Tbh I’ve always viewed molecular gastronomy as sort of gimmcky and should be used to make a plate more interesting, not as a style of cooking or cuisine in its own right.

Hi guys it's been a while. Just a little update to close the thread out then probably won't be posting in here anymore (but who knows). Everything has been good, currently finishing up my 3rd year in a row of hitting 6 figs/yr in live poker. So yeah, have def been running better than the run-bad abyss from a couple of years ago, which a good part of this thread dwelled on. I'm kind of ready to move on to the next thing though. On top of poker I made low 5 figs this year from side/passive stuff and I know I can do better.

I'll write a little more about poker though since that's why people are here. Below is my last ~1k hour since I started using that app (ignore all other numbers except for hours and profit). Been playing a lot of different stakes just whatever/wherever that's good. I try to play at least 5/T or higher but def played some 5/5 too if nothing else is going on. Here are some fun hands and biggish pots from this year.

50/100 ~9k eff
Fun player opens to 300 CO, older fun player calls bb, me 2k in straddle w QQ. Both call.
Flop (~6000): J78ss. X, I jam ~7k
Bb snap calls, we run it twice I hold up on 6 x and T x runouts

20/40/80 ~12k eff
I open 89dd HJ 240, macau reg 800 otb i call.
Flop (~1700): 74hhJ x x.
Turn (~1700): 8ss. X he bets 1.7k I call
River (~5100): 2. X he bets 5.1k I call MHIG

20/40/80 ~9k eff
Random double straddle in utg1. Btn traveling bad reg 500. Me 1.7k w AA in bb. He tank calls.
Flop (~3700): QJ9sss I have red aces. X he bets 1.3k I call.
Turn (~6300): 9o. X x.
River: 8o. X he jams ~6k. I call n wins vs 44

Moving forward I'll def still be playing a bunch but hopefully not as much as before. I have a much better work/life balance in the recent years which makes poker more enjoyable. I went abroad a couple times this year and will probably check out the europe/macau poker scene next year for the first time.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the holidays

Glad to hear things are going well, great job! Definitely curious about what you've got going on for the side/passive stuff, as I'm sort of brainstorming on a bunch of different stuff in that regard myself.

I think the game is definitely to make the money at poker for a few years, grind up stakes until you're able to make six figs consistently, then use the time freedom to take some chances and pursue business ideas/passions/investments/whatever.

Thanks guys.

The "side gig" isn't a real "part time" job yet but I'm hoping to put more time into that this year. It's returns from good investments that I put in time to find and put together (including being able to be leveraged)

Yeah a lot of hours from the bigger games were in vegas. Some were from non-public games.
