A bluff shove on the river which was successful was posted 5-6 posts above. Now to post one that was unsuccessful...

    Hero (BB): $1,074 (107.4 bb)
    SB: $1,929 (192.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6 7
SB raises to $20, Hero calls $10

    Flop: ($40) K 8 9 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets $35, Hero raises to $105, SB calls $70

    Turn: ($250) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $175, SB calls $175

    River: ($600) 2 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets $321, Hero raises to $774 and is all-in, SB calls $453

    Spoiler:
    Results: $2,148 pot ($1 rake)
    Final Board: K 8 9 3 2
Hero showed 6 7 and lost (-$1,074 net)
    SB showed K J and won $2,147 ($1,073 net)

    Spoiler:
obviously it's never good to bluff when all the draws have missed on the river, but i thought i could let him bluff his possible missed draws, and obv i can't call, so have to raise.. I think there is a high % he's missed here, and I didn't think he would bet kq/kj/kt (doubt he has kings up)

I think the times that he turns up with 8xss/Axss or just gives up with TJ makes the x/r bad.

I'd think that betting just is so much better than x/?, and if you think he's too much of a calling station in these spots it's probably better to adjust parts of your range to go thinner for value.

you say you changed your style the last 30k hand which is evident by the rising redline. just wondering what exactly did you change about your playstyle to get these results? are you playing more aggressive or what?

red line isn't all about how aggressive the player is, although it does ofc help.

I am always trying to remain aware of my position going to the flop, it's alot easier to have a redline going up if you play in position than you do out. but recently, i was bluffing more (barreling & also overbets on turns/rivers to take the pots down), checkshoving more, shoving over turns/rivers more, just flatting pre with AA/KK to action then taking the pots down later... but also I was playing alot more 3max/HU and when I play them games my redline increases a lot more.. but yeah, just being more aggressive post flop, less aggressive preflop. it also helped picking opponents who don't 3 barrel, instead just give up on the flop & turn. that way my floats and double floats will work alot higher % of the time then if i were to float someone who just barrels whole way

anyway, gl people, back in 9 days

      Spoiler:
ok what it comes down to is obviously one thing, does he have the Q...? yes = fold. no = call. so a few factors made me call here. namely, 1) i know he is capable of doing a move like that. 2) my bet sizing on the turn, surely if i had a Q i would bet more to get value from other hands (his thoughts) --> so can bluff river, hence the double float. 3) again, bet sizing on river, if i had Q would i really bet so small? 4) i know he floats in position a lot , 5) he plays 43% of his hands and as he's still a winning player he must be confident in his post flop play, hence like i said in prev 4) , he will float alot, and do the shove over river bet with K high kinda moves etc then minor other details which are not that much of 'yeah i call because of that' but they do add up... 6) there is a busted flushdraw (although i think he raises this on flop), 7) it looks like on river i'm trying to get value from Ax hands vs 88-tt hands.

      Spoiler:
again, if he has the Q, nh... but with all the factors listed above, i called. this spot is entirely villain and hand dependent, gut feeling also. vs other opponents i'd fold here
And he didnt put you on 88+ because you would 4bet there, right?
Or is this ^ just super obv and not even worth mentioning?

lol.. i think sticking to poker sounds better!

but yeah, i've decided i will set a nice goal of 70,000 hands in the next 20 days. it's a goal that i know i will achieve, which is strange setting a goal where that is the case. but i'd rather say 70k hands than 100k hands as it may not be possible to play 5k hands a day everyday with other things in life going on etc...

but anywhere from 70k + hands is nice, preferably 80-90k...

first day back, played a little. but i was tired from the journey as flights were cancelled etc. played 1850 hands, made $1470, ran $3.5k below ev, so whatever, just nice to show a profit and put in a first winning session back from drinking all day for 8-9 days
