The 10z 30k hand challenge is done Here are the final results:

I just proved to myself I can beat 10z. The results could have been better but I've punted away a bunch of stacks and yesterday I played pretty bad. But really happy with the final results. This means from now on I I'll play 25z.

This will also be the last post on this thread. I'll wake a new thread later this day. I want to thank each and everyone for reading and commenting!

I made a new thread as a follow up to this one mainly because I thought the title of this thread is a bit ridiculous. I was only playing cash for like 1.5 months before I made this thread, so after 1.5 months calling it your "last shot at poker" is a bit dramatic.

But I came to the conclusion that it's really sick to document my poker journey all in one place. So I'm just gonna continue it here.

I'm currently crushing 25z. It will be a matter of time when I'll move up. I think I can actually move up now but since it's been only 2/3 weeks I'm actually crushing again I don't mind playing 25z untill I got some more sample. I'm starting to earn a decent living playing poker only after like 3 months. And it only can get better. I will track a few months how much I'm really making (and see if I'm consistent with it). I will take care of some stuff financially and then I'm planning on moving abroad for a few months or maybe even longer.

Anyone has a suggestion where to stay?

As I said I'm crushing 25z on stars. I can post some graphs now but I don't mind just showing only like monthly overview or x-amount of hands.

Thank you! Goodluck to you sir. I'll be following your journey.

I will be posting results overview @15k hands. And at the end of the month I'll take a look how much I made in the month of April.

Yesterday was one of the most fun days of poker I've had.

I ended up around +1 buy in. I didn't play my best poker, in fact I donated a few stacks. But there were so many fun spots I didn't even mind. I also reached my new rake paid record of $63 (weird flex :P).

      1. Obvious very questionable play. It was based on villain reads (timing and sticky on flop/turns) but other than that kinda punty.
      2. I make a lot of my preflop decisions on villain reads especially when I feel like playing agro but normally I don't 3bet A5o in sb.
      3. Those 4bet bluffs are getting a little bit expensive..... I will 4bet bluff a lot less from now on.

My goal on the table is to play a bit nittier. The 25NLz pool (at least the regs) is very nitty in general so it's nice to take a bunch of hands down pre. But postflop they usually come on the top of their range (atleast thats my perception) and I really like to station. Also 8bb/100h rake is a bit too much imo.

Guess A5o isn't too bad especially against buttons who open like 70%+, also should check their fold to 3b after raise and fold to flop cbet stats.

I don't want to post daily results. But I thought it would be a good idea to write about this in my blog.

It happens a lot of the time that in the morning I just can't focus. My whole life I've had massive focus issues (trapped in my own world) and sometimes it frustrates me. I'm diagnosed with intellectual giftedness as well as ADD and because of this the expectations were always very high in school etc.

For the first time in my life I'm trying my hardest to make things actually work. The main thing I'm working on is improving my focus and also I'm trying to not feel tired 24/7. I'm tracking everything I do and eat for the last month (Haha, sometimes I make fun of myself for overdooing this but whatever). I'm slowly building a "system" where I can play focussed for around 3 hours in total on a daily basis.

      -wake up at 6am
      -Run in the morning
-(50% of the time cold) shower, I don't have the feeling the cold shower is usefull but whatever
      -meditate
      -Warm up session
-Play sessions of max 15 minutes (Pomodoro method with frequent breaks)
-Eat healthy (I stopped eating sugar)
      -No alcohol

Despite all this I still can't focus for around 40% of the time. Especially in the morning I experience trouble with this. The afternoon and late afternoon sessions are going way better. Besides that it frustrates me, it's also annoying to be down 4 buy-ins after 30 minutes of play. And I hate the feeling of chasing losses so then I need a 3 hour break.

So from now on I'll play 2x 15 minutes warm up sessions and if I'm playing focussed I allow myself to play another 2x 15 normal. If not. I finish the morning sessions for what it is and move on to the afternoon session which I usually start around 11:30 AM.

If anyone has advice please let me know!

Unfortunately I had to empty my databass again on HM3 because my shitty PC can't handle it anymore. Obviously very tilting but it is what it is. I'm already looking to buy atleast some RAM to add to my laptop. And otherwise just buy new hardware. I exported all my hands for later data analysis and overviews.

Here are the total results since (approximately) april 1st:

I will play 20k hands more in 25z and if I keep crushing I will move to 50z.

Now I have to regain hud data. GL

So I have withdrawn part of my bankroll for life expenses.

This is currently the bankroll. My goal is to not withdraw untill june 1st.

In regards to moving up to 50NLz: I will now play 25k hands on 25NLz and if I'm beating it by 8.5bb/100h I will make the move.

I will post hands and graphs every now and then

Sucks. Buy good stuff, so you have no worries about side-issues and can focus on poker.

Thanks mate! In order to see my stats I need to import my purged databass (that I exported before I purged it). But I'm afraid to make my pc laggy again so I rather not do that rn. Today I've started a new databass so when I have a decent sample I will share my stats.

      I think my stats were:

      VPIP: 25
      PFR: 23
      Postflop aggression: No idea
      3bet: 11

I also 4betted a **** lot but at some point the regs started noticing it (or they just have it everytime lol) and I got jammed on a bunch.

I will let you know when I have acces to some sample to share my stats

This week I played pretty bad and I'm actually down a few stacks. I'm still up about $200 because of a sunrun in a tournament and rakeback. But in order to make the move to 50NLz I want to be winning with a decent rate over a decent sample. I'm still winning in 25z but not as much as I want to. I'm playing insanely agro and I don't think this matches very well with the 25NLz playerpool.

The regs are very nitty but instead of exploiting them I started doing the opposite by keep calling rivers and keep bluffing turns and river while they are usually on top of their range (with "their range" I mean the assumption I make of what a reg can have in general with the taken pf lines).

So as an experiment I'm gonna:

-Bluf the fish a lot less (I'm still gonna bluf obviously)
      - I will keep bluffing the regs but with my agro image it"s okay to show up with value a bit more so also a little less
-XR flop and turn a lot less (I'm checkrasing way too wide)
-Fold to checkraises a lot more
      -Open and 3bet/4bet slightly tighter
      -Defend less blinds
      -Decrease herocalling regs heavily
-Everytime a tough riverspot comes up ask yourself the question: "What kinds of bluffs does he have, is he ever bluffing here".

A lot of the regs don't bluff in general. Most of them (not all of them) are playing very exploitable. The pool is also full of fish. And I'm 100% confident I'm able to beat it by atleast 8.5bb/100h.

I will share restults of today tonight.

Btw despite being down a few buy-ins and pretty much punting and stationing I'm having so much playing. If I move up in stakes I will continue with my agro style (obviously make right adjustments again).

      (Long post inc)

Okay so let's do a recap of last week:

First few days I played pretty bad, around break-even on the tables with a bit of sunrun. My confidence was still quite high at that moment. I was playing as agro as can be and I had a lot of fun playing. Than on wednessday I realised I had to withdraw some of my bankroll to cover basic life expenses so my br went back to 1k (see earlier post). Also I had to export and purge my databass (see earlier post).

From thursday-saturday I started losing on the tables. Also for the first time since my journey I experienced insane runbad. I have been running very pure the whole time and I don't have the right to complain but I can understand that for mid/high stakes players it can be tough mentally. Also since a long time I started tilting a bit. No monkey tilts this time but I have donated a bunch of stacks those days. In total in those 3 days I was down around 11 buy ins in 25NLz. But because of $200 rakeback and a tourney bink for around 250$ the bankroll looked like this:

(I lost about $100 on tourneys on saturday)

Than I checked my healthcare app and realised I had a pretty big bill to pay so I had to withdraw again. And with the unplanned withdraw, I decided to withdraw some more for a new guitar.

After that the bankroll looked like this:

I exported and purged my databass once again. This time because I have limited databass space, I want to have a non-emotional decision sample to review when I have 100k hands stashed. It's not that I'm lying to you guys or lying to myself. I even wanted to show the graph for some good old complaing about running 8 stacks under ev in 3 days. SO for the big picture please picture yourself a 11 buy-in downswing in a graph. Thanks in advance .

At this point my confidence was very low, so I wouldn't mind going back to 10NLz. But I thought about the 25z pool how weak most regs are. I made some small adjustments again and happily the rungood came back!

Yesterday I had a sick comeback:

My confidence is completely back. I will make the move to 50z if I'm able to have a 30/40k 8bb/100h winning sample again. I also will explain the adjustments that I've made.

So this month has been insane poker wise. I made huge steps skill wise.

3 months ago I started this journey as a complete fish (I had very little cash game experience, only pf ranges). I started in 2NLz and with all the highs and lows I've made it to being a winning player in 25NLz. In the month of April I've made $1.1K profit from playing online poker. Around April 23th I was even up around 1.6k for the month. I know 1.1k isn't the world but considering I learned a "skill" in the space of 3 months that can almost pay the bills is very satisfying. What makes it even more satisfying is that the fact that I'm working really hard for it.

Despite this things are going actually terrible last 7/8 days. I feel really depressed again, unmotivated etc. I have a lot of negative thoughts and I'm really struggling.

Because of this it started with skipping some of my rituals (meditating, going for a run) and yesterday it came to the point where I was lying in bed all day, eating bad, not taking care of myself etc. This obviously has negative results on the poker tables. I'm not losing major money but I started tilting again, playing careless. Also when I win I still feels like “what's the point”.

Last night I decided it's time to get myself together. I woke up early, watched some motivational videos, went for a run, did groceries, meditated, showered and I was ready to play. After 2 sessions I was up around 5 buy-ins. But during the day the negative thoughts came back. And I started playing careless again. I went from one of the most solid regs in the pool to an aggressive maniac who rather donates to East-European nits than to charity (hahaha jk lol). I ended up break-even on the day again.

I think it's really important to get back to the structured lifestyle. Get myself together. I will take 2 days completely off of poker. I will start the next month fresh with new goals:

-Continue the structured lifestyle (wake up early, meditate, eat healthy, run etc.)
      -Max 3 tables of zoom
-Keep track of sessions and other things as food and preparations.
      -Play 80k hands
      -Start with a solver
      -Take shots at 50z
-Try to be around people more often (weirdly enough (or not) being around people makes me feel lonely)
-2k profit? (If I don't achieve this goal I don't mind but I like to set a goal like this)
-Start gaining weight. As soon as the gyms are open, start lifting

Also I think it's really important to develop a mindset where I want to become wealthy and successful for myself instead of pleasing others. Currently the only reason I want to become successful is to please my friends and family but mostly to show a middle finger to the world. I really want to create a mindset where I want to do this for myself. I really want to grow as a person.

Hopefully next month I will continue making big steps. This blog is getting kind of personal. But writing here makes me feel slightly better. Thanks for reading

Of course its gonna be personnal! Poker is wrap up to so much of our life. Its nice that your self aware of the change in the quality of your play and your life structure. I think its always better to be fueled by inner motive. But i totaly get the middle finger part one. Haha.

I know it's not easy but try to not let results affect your mood, tilt you or make you change things in your life. Analyze/post hands, as long as you're not making big mistakes there's nothing to worry about, variance is part of poker.

      Keep it up

      I'm back at it again

For the third day in a row I'm about to run 6.75KM/4.2 miles in under 31 minutes(jinx alert haha). I'm being disciplined again, I'm scheduling all my sessions, I'm meditating, Eating healthy, playing 3 tables max, taking enough breaks in between. I still don't feel amazing but I feel way better and more motivated than last week.

I also started a bulking diet. Because my body has to get used to the increased food consuming I'm feeling pretty tired during the day. this unfortunately affects my performance at the tables.

I'm not playing amazing but result wise it's going great. For me playing 3 or 4 tables of zoom makes a major difference. Also for example sitting up straight and playing sessions of 15/20 minutes really help increasing my results. I'll post results in a couple of days. Because of the 1k withdrawal in April and the fact that I played pretty bad last week the BR was surprisingly low. So I started out in 16NLz and I will make the move when I have around 14bi for 25z (I'm pretty close rn). This should be enough. I'm pretty confident if I'm being disciplined I will crush 25z again. Hopefully I don't have to withdraw again so I can make the move to 50z relatively fast. Obviously I will only consider a move if I’m beating it over around 30k hands to tackle confidence issues in the future (although I’ve already beaten 25z over decent size sample).

Because of my bulking diet I'm having some serious trouble playing focussed. I'm yawning a lot and I'm playing careless last 3 days. I'll continue the diet for 10 more days and if this continues I will have to come up with something else. Now it has a clear reason but those focus issues in general are really tilting me. Although everything is going slightly better comparing to last week I still feel pretty unmotivated. I want to keep pushing and fighting and I'm sure when I'm back on track like the beginning/middle of April the motivation will completely return.

Last 3 days I've been playing 16z and at one point I was up around 10bi. I was actually playing quite bad but alteast I was patient. But yesterday I lost all my patience and I started 4 tabling and mindlessly clicking buttons again. I really need to accept the fact that sometimes I have to withdraw and work my BR back up.|

I think one thing that will stimulate and motivate me is posting results daily. So for the next couple of weeks I will be posting daily results in this thread. Ofcourse I need to get rid of the mindset where I'm focussed on daily results instead of weekly/monthly results but I still think this will be a short term solution and once I'm back on track I will try to focus on long term results and goals. I think skillwise I'm on the right track to make a decent living in the future but I just need to keep working hard and most importantly be patient with it.

I can't wait to start with a solver btw. I looked into renting a server but it's more expensive than I thought especially when doing it alone. I think it's best to buy some new hardware at the end of this month. In the between time I might buy a 1 month subsription for a training site so that I can begin with start using different sizes on some flops.

I will post results at the end of each day.

Thanks amigo, will do next time!

Another disappointing day. I know you can't always win on a daily basis but trust me when I say I start ****ing things up in my last session. I played 2 tables because I'm so tired and this went great. I played 25NLz and despite being a little tired I was making little mistakes. But then after a shitload of calories at around 5 P.M. my mind was anywhere but at the tables.

Again if this diet keeps affecting my performance at the table (I give it 9 more days) I have to find something else.

Tiredness and focus issues always have been huge problems in my life. If I could find a solution for it my life would be so much better. Again I never had any goals and it was always party and bullshit. Now that I have goals set for myself I realize how important it is to tackle those issues.

I'm tracking my food what affects my energy during the day and I have tried multiple diets in the last 3 months. I'm avoiding sugar in general.

From today I will try to avoid dairy products to check for lactose intolerance.

I will also make an appointment with the doctor to check if it's a possibility I have thyroid problems (I have a bunch of symptoms).

If anyone has suggestions please let me know

PS. I know it's normal a bulking diet makes you tired but I've been tired my whole life so please take that in consideration.
