker. Currently I'm still holding my job because I'm waiting for the loan to buy my house to be approved. Will post my house when the deal is done.
Related to fitness I usually ran 10km everyday to keep myself in-shape, used to do CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting, plan is to build my home gym and go back to train Olympic Weightlifting while running and cycling.
To study poker I generally do:
- Upload my session to GTO Wizard and see in what spots I diverged from the ideal EV play, to check if I did it on purpose or by mistake and analyze how the spots I got mistakes one should have been played;
- Play on GTO Trainer from PioSolver 2.0 with my SIMs;
-*Analyze my stats;
- Coaching with my school's coach;
To play:
- Try not to go over 8 tables, 4 on Bodog and the others on WPN;
Coaching:
- I currently have 7 students which I give 1 hour sessions every week;
These are my results from NL 100 and 200:
