And why you open sometimes 2.5bb and sometimes 3bb? Isnt it better always opening same unless blinds are shortstacked?
It's just the way he bet $3k into $3.6. that bet is an attempt to say i have the flush or 7 (but will explain why i thought nothing..) he called flop and turn
so quickly that i ruled out the flush as this (oh by the way, he's not a reg) -- so if any reg reads this and you snap call quickly, i won't ruin out a flush of your range
-- so his timing tell of his calls on the flop and turn kinda made me think he was on a draw with a high club, and as he didn't shove/raise pre, my read was AQ with Ace of
the thing is, when a fish has a hand like A
Jx, so that he has rivered top pair, i don't think they would value bet it like this all that often, they would be worried about QQ+, or me actually having a flush or 7, thats just how i perceive them to think, as they are actually in the main quite passive creatures at the poker table
likewise with the 7, i just don't see them value betting it all that often, they may be worried about a possible flush (obv a reg would never check a 7 on the river once making trips)
so to answer your question, it would be harder to call if no 7. other questions apply to regs only i think, and as this is a fishy, i can't really answer them. if he had bet like 1675 or something , it would have made me think longer yes, idk if i would fold though.
i open 99% 3x from every position apart from the button where i 2x it. If i ever 2.5x or 3.5x it it's because the bet slider went wrong!
