A disciplined routine certainly helps, but here's to not falling off of that fence onto the other side until you are ready.
Thanks for the comment. If you meant going pro at poker is a way to get the most out of life, then I certainly agree. To be at that stage you have to be very good on a technical level though, and still be able prioritize it as a job because you actually enjoy it, and not just because you enjoy the benefits.
I dont know if i would ever "fall over" to the other side and turn into a pro because i think im pretty cynical about poker as a career (obv to eachs own). I do want to try it out as a short term thing though just for the experience.. as i mentioned in Duke0424's PG&C thread, im planning on going on a poker road trip around the states this time next year. Aesah also did something like that and both seemed to have enjoyed the experience.

Snowball I suck at poker but i can provide certain advice specific to you that most could not as I too am a young working professional by day & degen by night and have been for almost two years. For one period I was tracking steady at 20-30 hours a week with a 50-60 hour work week on top for 8 months before some personal stuff slowed me down a bit.
So I'd be a good contact if you ever have the professional life/poker type questions as I'm going on two years now. Just shoot a PM
Cliffs: God be with you
Thanks Ava!
20-30 hours/week is pretty crazy. Ive been putting in some over time at work (which Im doing out of altruism as im not getting paid for those nor am expected to, sigh) and it definitely cut into my hours. Ive only been doing this for 3 weeks and it's already felt like forever, I hope I can keep it up and not be burnt out, but you certaintly showed that it can be done.
Also on a side note, an iteresting thing Ive noticed the other day was that I've ate and showered at home maybe like twice so far. I still havent unpacked since moving in because I literally go home at night and pass out right away.
