Wednesday 18th May - Day 10

Intended on updating this at some point today but due to being up late (will address in this post) and having 2 training sessions booked simply didn't have the time to do so.

#38 M - $215 Freezeout

Started the day again a little later than usual (6pm not 3pm) due to this being the first of the events on my schedule so decided to rest up. Early on dropped from 10k to 7.7k with JJ<KK on a brick runout in a 3b pot. Then fell further to 4.6k in a spot where K10 called on 856-J-5 vs my bb range (readz) in a spot some of my bluffs beat villains hand. Should have expected run good to follow when this happens:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...218_CACAABBD49
Spin a bit and get abso blessed in this spot:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...295_9D3AAF4617

Climb considerably to a point where in the money we have 48 bigs, 76k at 1.6kbb. One of our final notable hands of the day is this weak cooler:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...539_A5A358659B

But was excited to find Day 2, 191k at bb7k sat 82/146, hence the late night.

Other MTT Results

Was blessed in that the above was the only SCOOP I played, although some other big mtt's were on offer. Got to a real strong start in the $215 PSKO on 2.5x starting stack with help from hands like this:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...333_419EE85432
However proceeded to get flush over flushed, missed some flush draws, call/call/fold Q5 on Q42-3-5 blind vs blind then lose a std shove spot, showers early. Couple of other mtt's were grinded but picked up very little momentum. Leading us onto day 11 with the prospect of a deep run in a day 2...

Thursday 19th May - Day 11

#38 M ($215 Day 2) - 138th/3,985 ($836 cash)

After a very productive one on one with Graftekkel which cleared alot of things up for me in my mind started with the Day 2 as well as clicking register for the Thrill. Day 2 however was 9 minutes of car crash. R/f when I get 3bet, r, cb flop and fold then raise pre and check give up within an orbit dropping our stack. This gg's us:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...791_57B6F46E49

Had literally just registered the Thrill about a minute before showers and would have left it if I knew this would happen just to cool off for 20 mins or so. It's super frustrating when you feel you've prepared well and have a wonderful day 2 opportunity just to see it burn in front of your eyes.

#41 H - $1k Thurs Thrill 1m GTE - Day 2

With plenty of advice fresh in my mind which certainly helped, climbed from 10k to 14k, then 22k by bb160 with this helping us secure our first bounty:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...349_A5B9DBE327
A little later this wonderful specimin gives us a full double:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...596_24DD8CE37E
However 2 hands later vs exactly the same guy this takes us a step backwards, little annoying given he had a 1k bounty at the time:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...665_3E3BFD8165

Do a nice hold with KJ>Q10 pre for another bounty, then go on to get slowrolled/nitrolled (villain uses probably about 40 seconds of their timebank) just to find the justice river (admit pre is a v marginal peel):
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...716_A84CE67BCA

From here mostly cruise and hit 10x starting stack, bounty chase for a bit to hit 87k but after a long 11 hour slog of a grind find ourselves on the direct bubble, 110k going back to 900/1800, 51/181. Very nice to find a run despite the misery earlier in the day, hoping to outlast my 9 minute record and run it up

Friday 20th May - Day 12

#41 H - $1k Thurs Thrill 1m GTE - 74/1559 (Total cashes $3,650)

Went in with reserved optimism, understanding how fast stacks can turn round and not to get over excited by the prospect of 6 figs up top. In the first hour I only find one open spot and fall from 110k to 90k whilst being itm. We then lose this for a nice shot at a 2.5k bounty:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...149_94826BFE4D
Spin our way back up however with the following:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...313_C9A05E6DBA
From there however we lose one big pot in a spot where sb limps from 30bb, we iso with A9o and call off villains jam given I think he takes this line with mid-small pairs, lots of Ax, some broadways and I'd definitely expect him to be capped in this spot. Villain has A10hh however, holds leaving us with 6bb where we rip K9 into Fedor's A7, always going to be a difficult to win and bust in 74th. Slight disappointment but obviously happy with the deep run, first ever 1k I've cashed online I believe.

As for other MTT Results nothing really seemed to get going, semi deep run in the Big $55 and as good as mincashed in the SCOOP L which was a $27r, obviously kept table count minimal in order to focus on the Thrilly. Looking forward to the mixmax event today (both L and M) as well as 888/Party events and the fun $320 SKO on Satrs, big final few days (with SCOOP spilling over to Monday), lets make them count heros.

Saturday 21st May - Day 13

#47 M - $215 Mix Max - Bust

Event where I never got going and found myself on starting stackj a couple of hours in with 40bb. Have a 3bet pot with AQ, c/c on a A76-K run out where he jams bit more than pot ott as flush draw arrives, dont think he always takes such sizing with sets/AK but proven wrong as I get shown AQ, zero percent is a tough one to win.

$320 Super Knockout - Bust

from 10k starting dropped to 5.5k, then further to 4.1k at bb300. However do some serious spinning and run pretty decent:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...675_B70AD3248F
meaning we now have a playable stack. Climb on to 44k, however lose a number of all ins just before the bubble with A4<KQ, KQ,AK, 77<AQ and we suddenly have 10 beebs. This showers us about 30 before the money unfortunately with zero bounties to our name:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...692_5058B67A91

#50M $215 6max Turbo - Bust ($375 cashes)

Really fun event to play with lots of spinning up and down, Unfortunately missed the booms but it was lots of flips and 60/40s either way, took lots of bounties then foolishly decide to station vs a rec with KK in a 3bet pot on 957-9-6 where villain has v low fold to cbet and presumed he wouldn't jam 9x on the river given we cover him and we are close to the bubble. obv has 109, my focus today will to be stop stationing guys who probably aren't bluffing these spots, ensure I take plenty of time in river decisions.

Looking forward today which is actually the penultimate day of SCOOP before I take a fair amount of time off with my birthday/gf's birthday, travelling to London and going to a stag in Prague in two weeks time, time to make the 5 day a week 12 hour grinds worthwhile along with all the studying I have been doing, playing 3 1k events today which is pretty big and exciting, looking to keep about 6 players to ensure maximum performance. Let's get emmmmmmmmmmm

Sunday 22nd May - Day 14

Went into Sunday with lots of optimism, looking forward to leaving it all on the table and really grafting my way through the session hopefully finding some sweats. Lots of fun MTT's to report from...

#52 M - $215 Sunday Warmup SE - Bust

Dropped chips earlier with a failed bluff where I attempt to make a villain fold when he has KQ on a Q66-4-K which obviously ended unsuccessfully. Thin hit this hand which really annoyed me, think it's a very straight forward fold ott given villain doesn't flat K7s pre (vs a reg), just have to do a deal with it fold as he v rarely has KK then very often has 44/77, obv once I call turn cant fold riv given the price:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...746_F5BDBEDC38

spin back to starting stack, lose AQ<AK when i 4b rip pre when i open co, btn flats and sb squeezes, do some spinning back up but eventually lose with 22<99 pre.

Party $1,000 1mil gtd - Bust

Had a very frustrating time in this mtt. Seemed to flop a fd in every spot but never found the connection, bottled it on the river lots when they check back and annoyingly tend to show me the bottom of their range. this happened for a couple of hours before losing TT vs AJ pre to spin back up to 25 beebs, geeg.

888 $1k 1mil gtd - 119/1,268 ($2,182 cash)

Certainly more succesful than the previous two mtt's mentioned, with 20k starting stack spin up to 188k by the 6th hour, winning all the all ins as well as this beautiful get there despite a VERY questionable peel pre that I'm still not super sure about, obviously vamo'ing on the flop hoping to get there as we did:
https://www.weaktight.com/h/5744b056d39043f6098b4698

Sat on 188k, 47bb in 45/177 with 162 paid then it all starts to go a little sour.
3b rip Q9s into AQ, 77<JJ amongst other flips have us toppling down, this being the demise of the mtt as we rip button:
https://www.weaktight.com/h/5744b1a3d39043462e8b4839

SCOOP $1k Main Event

Huge starting stack of 56k, by hour 4 had 80k, swimming along relatively nicely. No real eventful hands throughout the mtt, by hour 6 had 27bb, unfortunately we gg in this super standard spot where nothing can be done about it, unfortunate to shower off in this way:
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...904_4BB231133D

Other MTT Results

Third hand of the $100 SCOOP ME we find this where we couldn't have planned a better runout/action, perfect start:
https://www.weaktight.com/h/5744b31fd39043a5108b4794
go on to cash the event, however TT<JJ pre leaves us very short then bust few hands later for as good as a mincash.
Also found a deep run in the 888 Mega Deep. However made my biggest spew of the year where I hope I can get a reg to fold Qx on a Q22-4-2 runout where I bet flop, check turn then jam over his riv bet. Legit took 5 seconds before shrug calling Q9, this with 35 left and I had abso chunks in it, this being for our stack. Really tilted that I levelled myself in game expecting a random reg to fold here (I think he probably should fwiw given I should never have bluffs here, but people hate hero folding). Most unnecessary bluff I've probably ever ran.
What I put it down to is having played about 10 days on the run and my judgement being clouded due to this. Had an intention of taking Saturday off but was then told it's one of the biggest days and I can't really afford to miss it. Should have a) planned ahead my schedule a little better or b) once in the situation took it off anyway. I'm the last person to take needless days off, so if I'm telling myself I need a day off to semi-recover then I 100% need it and should go with that feeling, not be swayed by people saying what a great day it is and that I should play.

Had Day 2 of the $109 phase yesterday, decided to give it 45 mins before regging other stuff as if I busted woulda hit the showers for the day. Obv trolled as after 45 mins I have 30bigs, reg away, 50 minutes I have zero bigs and about 7 tables.

Lots of lessons learnt, going to be doing an analysis of my SCOOP when I have a clearer mind in the near future on here. Took me until today to post the above as I'm so mentally shattered (still am today) and extremely lethargic. last night already started analysing my stats to understand how I've been playing and what could really do with work. Don't really expect to put a grind in until Sunday, lots of baths and relaxtion between now and then, hope you all had a successful SCOOP but more importantly hope you all came away with lots of lessons learnt.

May in Review - Damage limitation

After the nightmare of the previous series and the 11 month battle of fighting my way out of makeup, seeing results like these for the month of May is somewhat relieving and I would have taken it if offered to me at the start of the month. I clearly still have mental problems and insecurities in regards to any large mtt series given the last one could have legitimately beaten me out of poker, so this was a step towards getting rid of that fear. Was actually finishing in the minuses for the month until two days ago post series where I won $4.7k in the iPoker €150 Grand Monday.

The hard work starts all over again despite a very busy month planned (stag in Prague this friday - sunday although ensured i get back for the grind, Glastonbury fest end of month). I need to get back to reviewing my hands lots, running spots lots, focussing on my statistics and ensuring I keep pointing in the right direction. Today WCOOP preperation begins.

Month in Review - June

Limited volume this month due to being all over the place, whether at weddings, on a stag, and even went to Glastonbury at the end of this month, and obviously in the build up to these events I have to be busy with real life stuff in order to plan it.

Unfortunately this has had a knock on effect of not really being able to get my teeth into grinding, when I've been away for a few days it takes me probably a day of grinding to get back to my 'A game' as the momentum of grinding really improves how I play. I've stopped and started alot, meaning my stats for the month certainly haven't been where I've wanted them to be and my ev bb/100 has dropped considerably. I'm looking to put in at least 550 tournaments this month and really push it, really focus on what needs to be done to get to where I need to and re-build that momentum.

About time I posted an update.

I believe out of the last 17 sessions I've played I've lost 16, the winning one being a mere +8 BI's. I'm playing at a slightly higher ABI but my ev bb has been higher than its ever been, feel like I'm playing very well for the most part and continuing to improve.

What's most frustrating is since that one withdrawal I made I've failed to make another one, slipping into 15k MU. Felt like I had finally beaten it but the battle continues. It's really exhausting and heavy going but just have to continue to suck it up and deal with it. Hoping I can spin things round in the near future.

Month in Review - Savage July

Took me a bit of time to post this update given the harshness of July and having earnt that coveted fishbowl status on Sharkscope. Think I lost just about every session I played throughout the month apart from one, and this took it's toll on me mentally. Decided part way through to take more time off than I normally would, with trips to the Welsh seaside, Bristol and a nice vacation in Plymouth for a music festival to attempt to return rejuvenated. Despite thisimproved again for the month, finishing with ev of 9bb/100 both below and above 30bb deep and ran well above EV which shows how brutal variance can be.

Today we had a group session with James Whittet, from my understanding one of his first mental sessions he had hosted. Given he understands the way MTT's work and having been there himself, he gave great insight and offered so much advice on ways you can improve yourself in a consuming lifestyle such as the ones we lead. After this decided to draw myself up some more comprehensive goals compared to usual for the month of August, as follows:

POKER:
Win $10,000;
Play 650 games;
Improve 4 specified stats;
ev bb/100 of 11;
Pull friends tables up on 15 separate days.

FOCUS:
Watch zero sports, listen at most;
Never open FB with any tables;
Log off Discord until < 3 tables;
Keep my goal sheet open during grind to refer to improvements;
Expand my chilled grind music playlist to 10hours+ of music.

COACHING:
Check dev strat after every grind;
Spend 20 hours+ coaching.

PERSONAL:
Jog 8x minimum;
Eat meat no more than 2 days per week;
Earn £200 through personal investments.

Somewhat lofty but have been made to realise that goals should be difficult to reach, not somewhat easily attainable. Also want to send my love to two of the guys who I have been coaching for over 9 months moving up from BITB developmental into the main stable, they've shown true grit and determination to battle their way there, very proud and not looking forward to them giving me a tough time at the tables
