Re: My journey to becoming a millionaire

Ok, I am ready to retire, 54 years old with ~$400,000 in my 401k. If I retire now I still get medical coverage until my wife and I are 65 and about $3000/mo pension.

I'm thinking about pulling the pin and starting my own journey to be a millionaire. And I only have to double up once!!!

Should I or shoudn't I?

Re: My journey to becoming a millionaire

I knew you are coopah you sounded like. And the way you explain hands was same too i have read most of other thread before. I even thought you stopped other thread because of roulette thing.
Your thread is interesting and you seem to be cool. And yes roulette is a dangerous game its different than poker, betting and investing in stocks.

Yes imagine buying apple shares before they brought out iphone then you wouldnt need to play poker the whole day or you could play big buyin tournaments such as one esfandiari won or the highstake macau games.

Have to confess I knew it was Coopah. I mean, how many Londoners support Newcastle? Was hardly the greatest cover up of all time.

    Great thread(s) man, gl!

Could you explain a little, or give an example of getting inside of the opponent's head? Meaning a hand that you think you used it or that would show you get into his head.
I think it's one of the things that can radically improve your game but I always had a trouble with it.

Don't really have any hand off the top of my head to describe this, but it just comes down to me asking myself all kinds of questions regarding why someone did something. Preflop, on the flop, turn and river, an opponent will do something and I try to answer why he is doing something. Are they betting the turn because they know i float the flop a lot? Are they min4betting me because they think i think it looks stronger? Are they 4betting more because i think it looks like they are more committed and hence will call any 5b shove? Are they raising this 567ccc flop in 3b pot because they think i will think they 100% have something and will go with it, or just because its v dangerous board and i can't really go anywhere with my AKhh hands etc. Simple questions like, this guy is 3b me alot pf, so i 4bet, he shoves, does he know I know he is 3b me alot? So he knows that my 4b will be lighter? Or is he slow to adjust? .. In 3b pots, are they betting the flop and then going on to betting all Q/K/A on the turn because they have it, or because it's part of their possible range.. Just random questions like these that continuously pop up in my head whilst playing all combine to trying to get into their head.

    One more question.

Once you form all those hypothesis in your head, how do you know which one is true? Which one to base your decisions on? You look at hands they show down and then pick whichever was right?
