Just finished a grueling session:

The EV is lying somewhat as well, cause I did some re-suckouts with AA vs Fish Flopping twopairs with T7 and random junk in 3-bet pots.

Obviously I have outs vs their two-pairs that can be counterfeited

Full of fish spiking two-outers and what not over and over again. Fought through it and ended -$15. Satisfied with that, ran about $300 under EV. Although I should not complain because I haven't ran this bad in a long time.

Nice session ending man!
Doing well I see, what's your move-up plan?
05-02-2013 , 04:44 PM
I'd like to have atleast $10.000 on Stars before starting to bumhunt NL 200. I will also probably play even fewer tables when I do it (4 I'd guess)
I am going to expand my game and going to look into playing heads-up as well.

Stars Roll: $8112 - I deposited $500 yesterday for $100 bonus. I will cash out the $500 once I have grinded out the bonus. I like to build my roll, but not with my savings. Got 500 VPPs left for that.

Bell Curve: I knew before I looked that I haven't flopped / turned rivered OESD -> Straights in ages.

Many of the ratholers on Stars are simply ******ed. This is one of them.

I don't mind he's call if deeper than 100bb but with less it's just so horrible even IP. My valuerange vs this guy is basically JJ+ and AK.

Obviously ratholers don't know how to fold.

Villain has a capped range here and he has exactly KT-KQ here a lot.
05-03-2013 , 01:36 AM
Hey brutti, not trying to be a dick (just giving some advice) but villains range certainly isn't capped in that hand. He can legitimately rep all combos especially with fish/short stacker in the BB. I mean, the b/b/c/r line is rarely a bluff at small stakes since most regs don't think about these things and i expect you to get a decent amount of credit for it but he can still have all sets (inc KK) and straights in his range here.

That's fine ponty: I'm here to learn.

However in this spot I do think it's very rare that he is nutted + my line is just absurdly strong. I will also say that it's a line I do take with the nuts as well, but this time I figured it was the only way to win at river. Furthermore it's a spot I give up most of the time. I think this villain is raising sets/overpairs somewhere on flop or turn. As played I think he's hand looks a lot like KT-AK. I don't think he has straights here almost ever. 87s for an open-ender is the only SD on the flop, I don't think he calls two-barrels with a gut-shot (should never say never though).

My line is so strong that even AK here is usually in rough shape.

The sets he could have is 55/66. I do not give villain credit for flatting AA/KK here pre. I rarely give any villains on SSNL credit for doing it, except a very few I have seen. Thats you, and a few others.

Most of the regs I see just squeeze or 3-bet without even thinking about playing a hand with the fish.

Oh hey, i agree with you that your line is very strong, I did try to note that as such in my post. And also think that he likely folds a large portion of his range on river when you c/r but he definitely isn't capped. I mean sure, it may be unlikely he has KK (completely depends on players in the blinds and also how he views you) but it's still in his range even if only discounted. He can definitely have 89 suited on flop with bd fd's that he plays this way as well.

Should have emphasised in my original post that i wasn't criticising your play in any way, just stressing that capped isn't really the way to describe his range here. I agree with your assessment that it's like weighted to hands that fold vs a c/r. I have no idea how he views you or how you construct your ranges in general, but if you're doing this with most of your flushdraws (and any other cards you decide to bluff) with even any sort of frequency then you are likely going to be really bluff heavy in these spots and he should probably be calling down pretty light (possibly even any Kx).

As is, I suspect that you often bet or c/f river and are not c/r with a high frequency as a bluff, in which case in an exploitative sense it is fine but probably worth being aware of how balanced you are in this kind of spot (not so much 100nl but when moving up). gl gl.
05-03-2013 , 07:36 AM
Agree, very good points & thank you!

This is not a line that is standard for me, cannot remember last time I did this with air.

I don't know whats optimal ratio for bluffs/value. However on NL 100 i am value-heavy in these spots cause people rarely likes to fold.

Promised to play a session. Feeling quite tired, so I decided to play 4-5 tables. Just folded to a lot of 3bets from the usual 3-bet monkey mafia who loves to sqz out fish of pots and doesn't even understand what they are doing, but mashing random buttons cause of their emotional state and ******edness. For those playing NL 100 6m Olegim and Enjoylife888 are quite some characters I have to say. Seems like it's nobody home.

Furthermore the ratholers are epic, they sqz with random hands in BB vs BTN Open SB Caller, og when I backraise AQ/99+ they tank fold or tank calls with smaller pairs. They are playing without a plan, which is horrible. I just flat and trap with AQ+ and 99+ cause they are clicking SQZ button like 90% of the time, regardless.

The river made this call easier, but probably never folding here. Some people just barrel from SB vs BB like no tomorrow. Though spot as the ace fell, but villains range is so wide here that I think K9 is too good to fold at turn.

Also a spot that most people think is quite standard, but I don't go broke here with JJ to often unless I am sure villain has 99 & TT in he's or her range. This villain def does not have that. I think many people look at hands like this and say its a cooler, but is it?.....

One of the hands I think I played quite good vs rec player. Yes I did pipped him. I think many of these spots goes check/check river. However vs rec players I think its important to try to squeeze out every single dollar. The river bet here also works like a blocker bet because I know he is passive and will only raise nutted hands like flushes here, and he will call with two-pairs. I think it could be a tough spot if I check here and he bets.

I said in the intro that I'm not very materialistic, which is true. I'm just absurdly simple human being and will probably be one of those guys that eats fast food, and does not give a ****.

My plan is to start investing when I'm done studying and playing poker as well. I think this is the way to go to get rich. I do love poker so I will try to keep it as a hobby, but also try to improve my game and be a winner at the stakes I am playing.

I could probably be one of those guys that had Porsche or Bentley and bought a cheeseburger at McDonalds or go to simple restaurants wearing jeans and a polo..
