Things are going well in cash still. I'm up a total of 3.4k on the month. 90% of my profits are 100nl, 10% 200nl. I'm getting a lot more comfortable at 200FR, probably because my roll has gotten a nice boost.
I'll get a graph up before I leave for my Christmas vacation on the 18th. Going back home to visit family. I'll be gone for 10 days, but I'll play a bit here and there. Nice to have run well for the first couple weeks of December so that taking a bit of time off won't feel as stressful.
My volume has been a bit iffy. Some days I'm only putting in 6 hours. It's a combination of procrastinating and the fact that the games aren't that great during the day. I still put in a good 2 hour of study to make good use of some of my time, but there's room for improvement.
Dog is doing much better on her medication, so all is well for now!
glad your dog is doing much better! you should continue feeling alot less stress now that youre grinding cash and having a consistent hourly. less stress also obv=you playing better. think youll be in a great spot come this time next year if you keep workin hard
Had a wild session last night. Was not happy with my play for the first 1.5 hours. I lost a few buyins right away and then started making too loose of turn and river calls. Ended up being down $550 after the first 1.5-2 hours, took like a 5 minute breather to regather myself as I was becoming a bit tilted, and grinded it all back.
Finished +$4 lol. It felt quite good, but I need to take active steps to make sure I don't play like that again. I would say it was about $100 in calls I KNOW I shouldn't have made.
Here's my graph since switching back to cash on Nov 29th:
I've decided on a schedule for myself:
Mon-Thurs: 8pm - 2am (I'll play sometimes before 8 if I feel like it)
Fri: 6pm - 2am
Sat/Sun: 4pm-2am
Total of 52 hours not including study which I tend to do for about 2 hours before I start playing. I'd love to play more on Mon-Thurs, but the games aren't good enough until later in the day, so I feel like my time is better spent getting some relaxation and/or studying.
I was having a bit of trouble waking up in the morning, which messes with my whole daily routine, making my mental game not as sharp when it comes time to play. So what I did was change my alarm on my phone to play this audio to motivate me out of bed:
6 hour session started off awful again today losing 3 buyins right off the bat but came back huge and finished +$640. Very happy to start my vacation with no worries about having to play much at home.
Leaving tomorrow night so won't be playing. Gonna study as much as possible on my flight since it'll be miserable no matter what I do.
I'm going to play a little bit at home when I have downtime, but won't be much.
Very very happy that you switched to cash. I know tournaments are much sexier etc and everyone wants that huge score but I think everyone can agree that booking a huge month in cash feels great as well, just is much easier to become bored with the game and no little goals or titles to aim for. I find it easier if I equate an amount of winnings in a month/number of hands/yr to a real life possession that you could buy like a car/holiday etc. You don't have to buy it obviously but keeps you motivated and sets a challenge to aim for, rather than just see where you are at month end
