Prolly a bad call but i think my image is tight and i think villain is good enough to use that against me, think he would 3bet pre with suited broadways or 1010, and raise size on turn was huge leading me to lean towards single club. Also blocking j9, this was my thought process, sound?

I don't think a random J9 is going to lose their mind with boats and flushes on board, so we aren't really blocking any value like J9s. This is a pretty tight formation and I don't think villain is bluffing enough to make us want to call down here, especially when we have all the boats, quads, flushes, etc.

Well im glad it worked out atleast lol My intuition was he was bluffing. I thought to myself hes saying he has a flush but wants to play for all of it? Why? i wouldnt. Then i though he certainly isnt over valuing a queen here right? So he is then saying he has an 8 but also wants to play for all of it, hes repping 1010 108 and thats it. Hence the call

I sattied into super tuesday and got cold decked the entire tourney, some how made the money then made the FT, got it all in for all the chips and got cold decked BAD.
This hand cost me thousands in cEV. Still marginally happy that i spent 20 bucks and took home 461 but this just killed me.

PokerStars - 30000/60000 Ante 7500 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: 31.59 BB
Hero (BTN): 17.78 BB
SB: 18.04 BB
BB: 13.87 BB
UTG: 11.39 BB
UTG+1: 63.46 BB
MP: 23.11 BB
MP+1: 9.11 BB

8 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.5 BB) Hero has A K

fold, fold, MP raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero raises to 17.66 BB and is all-in, fold, fold, MP calls 14.66 BB

Flop: (37.82 BB, 2 players) 2 7 2

Turn: (37.82 BB, 2 players) Q

River: (37.82 BB, 2 players) 8

MP shows Q A (Two Pair, Queens and Twos)
(Pre 24%, Flop 20%, Turn 93%)
Hero shows A K (One Pair, Twos)
(Pre 76%, Flop 80%, Turn 7%)
MP wins 37.82 BB

finished 8th out 230~ first place was 4k! 2nd 2990 ish 3rd was around 2k i believe so i am very tilted over losing like that, this happened the whole tourney i nearly didnt cash. Lost every flip and battled back.

Other than that i cashed a few more including a 3rd place and second.

Here are my graphs for cash all dates/stakes, tourneys all time, and 30 nl this month. (30 nl only for the next 50k to 100k hands)

The tourney chart and roi should actually be higher as pt4 thinks i paid 100 to play but really i only paid 20, 2 sat bullets, so it says i won 361 when i was really awarded 461 - 20 in sats.
Subscribed to gto wizard late last month and moved into a new place with the gf and dog so i took that time to do a lot of studying on wizard.

My plan going forward is to play cash only when it is very worth while during peak times and table select even harder then i used to. Just enough cash to not get downgraded off the top rake back chest ($100 for 40k points) . While playing any worth while tournament under $30 and play satellites for all the major 100 dollar or more tournaments or sell portions and just buy into those tournaments. I wasn't a believer in sats but my pool Pokerstars PA is just 2 soft not to utilize them. I am winning at over 12 bb / 100 at 30 nl but it is noticeably easier in tournaments, i honestly cant believe how soft these tourneys have been.

Bro this game can go **** itself for the second week in a row im at the FT of a 22.5k tournament and i get a 1 outer this time for ALL the chips and this is after playing so ****ing well and being down 200 on cash for the day to 2 bullet this tourney. Make a incredible call to even get there and this happens with 5k on the line AGAIN.

Im just about done with this ****ing game.

Poker can be tough. Variance can be wild.

I definitely try to not look at $ and keep everything neutral like BBs otherwise it’s overwhelming when I downswing or face bad variance. Mindset is a huge part of this game so if you are feeling volatile emotionally, I would try to work on that

At the end of the day we rely o n players making poor decisions so to get upset about some weird set ups seems silly. It would be a diff story if a few regs had your number and were just trashing you left, right and center.

Try to enjoy the ride, there’s gonna be big upswings and big down swings. My best and worst in a day is somewhere around +/-15-20 bi and could be as fast as 1k hands or long over 20-50k. Have to keep your head up imo

It’s just so hard to deal with it happening in spots like that. I could care less about 30 nl beats but for it to happen in 2 spots back to back FTs worth very close to 5k in chip ev just kills me. Then withdrawing money every week and my br staying near the same if just one of those spots goes my way I could invest more in my studies and get better. But no, I got bills to pay no job and trying to make it work…. For this to happen hurts bad. I got rent paid for the next 3~ months but that would have given me a ton more piece of mind. Just blows

Tilt is 100% my biggest problem for sure. But how can I not get tilted when **** like this happens. I was gonna build a decent pc with either of those FT money. Nope!

Can’t get tilted over what’s not in your pocket.

Getting a handle on your own individual tilt is a big part of this game.

When I was trying to be pro level rock climber, mental game I believe was 90% of how I performed, I see poker almost the exact same. Don’t sleep on mental game

I will work on it. To that hand I mean it’s just a ridiculous set up, maybe I should NOT ob river but I can’t fold there right? Certainly not as played but say I bet 50-60 even with icm I mean it’s a 100000% snap call. Right? lol I lose to 2 hands kk and aa, and I block Aa I thought for sure when I saw I lost that he had kk. It’s just such run bad I can’t even comprehend it. In every way. I only go broke there if the ace comes. If he has kk there I would even consider folding a10 if the river is a brick, player was the tightest in the tourney and if I don’t fill up and he jams I may fold. Maybe not but idk. Wish that 10 never hit and I certainly make 2 more pay jumps. Such a slow play I can never fold there. I wish I would have got the mtt to wizard to look spots up. May switch to it.
