Hi, my name is João, I'm from Brazil and I'm 32.
Been around poker since 2008, in and out, always winning some crumbs but nothing that could really make any difference in my life.
On 2020 I decided to come back to poker and to get in a poker staking/coaching school. Joined in September 2020 on NL 25 and got stuck at NL 50 for 6 months but kept studying and finally climbed my way up to NL 200. This year I decided to give my best shot to study, coach and play as much as possible while working 40 hours/week as a concierge at a nursing house, being a good father to my beautiful 10 years old daughter and being as best son and boyfriend I could be, while keeping my fitness levels up.

My goal is to climb as much stakes as possible until December, and then quit my job and follow my passion for poker. Currently I'm still holding my job because I'm waiting for the loan to buy my house to be approved. Will post my house when the deal is done.
Related to fitness I usually ran 10km everyday to keep myself in-shape, used to do CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting, plan is to build my home gym and go back to train Olympic Weightlifting while running and cycling.

To study poker I generally do:

- Upload my session to GTO Wizard and see in what spots I diverged from the ideal EV play, to check if I did it on purpose or by mistake and analyze how the spots I got mistakes one should have been played;
- Play on GTO Trainer from PioSolver 2.0 with my SIMs;
-*Analyze my stats;
- Coaching with my school's coach;

To play:

- Try not to go over 8 tables, 4 on Bodog and the others on WPN;

Coaching:

- I currently have 7 students which I give 1 hour sessions every week;

These are my results from NL 100 and 200:

Couldn't play my normal 2k hands session because I had a friends visit but still managed to put 1.5k hands in. No big spots but I'll select the most interesting hands and post them here later, session currently uploading to GTOWizard, going for my 10 km run

Guys, any of you usually uploads his session on GTO Wizard as a study method? What 'Av. EV Loss' do you guys usually get? I'm averaging 0.03 EV loss per hand but the majority of the hands I'm deviating alot from GTO play are player/field oriented so this keeps me happy about my progress

Had a friend sweeting me yesterday and he was shocked by the number of coolers I had against me but we have to keep fighting, the only way to go trough a downswing is volume so I'll keep making my part of the deal

One thing I started to do is to filter my db on hands that saw the flop and only upload them. I find the number is then more meaningful as you don't have lots of of the trivial preflop spots smoothing out the average.

Never thought about it and it seems a good idea to avoid 'Av. EV Loss' number from spots we are folding pre as an exploit, will start to do that!

Todays session went smooth, no coolers pre in my favor nor against me so these kind of sessions usually go well, wondering what type of content do you guys prefere? Tough spots, session reviews on GTO Wizards, cool spots I find on GTO Trainer from Pio, exploits I make in-game that deviate from the GTO play imo..

Another very tough session, funny thing I'm going probably trough my worst poker run ever, I'm only running 16 buy-ins above EV but in spots I think I never ran this bad, but I'll be here tomorrow to play all over again

                  I'm going to be back, recovering from a huge downswing, currently at NL 50 but still with same dream to play NL 1k, will keep my 40k hands per month, swinging at -2.1k, will get back to NL 100 when I hit -1.5k and back to 200 when I hit 0, thinking about creating a YouTube channel where I analyze my hands too. Been stopped for almost a year because of my day job but now I'm back for good

                  Just played 2 sessions, friday and saturday:

                  friday: +0.55€ | +212€EV
                  saturday: -455€ | -12€EV

                  Saturday was my worse NL 50 session I've ever played in over 300k hands, started playing too much gamblish and then ended up losing 6 stacks in preflop coolers but did alot of mistakes, one thing I started noticing is that I tend to play more risky and build big pots whenever I hit something when I'm losing, even in spots I know I'm supposed to use a smaller size I go for the bigger one and end up in pretty ****ed up spots.

                  Will post several spots here and what I did wrong, this one really surprised me:

                  I opened MP and got called by SB and this is how the hand is played on GTO:

                  Got a big EV deviation from the optimal play and when I checked what I did wrong the mistake was on the Turn, I though that even the Turn completing a straight, it was good to go for an overbet since villain was a fishy reg that probably had suited connectors on his cold calling range so went for max value vs 98, 87, 76, 10 10, J10, QJ, 77 and he could potentially call a bigger flop bet with AJs so though overbet was >EV then going for the normal size in straight completing turns (75%). Actually 66 is a pure check

                  This month was going good but a few bad sessions near the end turned it on negative month pre-rakeback after 3 years of playing poker online it's my second negative month, had some crappy spots but can't blame it all on run, played some hands terribly, was 2nd barreling way too much on 3b pots in spots where it makes no sense, trying to value bet too thin and ended up putting myself on crappy spots where I should have just checked back.

                  It is what it is, I should study harder. Going to focus my studies this week on Turn barrel on both SRP and 3B pots, both doing and defending them.

                  Related to my vlog, would like to get some feedback from you guys:

                  Do you prefer YouTube recaps or Live streaming?
                  Which platform do you prefer?
                  Which content do you prefer to see, vlogs of week results? Studying sessions? Field exploits? Liveplay?

                  Took 2 rest days cause every 3 weeks I have a 13 hours work day at the office so I usually take that day and the day before as rest days, will probably play for the next 14 days in a row, already did my Zwift session today on my Concept 2 Bike Erg, if there are any Zwifters here please add me, will get back to my normal 2.5k/3k today
