I open raise 3,6BB preflop, Villain reraises 10BB, i call, flop comes 8Q8 2 hearts

Villain bets 22BB on 35BBpot, im considering folding here thinking to myself maybe villain has QQ but in the end decided to take a risk and call one time and see what happens

Turn comes 6h and i make flush, villain bets 54BB on 79BB pot, he has left like 86BB so i dont want to scare him here with a reraise he may find a fold with AQ/KK/AA so i call here and shove river, i got him where i wanted but thanks GG for another great river

Hi guys, finally I found some other FR+antes regs!

I'm sure we've played eachother.

I'd like to chat with some regs, esp about rake/rakeback, and strats, especially preflop.

regarding rake: it just dawned on me today that there is apparently preflop rake... And even on pots where you just raise and win the antes... Can you confirm this?

Also, with the rakeback PVI, the killer whale etc gives WAY less than 50% rakeback for me. And it seems to give different amounts for different stakes, very strange.

And regarding the pokercraft results graph: you know that's pre-rake, right? So the graph displays what you would have won if there were no rake...

It's def a good idea to drop down stakes for a few days to get your confidence back up after a downswing

haha ok nice, that's one of the aims of my playstyle.
my VPIP isn't above 40% on average though, that was variance XD

Yeah, no matter how hard GG tries to bust me i always move down stakes and grind back

I haven’t made any new deposit after my first original deposit of 50$ while i cashed out 1440$ + 400$ after last BBJ which I didn’t mention in this thread so total withdrawal was 1840$ which i invested in bitcoin

Mainly i bought altcoins FET and STX and now my investment value is over 5600$ im still waiting one month as bitcoin bull run continues hoping to hit 10k$+ there and will use that money as a bankroll to play live 1/3 poker or higher, live games are softer than online NL2 lol

I don’t make new deposits on GG mainly because im not confident enough with my game yet, i still spew some unnecessary pots and haven’t fixed some leaks in my game so i prefer to waste time moving down stakes and meanwhile fix my leaks until my game becomes stable

I've never seen something like this in my entire life, this is too much really

Player named "panterafan" wins allin AA vs KK and very next hand i got dealt KK, i 4bet him and he 5bet "im thinking no way he got AA again, impossible" and yes he again with AA wins allin from me too (he was AA vs KK twice in a row) some hands later he won another allin pot AA vs AK from someone else and he was playing with 1000BB+ stack

Yeah your name starts with rigd so you know it better

Irony aside im really hitting variance wall so hard at this point really starting to think that online poker can be programmed that way to basically make some of the players life harder and easier for some players

Balance between players will result as many players playing as possible without most of them going busto fast, basically it takes only one card to come what can change outcome of any hand if player not drawing dead ofc so everything is possible

UPDATE: playing NL10 now soon to be move back to NL25 but really i don't feel like i deserve to play higher stakes just yet because clearly i see my leaks which needs to be fixed and it's better to train on lower stakes

Few examples:

At start of the session this hand happened right away, so i was thinking myself "why this has to happen when session just started, why this must happen to me" this kind of thinking really get me tilted

So after those 3 hands above clearly im not playing my best poker, here i called turn it was right by odds but calling river shove was out of tilt, i excluded 3 and 2 from his range and as he shoved i thought maybe he was bluffing but value shove with 99 was too much maybe he wanted to make me fold TT or JJ or a flush well who knows but i would fold here if i was in my clear mind

I found a trigger what makes me tilt: when variance hits and bad runs repeat or for some reason i get cooler at start of the session my mind thinks like "this is not right, one time it's ok, second time it's ok but third time in a row?" "why it happened now? it would be right if i won first few hands like this one and then one cooler it would be ok"

I feel victim of unfair variance coming in my way but i need to understand variance is very wild and it can be cruel sometimes, like a nature, deep jungle or ocean, i really need to train my mind to accept it as it is

It's better to lose money on lower stakes now and just fix all the leaks because losing here is nothing compared to losing at higher stakes

I try to keep my mind on my decision making process and treat variance as it treats me, it doesn't care about me --> I don't care about it. Let the cards fall as they may and GL.

I've put plenty of bad beats on people who didn't deserve it too

What defines a winning session for you?

What immediate leaks do you have in mind to target right away and what is your plan to plug them?

What defines a winning session for you?

My immediate leak is to be consistent with my game plan, i believe most important factor in any sport is consistency, if you want to reach top of any leaderboard in any sport, if you're playing bad consistently that's a recipe of disaster but if you're playing good consistently that's a recipe of big success, if i can't play consistent i don't care about the rest, i will always stay as mediocre player, doesn't matter for me how winning session can look like, best session for me would be a session where i made 0 mistakes

If we look at it deeply and analyze, online micro/low stakes are like 8 normal players and 1 fish (lets take rough example) and those normal players have really nitty tendencies especially when i'm playing 200bb deep, to beat them i need to be aggressive but in the same time i must make really exploitative folds

This is the hard part to do both consistently, sometimes i just don't fold and most of the time they have the goods, i truly believe that in high stakes or live games i can get away with making more calls without folding because there players play 3bet, 4bet, 5bet pots with much wider range

Here where i play when a reg 4bets, even if i'm holding KK feeling like i must be against AA, if they 5bet it's for sure AA, i saw many times how they just call 3bets with QQ, they don't 4bet enough, out of 10 regs maybe 1 has some bluffs in their 4bet range, some people here may not even consider to fold KK pre but sometimes it's the right play in 200bb deep, it's very hard to make such kind of folds even sometimes i can't fold AK but micro/low stakes reality is different

When i double barrel and face a raise or when they double barrel and shove river they don't have enough bluffs, if any at all, it's really hard to make big folds especially when im holding big hand but here if i want to crush those stakes i must be able to make exploitative folds CONSISTENTLY and be aggressive meantime

So yeah, i believe this is my leak to be consistent with my game

If that's true then given the absurd rake your biggest leak is game selection. If you have H2N you should be able to figure out reg:fish ratio

Yeah i know, for now I don’t even table select, i want to play more regs until i find consistency i need, also bad run is a gift for me i learn a lot how to play when luck is not on my side

In the future for sure i will be table selecting, it’s very possible to have 2 fishes at the table at NL25, from NL50 it gets harder, i wonder whats better to have one 70+VPIP big fish or two 40+VPIP mediocre fishes?

Their loss rate matters but also your position relative to them

I know its better to have fish on the right but their loss rate will be a bit hard to know because usually fishes don’t have large enough sample to check on the website, just lets say you see 70VPIP 10PFR fish on one table + 7 regs you prefer this table or two 45VPIP 10PFR fish + 6 reg? Also there might be a maniac fish option too but passive ones imo better for stable +EV games
