Gl bud. I've been in your position for over a year now. Definitely learned a ton about myself, not only pokerwise, but I also think it's an opportunity to grow as a human as well.

These are the moments you learn the most about yourself and improve as a player. It's so easy to be playing you're A game when you are printing money on a daily basis, but that all changes once your back is against the rope and you are stumbling in an attempt to string some deep runs together, getting denied at every opportunity.

Every player needs situations like this to thrive on. Whether this battle takes 1 extra week to turn it around or 1 year, once I cross that golden bridge I shall acknowledge it was worth every minute of that fight to become better equiped for future wars, to show my true grit and determination and understand that regardless how much the game tries to kick you out of the arena, you are able to re enter and defeat it.

This isn't even about Sundays. If you are in this line of work and aren't super motivated on this special day then you are in the wrong career. Sundays always give yoou the opportunity to reach out and grab that golden ticket with a little bit of magic. It's about the Mondays of the week, after being kicked down and defeated by a big sunday being up and ready to play to the best of your abilities, not missing registration for the 8 rebuy the following day. Being kicked down but continuing to put in all that work day after day so you are readily prepared to give yourself the best opportunities for when sunday comes back around, ready for the war zone once again.

GL to all the warriors out there both for these wonderful Sundays but for the long battles that we inevitably face up to without cowering or taking the easy route out.

Stop worrying about results and simply rely on your ability to make correct decisions. Your skill comes from processing information in an analytical way, not from being able to influence the outcomes. Be aware that it might get worse, but be convinced that eventually things will turn around.

I'd be disappointed if you wouldn't be able to handle this. Your simply too good.

GL Gil.

No doubt you'll turn it around obv. Do you regret anything you have done since you are downswinging? Game selecting differently etc, or do you look purely at it from the ev point of view and then this comes with it?

FS Posted a long ass reply to this last night, thought I had posted it but clearly not.

During COOP I played a lot of high buyin tournaments, at the time I didn't realise but the weakest area of my game was pre ante where playing super deep vs villains. Obviously a huge part of COOP's is how good the structure is, meaning that I would be playing large periods of time at stages which were my downfall. I didn't know this at the time but in hindsight is relatively clear to me, obviously I ran way below EV and it's easy for me to say I wish I didn't reg, but should I be given to go back in time with the skill set I had, I certainly would have played a reduced schedule, so I guess that's my main regret, despite being oblivious to it.

At the tail end of COOP/after my confidence was knocked pretty hard, but again I was oblivious to this. Sub consciously it meant I was doubting my decisions more so I would take more passive lines instead of pulling the trigger where required. It's clear that I need to improve how well I am able to self analyse and be more self aware about such situations, motivation is something I can measure whereas confidence not so much as it is very easy to link the two despite having completely different results. It's a tough lesson learnt but is certainly something I can look at in better light now following this period.

I've started to consider a new line for game selection in regards to that, I definitely feel I beat all the games I play, but realistically I want to be crushing them. I think holding back just a little for now can also help with confidence as I will run into more spots I am able to exploit due to villains being at a lower level. I do believe in general I game select pretty well due to a low turbo:standard speed mtt ratio which is obviously beneficial to both variance and ROI.

Had a review earlier with €urop€an where he took two of my recent deep runs and looked over. Had a few things I need to work on but in general pretty happy with my play, Was able to justify my thought process at the exact moment in time which shows I'm certainly not autopiloting during sessions and give valid reasons for various lines. Next week having my first one on one with Crownupguy (obv next level excited) where hes going to take me through everything I do and what needs improvement, should be super beneficial to me.

Thanks for the kind words of faith from many, certainly going nowhere in the near future Gotze I have no doubt that it will be handled well and will be another chapter from which I gained many many lessons.

Thanks for the kind words and the reads. Helps motivate me towards being the best I can be.

Supernova grind is going pretty well. This week playing 6 days, next week 5, week after 6 etc. etc. I expect to hit SN mid December which is when a prop bet with some friends based on volume ends so this should definitely drive me towards that goal.

Results have continued to go poorly, but I have increased my ev bb/100 which is obviously important and reassuring to see. I'm aiming to have it hit 8 month after month (recent months it has been hovering around 6) which means I'm focussing on more exploitable situations to increase this number.

Thought I would pipe up in here about the planned strike. I'm looking to book a holiday for the end of December with family so realistically need to hit Supernova ASAP to leave as much flexibility as possible for that, so will be needing to grind 1st-3rd december.

I will however be following through with the money withdrawal on 1st December. For anyone who has missed the thread about this (somewhat impossible) it is here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...tests-1569711/

Decided to make a post regarding the Strike, which I ended up deciding to participate in having crunched some numbers and realising I should be able to make it to SN.

I feel like the strike was about more than just the changes and hoping to reverse them. I feel like it was an opportunity to send out a message to prove that all poker regs, regardless of what you grind can unite and stand their ground whilst PS attempt to run a portion of them over (although I do admit there are probably negative knock on effects to us MTT guys with some cash game regs probably making the switch). Whilst the MTT strikers were defending what's in their own interest, they were also defending those who are most harshly effected, the SNE guys in hypers and HS cash games.

Decided to look at the lobbies of some of these games tonight (5/10+), and notice a full table with 12 players on the waiting list. I also discuss this with a friend who said he saw a bunch of hypers running with a bunch of SNE's in them. If these players cant even be bothered to have their own back, then how can we ever expect them to have ours? Maybe I was naive to think that anyone was willing to give up 3 days of a slight increase in profitability for the longevity of these games. I'm borderline annoyed that I have now planned stuff for the next two days as I would be playing otherwise based on today's showing, which is obviously going to be the day where the highest amount of people will strike, after day one more and more people will filter back into their standard games, and I can certainly see why.

Also to the guys who suggest they can't afford to take these days off, then gl being able to afford to play poker for a living when Stars inevitably hits regs with harder blows over time. If you don't feel strongly enough about it to strike then just say it, don't use a copp out excuse, and certainly don't start complaining when Stars issue harsher decisions in the future partly because of the poker community not having enough of a backbone to stand up united against these changes.

Disagree too. Although I'm involuntarily participating in the strike due to rl stuff I don't think it's ever going to have a huge impact on stars policy. They've been aware from the beginning that these changes will negatively affect all stars regs (esp SN+) and didn't care so it's not like we're sending a message of sth they're unaware of. Also Jason Mo discussed this briefly in his latest ChicagoJoey podcast where he mentions that usually a business strike lasts until the claimed goals get implemented by the company. So either every single reg on stars strikes as long as it needs or everyone continues to look after themselves. Just my two cents though.

As a player it's crucial to realize the spots you were talking about in previous posts and I just hope I can get there sooner rather than later. Seems like you are on the right path
Keep up the attitude and gl after the strike.

Remember that this is not like any other job, which makes the strike not being as any other strike/boycott.

Just take the Sunday Million for example. I think most people that play that tourney are recreationals and one time depositors but the regs fill out a solid player base. What happens when that player base gets thinner and thinner? What will be the difference between depositing money on PartyPoker compared to Stars if they offer they same tournies and bonuses?

Stars has built a reputation of having the best tournies, the best high stakes cash games, the best (well) bonuses, the best customer service and a site where every pro play. Thats something to get excited about and what attracts players. Little by little this is getting erased.

Personally I don't give a **** if I play a Big $5.50 that has 8k runners or 2k runners but I'll certainly deposit my money onto the site where the most players are and with a juicier 1st prize.

Yes, given a business strike usually ties up the complete day-to-day business and affects every customer, this Stars strike is even less effective.

I don't see how this example has anything to do with my original statement. If you're trying to indicate decreasing customer loyalty, then unfortunately most other sites miserably fail at adjusting strategies (only site taking advantage of this is prolly 888). If all sites fail to adjust and current stars policy continues, then online poker won't be profitable any longer in the near future.

I guess you're supporting the latest changes then?

Anyway, don't get me wrong. I think it's a good thing to stand together as a community but it'd be naive to think things will turn into better. It's a greedy and profit-hungry company now. Let's just hope other sites will take advantage of this.
