start 610

later than I thought id start. ive heard about changes happening, kinda got freaked out when i saw cards fly toward the middle. kinda stupid imo

rver monster. i hate those spots though. BvB, youre in SB and the BB calls your flop cbet. but i made a mistake by checking the turn and not raisign his bet

also in a $3 satellite. why not. right?

hhehe check raises me like

new software seems a bit laggy

when the river pairs the board...you dont think a spew monkey would have it...but they do

tat was a fun satellite. pause. not! 30 minutes, not one pair or anything. lost a flip ATo<55 (why the guy shoves 55 over my raise pre idk) that crippled me, wound up shoving QJo for 3bb

lksdjf;lkeg;erogj;elgke;goijg. folding to a coled 3bet postflop from what i thought was a decent player (probably still is) after the fish called his 3bet. I had KJo on Jc4c3x flop.

making thin value calls isnt a winning proposition. thankfully, i dont do it,. yet. one limper, 110bb stack min raises in SB, Iflat qw A5hh in BB and limper calls. f KhTh6x. Sb bets a rather small amount. we have to call and not raise, right? i call and limper folds. turn 4x. he checks. this would be a good sign to bet. i dont think he has an AK hand or any dominating hand and there are lkots of draws. i check instead. he bets 1/2 pot. gotta be good 33% of the time. i think its close (ie QJ, AJ, hh type handss) but i dont pull the trigger

left a NLH table, went to PLO for a table

holy hell. the fish flopped the straight vs my TP + OESD. -$6 or so. to be fair, he bet out small and a 10bb stack shoves. i shove over the 10bb stack and the fish, who was 62bb deep, calls. erh.

the value of redraw in PLO.....didnt work this time. 3d2dQdAx = 8h7h3x2h AI OTT 5x4dTdAx.

i dont play much plo, but i know a bad table when i see one....and that was by far the worst plo table ive ever seen

fairly rough session so far. im gunna spare you guys from saying it

more donkeys flopping straights

catch a break. iso raise AxQc in CO, Sb calls and donk bets on 752ccc f. i just flat. he bets again on 3c t. i call again. i would fold to a big bet OTR. Tc r and he bets miniscule. i call and he shows K7, no club.

never know people to not 3bet AKs HU. and then rely on me to bet OTR for them after checks down so they can "lolimadonkmincheckraise".

talk about a roller coaster of emotions! went AIOTF vs a guy who raised pf. JJT8ssxx vs KcTcTx4x on Qc9c4x f. turn 9,. river Q. however, i read it as him having KKxx, so it was a complete surprise when the 190bb pot was shipped my way.

holy **** this is a brutal hold em session.

as a rule, i do not add bonuses into hourlies.

well i finally win a hold em hand. took long enough

im just limping AK....well, calling Ak.....preflop. people dont fold to 3bets, i cant hit, and they stay in when i cbet or double barrel.

So hold em....kinda ****s me in the ass. Aiye. Not one pair in the satellite. And just....it didn't feel like I could win at hold em today. Not because my skills weren't there today, but....I mean, surely you guys know the feeling. I grinded through it though, and start off October with a loss. Hopefully the rest of this month isn't as brutal as today was. I wasn't even in big pots. My cbets didn't work, I didn't really pull any elaborate bluffs, flopping anything was impossible, and it was just leaking blinds and cbets, even cbets on good boards (and I was very selective when to do this). Meh.

I'm going through a few hands before playing a shortish session. Work 230pm to 11pm today, so don't really have time to play any other time today.

Here is an interesting hand. Unfortunately, there are no notes or HUDs on Bovada. Probably misplayed. It's the 77-JJ hands where I'm usually up in the air between 3betting preflop and just flatting. This one, I just flatted.

The flop we obviously have a good amount of equity w/ overpair + OESD. And that is a HORRIBLE flop for a competent PFR to see. So a raise + 4bet/GII probably isn't the worst, and we could have some kind of fold equity vs. overpairs. In fact, the only overpair that we should fear is JJ. But this is just an example of what happens when I'm not aggressive.

The turn is a horrible card, because if I have a set I should be raising the flop. Now,I can't rep a set and I have half as much equity. I think the turn, I either have to raise or fold, because I just don't have the equity if a J, T, or 6 hits.

And then the river is a good card for me, because I can see showdown cheaply. "Cheaply". Preflop is ok enough, but the hand was butchered on the flop and turn.

Here's another hand. Once again, one where I didn't write my thoughts down on, so I have no reads. I can tell you though that SB is probably bad.

Pre-flop, I can fold this. A9o doesn't play as well as even A5o or 76s (not saying those are playable vs. this guy and his stack, but just as a general example). And I mean fold to the min 3bet, given his stack size and the general playability of the hand.

Flop is ok. It's more likely a player like him is 3betting pairs and Ax pre, not Kx. At least I think it's ok. Thoughts?

Turn is a fold. 100%. I have second pair, he has 3bet and double barreled. The flush got there and the river can get dicey. 100% fold.

And if the turn was bad, avert your eyes for the river.

"and then nuts vs. 3rd nuts. i have 3rd nuts." 9/25.

That right there. Nuts vs. 3rd nuts. Why I didn't post more information? I murdered the hand worse than deer during early November. I need to 3bet this pre. QQ is a strong hand, but giving everyone else a great price is a losing proposition. But once I call pre instead of 3bet, the hand kind of sucks. Can I raise on the flop? What happens if I'm 3bet on the flop, automatic fold? We won't fold out any big kings preflop with a 3bet, but we'll fold out damn near everything that can draw out to beat us and limit the pot to HU. But that just shows how one decision preflop changes the whole outlook of a hand.

Something I've learned going through hands:

        1. Fold to min raises post-flop unless you have a beast.
        2. I desperately need more aggression. When I'm passive, I can only gather one piece of information. When I'm aggressive, I can gather 3 pieces of information.

I'm going to start a session here soon. It's early, but I want to get some volume in. Good luck everyone!

And thanks, Brand000n! Hoping for some good news on monday. As for PT3, I'm not using the HUD as it's impossible to use the HUD. But I am using PT3 for tracking my hands, which can be very valuable. I believe the only HUD Bovada allows is Holdem Indicator? It's like $100 though and doesn't go into much detail. Plus, I want to practice a lot without using a HUD, since this challenge is all about gathering up enough of a BR to play live comfortably.

whoa first hand in BB flop (a bad) flush but a flush nonetheless. **** 4th diamond came.

3 nlhe tables, 1 plo table. hey, ive won at plo each session (knock on wood) so might as well keep chugging along

had nuts in plo, got too excited and pot pot pot. river pot was bad.

more kicker problems in PLO. 250bb stack opens, i flat IP w 6789ssxx. f Kc77. OR pots, i flat. turn Jc. he checks, i bet 2/3 pot, he flats. r 5c. he checks, i check. i had bet trn bc i thought he may have AAxx. he did. AA72

two AIs, one won and one lost. ahead in both. plo, AA24xddd > AxKd5d4x AIOTF Th7h2x. he had like 45bb. other one was maybe badly played. two limpers so i limp instead of raise A8dd OTB. both blinds call. f A89r. SB (40bb stack) donks, UTG calls, I raise, SB reraises, fold, I shove on him and he calls w JT. turn Q, river bricks.

pairing rivers have been unkind to me

ah ****. 2 limpers, i flat w KcJxTx3c, BB (crazy maniac) pots and me and another player call. f KxTc2x. checks around. turn 8c. I pot, OR flats, other folds. river 5c. I pot (putting the 45bb stack AI) and he snaps. of course, he has Ac9cXX, the only hand that wins

lose another AI in PLO to two players i labeled as super ugly LAGs. I open, one player flats, BB (who had potted everything) pots. i flat (I have KsKx2s9x) and other player flats. f Qs9s7x. BB pushes AI, (he had 15bb left), I reshove, other player calls.
BB: AJTXr (I was ahead of him)
        Other player: KJ97r (not ahead)
board bricks out, other player wins pot

flopped my first set since sunday. in nlhe. TT>88>KQo AIPF (two SS). F 3ATr, t 3.

second flopped set, ill take it finally

dear dgiharris, you were right, these plo players are horrible. you were also right in saying that the variance is quadrupled.

first time this session thew board pairing OTR works out for me

        wrapping short session up now

You know when I say "I played a little more aggressive" and things? No. Not like today. I played perhaps better than I ever have. Sadly, PLO was my demise today but it was bound to happen. The games were shockingly better than at night, which I'm not used to. Losing money but playing better. And I'm not like angered or depressed or anything either that I lost, and that's because I controlled what I could control and played as well as I could given my knowledge.

        My obsession with football.

What can I say? Ever since I remember, I always wanted something to do with the game of football. When I was little, I had a damn good arm for throwing the ball. I always wanted to be the quarterback, be the leader. At the time, I didn't know nor care that the quarterback got the money, the girls, and the glory. I just knew he got to throw the ball, and I loved throwing the ball.

My family was dirt poor growing up. My dad was obviously nowhere in the picture, and to this day I hate him for it. I won't give him a second chance. Sounds hypocritical, but he had over 10 years to contact us and he never did. He never even tried. My mom worked 40+ hours a week at a children's retail store. She still needed food stamps for four kids. There was no place or money for me to play football. There wasn't a place for me to train. We lived in a side-by-side slightly off of campus. My elementary school was more concerned about alternative, hippie jargon than actual physical activity. There was no such thing as football there.

We eventually moved out and went to a different school district. They had middle school football. Me and my brother went out for it, but they just assigned us positions based on how we looked. I was assigned guard. I didn't like it, and at the time I had no perception of the logic of the work "team." I wanted to be quarterback, so I quit. I quit right after going through two-a-days.

Going into high school, I wanted to try football again. I learned a little bit about sacrificing for the team. The coach was different. He let us try out for whatever position we wanted to. Naturally, I tried for quarterback. I was a bit bigger than most of the quarterbacks, but the coaches still let me try. I finished the competition 4th out of the 5 people that tried for the freshman team. I kept that 4th string spot, proudly in fact, but at that time I also plugged another spot. Ironically, guard. I did so well at it, in fact, that me, with no football experience, beat everyone else out for one of the two starting guard spots.

The season was atrocious though. We scored our first touchdown 3 games into the season. Our second one didn't come until the 6th game of the season. After the 8th game, 2/3 of our team either quit or was academically ineligible. We had 12 players left on the team to fill 11 spots on offense, defense, and special teams. I turned into both starting guard and starting defensive tackle. Our best game of the season? The 9th game. We lost 33-14 (the other team scored a TD as time expired, it was 27-14. Douchebags.), effectively doubling our touchdown output for the first 8 games with fewer players. I played every play except one. The day after, though, I couldn't get out of bed. My back was killing me. The week after, I was taken out of the game because of a blindside hit helmet to helmet and I couldn't walk straight because of it. Concussion.

During the offseason, my back was checked out. It was then that the doctors officially diagnosed me with the Schuermann's disease (kyphosis, scoliosis, and shortened hamstrings). In fact, the only good thing with that diagnosis is that I have a much higher than normal lung capacity. My football playing days were over. Which was a huge shame, because I was offered the starting fullback job on the varsity team (my legs are built and I have massive lower body strength). But I loved the game after my only full season of playing. It's a damned shame. But it instilled a huge competitive edge in me, and increased my obsession with the game.

Buckeyes don't play until 8 tonight, and I have the day (don't know how) off. Going to start a session after I review some hands, perhaps mix in an MTT, and hopefully get off of this beginning of the month losing streak that I almost inevitably start with every month. Good luck everyone!

4 nl tables today, 1 satellite to event 45 of the gso. satty is $3.30, tourney entry is $22. plo8. as we know, my first ever ft was a limit O8 mtt

hmmm seeming fish just 2x pot bet a board of 3hJhTxKxKx after calling a bet OTF multiway. I had AJ.

thats interesting. i iso raise limper in BTN w JJ tight SS in SB insta pots me. i tank. i know i have JJ. but SS just dont do that with hands im ahead with. fold?

when someone donks and i have a good hand, is it better to let him donk or raise his bets?

the key to o8? play both high and low hands atthe same time. just doubled up, which is awesome.

two flopped sets, same time. me likey.

FT of the satellite. top 3 get tickets, 4th gets BI back. sadly not in best of shape in chiups

3bet 99 vs fish. A popped up on flop but still gotta continue firing

        first table change. damned nits.

eh lose a 100bb pot. new table, a 50bb stack min raises in UTG, other player flats OTB, I iso w AQo, UTG calls, BTN folds. f 8TJr. he has 40bb left. double gutter + probably either A or Q, im comfortable getting it in. we do OTF, he shows QQ and I brick out. good to know he is willing to go broke with QQ in a 3b pot on a board like that.

see, theres a difference. A3s plays sooo muhc better and easier than A9o

focusing on satty now, on money bubble but SS

that was a tough hand w JJ...he was just bet bet bet after a squeeze. but an overpair is just 1 pair
        5
ITM in the satty. guaranteed $3, 75% chance of ticket

ugh finished in 4th. big stack knocked me out after i shoved AAJ7ds. he hit low two pair. least i got the BI back (minus the fee)

win two all ins back to back. AK>88 AIPF (mid stack tried limp/shove) and KK>98o AIOTT QT38

meh i took a line i had seen induce a super spazz from a player on the river. he didnt spazz this time though

        bunch of T6oness lately

wrapping session up. after like 215, bunch of zilch.

I didn't play my A-game, but I played better than I did Thursday. More raising and aggression on my part. So in the middle. I really wonder though how much of that is just from me checking the scores, watching football from the side of my eyes, etc. Meh. Winning session + (a losing) cash in an MTT (3 table) isn't bad at all though.

3nl, 1plo. the tables are veryyyyyyy slow in loading. been sitting one 5 minutes and not a sniff.

plo is not plo8. spotting the fish

this is going to be a dragging, slow session i can already tell

30 minutes in is the first big hand. i have AxKc7c5c 4 way. SB bets, I pot raise, fish who plays every hand calls and all else fold on the flop (it was Kx23cc). t Jx i pot bet, fish calls. r is 5x. weird card. gives me two pair. i think i should bet this, but all the club draws missed but some straight draws get tere. i check, he shoves. he's been relatively passive thus far. i feel he would raise his sets OTF and OTT. why would he wait until the river? but then again, ive seen him play every hand and he was the one that keeps playing plo8 hands like A234 and 3345. but i did show weakness. eh. i folded.

even tho this is the slowest session ive seen in a while, at least im crushing my fantasy game. 92-66 and i have Dez Bryant playing along with Arian Foster and Terrelle Pryor left. he has a couple no names left.

only the second "big" pot ive played. won it w AA on a T4362 board

first AI won vs 16bb stack. AK53ds > 7789 AIPF

second big pot won. river nut flush w TPTK.

but i am dead serious. there havent been many rough spots or interesting spots

hmph. pair every card on the flop in PLO. there was a flush and straigh draw out there. the flush draw got there, along with one of the straight draws, then the other straight draw gets there. yes, vs the same guy who plays every single hand

thinnnnnnnnn value betting in PLO. raising a small amount with nuts when its obvious you hit the flush

win my second all in...actually third, didnt mention KK>Q5s for a whopping 18bb. AA94ssxx>KJ62r AIOTF KQ8

no play tomorrow by the way, for any that actually read this stuff. leaving around 1130am tomorrow, not getting home until about midnight. meeting at hopeful school at 1230 then straight to work to work a 230-11

iojhdijwFPO crap spot vs spew whale. he pot raises again (he does this every hand and ive seen him stack off soooo amazingly light) and I 3bet in SB w TT. he flats. f Jc8s5c. I bet, he calls. t 4s. i just dont feel comfortable bs him. i check and he insta shoves. i can stack off much better vs him i think. and he would do this with like J6. so i fold. right play?

holy **** blindsided. open AA, fish who is the worlds juciest calling station calls and so does BB. f 3cAs7s. check, i pot (bc he'll call). he calls, BB folds. t 2x. I pot, he shoves ($1 more) and i snap. he shows 54o. sucky thing is, he'd call down with Q8 all the waythru on a board like that

        wrapping up session now

End to a frustrating end of the session. That TT hand is something else. I'm 90% certain I did right by folding, but I wonder if that is a 3bet preflop. And the AA hand....I gotta tell myself that fish have to get lucky to keep wanting to donate. If not for those two hands, I'm in profit for the day. Because of those two hands, I lose half a BI. I played alright I thought. More aggressive pre and post flop. Probably 2nd best playing day of the month. The tables started off rough, as in a bunch of no action. They loosened up towards the middle and end, which is nice. I think I managed a slight profit with PLO too today, which is good. And I'll get a $10 bonus tomorrow for (a puny) 75 points last week. All in all, it was a productive session.

The job offer would have put me at ~$30k, which is twice what I make now. I would have been Full Time though, put in at least 50 hours/week, and no time to think about completing school. If it was $90k I would have snap took it. Turns out it's a good thing I turned it down, because they recently (about 6 months ago) eliminated that position. So I (perhaps very unwisely) made the right decision. And there's no way I would have had time to get my Associate's, which I do have now.

I also saw what people with that job go through. Trust me, it was not worth $30k a year. I saw people's health deteriorate rapidly.

Hopefully, if I can get this poker thing rolling, I can eventually just study, get my Bachelor's, and play live poker.

Good news/bad news on the life part today. Met with the adviser for my petition for reinstatement. She snap accepted me back because I had gone far and above expectations for people academically dismissed.

Bad news: For some idiotic reason, the gpa I got at my community college does not transfer to the university, but the credits do.

I say idiotic because when I applied to a university further away from home last year, they accepted my community college gpa and credits, and it gave me enough so that I was also accepted into their education program. At the university by home, I would at best need 4 whole semesters at a 4.0 just to be eligible to apply to the program, or, more realistically, 3 1/2 years (7 semesters) at a 3.5 gpa to be eligible with the minimum requirements in a competitive major. And if I did get in, it would be another 2 years on top of that.

You guys want to know how big the difference is between the two schools' gpa? The one at home starts me back at what I had, which was a 1.67. The one away from home started me at every class I took, which put me at a 2.70 BEFORE autumn semester classes were factored in, which would increase it to about a 2.8 or 2.9. That is a MASSIVE difference, worth thousands (I'm talking around $35,000) of dollars and a few years.

Which puts me right back into square one and actually opens up a bunch of possibilities.

        1. Try a different pathway at the home university. Mathematics major is pretty much the only other way. However, I would still have my 1.67 gpa, not a 2.8.
        2. Try a local, private school. I think I found a cheaper one nearby, but I'm not sure if my grades would transfer.
        3. Abandon everything here, go up with my gf, get my 2.8 gpa and stay there for 3 or so years.

        Great options.

its a beautiful day outside, so ima play out on the deck outside and hope the umbrella shades out the sun long enough

making a semi bluff on first hand w/ 2nd pair and flush draw. but apparently i made it against the worst player at the table. learnt my lesson

first AI won, AhAx>KxQh AIOTT 2xKh5h8h. SS

man this was a bad idea. i may have to go back inside, so difficult to see

back inside. i think im about even for the session so far,

you know what sucks? pimples right above the lips. looks like herpes, but isnt

another 2nd pair + FD. this time though, i had raised pf and had that advantage

first flopped set nl. eh pot

flopped royal flush draw with nut flush. was actually debating 3betting pre OTB w AJcc. not too much reads on the opponent though

holy nerd. saw someone type in the chatbox "my hand is the same hand that John McCain had at the senate hearing". fail.

people dont like folding. this i know.

ewww. freaking gross hand. 115bb stack limps in SB, i check w Q9o in BB. f 7TJr. he pots, i raise. semi-bluff, obviously. he flats. he has something. Jx, two pair, something. t Kx. bingo. he bets again, I raise, he flats. r 5. he bets, leaving himself 30bb lft. i snap shove and he flats w 89. thats the beauty of the semi-bluff. they dont expect it when you hit your hand.

its amazing how often iso raising and cbetting can win a hand

i benched tony romo for the fantasy game last weekend for pryor. 21 point different. i also benched fred jackson (he was playing my browns) for benjarvus green ellis. 14 point difference. i still scored the most points in my league and won by over 30.

left the table i had 210bb on. i couldnt steal bc guy to my left kept 3betting while i had meh hands like KJs and the table was starting to die

ooooo 56Q f, i have 789Q. big hand i assume. right as i type that, i get disconnected for some reason and immediately reconnected. second time its happened with the new internet. anyways,. i got back just in time to pot raise OR. he calls and turn is 6. he checks and i shove, because i assume thats a good card (especially against a AAxx or KKxx hand. and if he calls i have decent equity OTR.

the battery in my wireless mouse finally died.

        breat: misclicked fold preflop
brag: would have completely whiffed flop

nice big pot with AK. two limpers, i squeeze, 95bb stack calls OTB. f Ad8x8d. beautiful. i pot it because he'll stay in with any A; he'd fold to any bet otherwise. he calls. t Kx. best card. i half pot it because i want an easy AI OTR. he calls. r Jx. i shove, he calls w A5, i scoop the nice 185 bb pot

accidentally limped (i dont even remember clicking anything on that screen) but once ya play, ya gotta try

another AI won vs 40bb stack. misplayed the hand though. rivered nut flush (flopped 2FD and didnt cbet).

        wrapping session up now

Well, that was nice. I raised more liberally pre-flop and took more advantage of aggression opportunities postflop. I made a couple of good hands as well, but I do believe the betting patterns and ranging helped me with those hands. The omaha was a little frustrating after building up a $5 profit, seeing it dwindle down with bad flops and the such. But I did play well and the hands were played a lot cleaner.

3 nl, 1 plo. its not going to be uber long, im a bit tired tonight

tried to run a bluff....eh double barrel...vs obvious draw. but then the draw completes and he insta donk pot bets. ehhhh no

hilarious argument in PLO. 2x9c6c. donk 1 has 2x2c3c7x. donk 2 has TcJcQxAx. donk 1 says donk 2 has 11% when he goes AIOTF. sounds closeish. donk 2 says he actually has SEVENTY ONE PERCENT! 71%!. and donk 1 was a donk because he pottedevery time ever y single street every hand.

an A always shows up in a 3bet pot when ya got JJ or QQ.

just seen a guy call an AIPF w 82s..?????

BB special and tried the river overbet after there was a guy willing to play. he tank folded (probably like K9 or something)

i am dumbfounded by some of the stuff im seeing tonight

this has been a slowwwwww session. no AJ+ or KQ. been pedestrian

ah phoey tried a hero call and failed. one limp so i limp w 75cc and blinds play. f 4x6cAc. check, BB (who...well, we'll just say he isn't good) bets out and I pot raise. BB calls and we're HU. t Kx. he checks. thats a horrible card. he is never folding an A. never. he is basically a calling station so the hand is over for me basically if i cant hit the river.

sad. it takes me 1 hour and 10 minutes to play in my first pot over 50bb. just as an idea

so i assume TJQKds is a good hand. the board comes 67A3ds....none of my suit lol

damned time! so bad in card distribution tonight. "steal" w 55, both blnds call. f Qh5xAh sopping wet. checks to me, i bet and SB min raises. i tank and say "A9 no good" aND reraise. he shoves and i call. AA 3bets, QQ 3bets. bunch of draws, A5, anmd AQ. he shows AQ and i fade the A and the Q.

and i get "lucky". but i called myself lucky. i open 33, SB 100bb stack (he's a bit looser) min 3bets. Im getting 4.5 to 1 expressed and 45 to 1 implied. snap call. f 9c3xKc. he checks, I bet, he calls. turn Tx.strange card. he checks, i bet, he calls. now im suspicious. x/c twice? after a 3bet pre? im crushed. its not AK. its not AA. he would fastplay those hands and i am prepared to fold to just about any river card.

except the case 3, which comes on the river. he shoves. i snap call. he shows KK. i cant really say i got lucky, because most of the money went in on the river (75bb each). especially since i was definitely suspicious and knew where i stood in the hand.

Well that was unexpected. An hour 10 minutes into a pre-determined hour 30 minute session, I hadn't been in a pot totaling more than 50bb and was really treading water and being patient. 20 minutes later, I have a 300bb stack on one table and leave with a nice +1.5 BI day. Unexpected. I was tired and I'm still tired. Long day at work. Card dead + tired kind of nits me up, but I was rather aggressive pre-flop (and I've been seeing that make the game soooooo much easier). Yeah, coolers, but they happen both ways.

might be a no coffee night sadlky

        playing 3 nlhe, 1 plo, and 1 $2.20 MTT

hahaha thats....i cant even be mad because its so stupid. 16bb stack limps, i raise, he flats. i have AKo. f K99. he shoves and i snap call. he flips over AA. lol i go AIPF easly with that hand (AKo) vs him. so stupid but hey, he's lucky i hit

nut peddle plo. seems like the right thing to do

well, the power just went out. flickered in and out but enough to disconnect me for a bit. strange that it went out too, because there is not a cloud in the sky and the temp outside is probably down to like 65 now

ha! fish are the trip making kings of the world.

heres to hoping for a good flop w JJ in MTT

nittiest MTT table ive ever seen at the $2 level thats not a FT

ah ****. MP min raises, two call, i flat in SB w T9o. we're all deep. f 9hThAx. checks, CO bets, I raise, OR flats andf CO folds. turn is Kh. **** me, right? every single hand completes and now crushes me. not putting another dime in when i know im beat (yeah, AQ....but even that is a small part of his range)

win another AI: QT > J2 AIOTT J968. SS.

ugh. was in a massive 270bb pot and didnt win....
didnt lose either. in omaha, we both had the absolute nuts (34567 straight)

squeeze plays do work! just cbet with equity is key

break from MTT. not much really to speak of, slightly below starting stack

another AI won vs super short stack, JJ > 54s AIOTF 52T.

**** me. JJ < TT AIOTT vs 35bb stack 5678 board. river 9, chalk up some sklansky bucks

and missed a huge wrap AQT8 on 2KJr. turn gives me flush draw IE 20 outs OTR. river pairs the board, not a diamond.

damned, raped by blinds in MTT. BB one hand, immediate next hand transferred to be BB at a different table, then next hand blinds go up for my SB

its been a rough go for the last 20 minutes lol

nearly triple up in MTT ad boy AA came at the right time!

aggression does pay off. potted pf in omaha and potted a monotone flop. tok it down multiway

finished the MTT in 108. that was the worst piece of crap i have gone through in my life and i think mtt grinders are just begging to go to the insane asylum. like you have to pick a spot and commit to it. but it kept going and going and they weren't folding so i fold and fold and be patient ad find a spot w AJo where a guy who has pot raised the last three hands does it again. i shove. he calls and he has AK. thats not a play i have to do in cash games. but i do in MTTs bc i want to get all the money in good when i can yet also protect the stack.

and ended the session with a loss AIOTF vs a 100% PFR in Omaha. I had KsJsJxTx. board is Ts9x8s. his hand? AcAsTs7c. the one hand I have amazing enough to get him, and he has me. heh.

Overall, this was a stupid session. I grind and grind and played pretty well. But then the well just dried immensely (although I did do well for myself during the session). I wasn't feeling great spots to take that aggressive line, and there weren't thin value spots or any chances really to value bet. And losing the AK to AA on a K99 f and losing the JJ to TT really was the difference between a loss and a win. And **** MTTs, a bunch of time for no reward and really shallow understanding of the game.

So I decided what I'm going to do. There is a small, private college about 30 miles away from me in a small town. I don't mind driving 35 to 40 minutes each day to class because I drive 25 minutes to work each day and last year drove about 35 minutes to school each day. Plus, it'd be about 20 minutes to drive to Ohio State. And it's the cheapest private school around (there is only one public university anywhere around Columbus; the rest are private. I don't know why the Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Toledo areas have more public schools than Columbus). $21k a year for tuition and stuff is about what I'd pay if I packed up and went to a public university with the $12k tuition and living off campus expenses. The major difference is that I would get to keep my job year round. I know, $9.30/hour isn't much, but the continuity and benefits are (I'm going to start contributing to a 401k soon, which they match 100% up to like 5% of my weekly paycheck, 2 paid weeks vacation, sundays virtually off). And I hate to say it, but I'm essentially untouchable there as well. Plus, the school has my exact wanted major, and traffic isn't an issue as the school is the opposite way of Columbus.

Plus, I do have very good prospects of even more promotions if I want.

This morning I've been studying some hands of mine and some threads in here for about an hour. As of Wednesday night's session, I'm playing 18.5/10 with a 4% 3bet. Slight but not as good improvement as I would like. The major improvement so far, which I had noticed, was a 2.53 AF. This is up from like 1.8 or whatever it was in August and September. It's a small sample size, but there is winning statistics going along with it. Less calling post flop, more aggression, and more cbetting. Led to some drastically better results. It's still a small sample size, but I have to keep it up.

I''m going to play about an hour session here before work. Get some hands in. Let's do it! Good luck everyone

very first hand BB special, flop nut flush. get literally as much value as i could from a hand with no flush draw at all.

3 nl, 1 plo. plo this time just to get some volume in for the quick session

one min raiser pf and a min 3b and a call and i have AA in SB. i 4bet to $1.3. FOUR PLAYERS CALL THE FOUR BET PREFLOP. f 8dJx4d I have Ad. i just bet and one of the SS calls AI w KJ. t 7d r 7x.

huge whale sitting deep like 450bb deep at my table

        he is now 600bb deep

another bb special. learning when players will bluff.

ummm...the first ten minutes were great. the last half hour i could probably sleep and miss nothing

come on i flop bottom two vs the 600bb fish (J4 on AJ4 board) and the board runs out 77. I wasn BB btw and i got to see flop for free

tables are starting to die. and i guess so is this session

The session started really good and then kind of just plateaued. I was a bit tighter, but that's because on one table the 600bb whale was opening to 8bb every hand. I never got a pocket pair on that table. I never even got a playable hand on that table. Wait, I got JJ once. But I just kept my head above water on that table. The other table, after my initial hot run, just fizzled. Also card dead, and there was one spot where I cbet but I'm unsure about it. 33 multiway on a Jd7x7d flop. Hits a bunch of calling ranges with draws and TP and such, and it really is hard to get anything to fold on that board. Omaha was ok, maybe breakeven. Nothing really major happened there. But that's what happens with 1 hour sessions. You don't get those amazing spots or enough reads to know what to do. Except for that spot where I had two pair, bet bet and let the guy bluff the river because I knew he would when every draw missed. Never complaining about a winning session, but boy was it boring.

No play yesterday, worked all day. And my work schedule is extremely screwy the next 3 days. 3-1030p, 1230-9p, 745a-4p. Bleh.

Anyways, I was going to post the two pair T9o hand, but apparently I can't open or copy the HH? Seems weird, since I can replay the hand quite perfectly.

In the hand, UTG min-raises, MP and BTN call, I flat in SB w T9o.

        Flop : A T 9

I check, UTG checks, MP bets $0.55, BTN folds, I raise to $1.55, UTG calls, MP folds.

        Turn : K

Here is what I think is the worst card. AQ completes, AK completes, weird QJ combos complete. And the fact that he min raises pre-flop and cold calls a check/raise post flop on that board is a bit concerning. It feels like that card just sucks completely for me because it smashes his range. So here, is it best to just give up? I only beat non heart AQ and AJ on this board, and that would be very thin for the way the hand is played.

        Spoiler:
I check, UTG bets $4.55, I fold. He doesn't show, but in the Hand Replayer I see he had AA.

Anyways, I'm going to finally get a decent session in tonight. Need like 11 points to get the $10 bonus, which is just about an hour. But I'll play more than that. Good luck everyone!

damn. first AI lost. in PLO, KJ99ds < QQ34ssxx AIOTF Kh2d5d (there was a SS in the hand too, but AIPF). t 3d, r Q. sucks out OTR

the omahahaha has been a demise so far today. only table where ive really lost monye

holy hell cant even get luckier than that. starting a table HU guy opens pf and flops a boat w T2o.

limping with suited connectors IP (along with other limpers) is always profitabl;e

i cant get this guy to fold and i have position on him. jesus christ. ive lterally lost all my profit and some on that table vs him. just make some adjustments and tighten up my betting and floating range

urgh for a promising start to a session this has been absolutely absurdly stupid since. carddead ansd opponets flopping it.

more frustration. gett KK, 100 VPIP fish flats and flop gives an A. but at the same time i win a nice pot in PLO w nut flush

sucked out twice. once i flopped nut straight, guy rivers obvious flush and im not calling his donk pot bet. then, AIOTF flop flush vs two pair in omaha, guy runner runner hits full house with a different card

i am getting so tilted because everyone came downstairs and making so much god damned ****ing noise

they went upstairs finally. i love them, but i cant concentrate on 4 tables while they're asking me questions and being loud. its different with live poker because its just one table and you're trying to put a good image forth ie action player

I am surprised I'm down as little as I was. The session started great, then just a bunch of zilch. I didn't bring my A-game, which was strange because I went a little active before the session and even took a nap. Sometimes, you just can't bring it. Although I really wonder how much of it was just being card dead. Eh. And then it just crescendo'd when both my brother and nephew came downstairs. They were quite loud, but I was determined to just get the 2 hours in. So yeah, my game wasn't my A game today, but the cards didn't help and hey, a couple different river cards and I'm in the positive. And after tomorrow when I get the bonus, I'll just be higher than my BR was before the session.

And I'm going to bring up a good point. You can't always bring your A game. Just doesn't happen all of the time, so you simply can't just not play when you're on your B game.

already played 2 MTTs earlier today, finished 27th in both. a $1 ST SS and a $2 SS PLO

4 NLHE tables this time. focus on that game

well that was a relatively easy $3. starting a table HU SB shoves pre. i flat w KK. KK > A2o. yeah.

sweat for $5. AA > QJs AIOTF 4s7s8x. turn and river brick for me. twas a x/r from BB, kinda active

theres a hand i dont like. i hate it when players join a table and post in like CO. because you assume theyre bad but at the same time you get a hand like bottom of your UTG opening range. what do you do?

note to me: when i make a move vs weakness, i need to bet more to you know, maker it appear the card gave me the goods

well, AA twice in a row at one table. first time just get blinds. second time in BB, one player limps in UTG, poster new player min raises, two call, I pot raise, UTG, poster, and BTN call :O f Th9h9x. I pot bet, UTG calls, all else fold UTG is mid stack. he shows KQ and i fade for the nice pot

misread. open TT pre, BTN 100bb stack calls. I'd been decently active but shown down winners. I'd say he was probably the tightest player at the table. f 2d Kx 8d. I check. misplay. i need to cbet there to get value from flush draws. he checks. interesting. turn 3x. I bet this time to get value from his diamonds, and he flats. i'm pinning him on FDs, smaller Kx's, and 8x. river is Kd. I'm 100% positive this is the worst card in the deck for me. i check, he checks and my TT is good. he had 44.

in hindsight, i probably won more money by not cbetting. he isnt calling a cbet from me on that flop. but that still doesnt make me not cbetting that flop for values from draws and such

first set, decent pot from new player

great hand on my part. UTG 100bb stack opens to 5bb. he has done this every time he is in UTG and frequently overplayers his hands. i flat OTB w 99. crushes his range. f 457r. he bets pot, i flat. t 5, putting diamond draw on the board. he pots again. i tank and think. and shove. he'll call his 7 and 88 and draws. i know this because he shoves his PPs preflop most of the time. he tanks and calls w AQo (????). river 3 and i take the 220bb pot

sadly, i have to end the session after an hour. got another 8 hour work day today.

first AI lost today. flopped set, uber SS flopped nut straight. why he is playing in a raised pot with 98o and 15bb is anybodies guess. eh.

Ready for this number? Largest winning session in FOUR MONTHS. And that includes the MTT losses from this morning. I played my A-game today. This is evidenced not by any of my big hands, but by the fact that I 3-bet 55 OOP pre-flop. I only do something like that when I'm alert and feeling it. Sadly, I can't play anymore today or else I would. It does help when the card distribution goes well too and you're not just calling bets postflop with no plans.

Tomorrow, unless I wake up at like 7am or 8am, there won't be any play. Seriously, a freaking 1230pm-9pm work shift and then come back at 745am the next morning.

Also, the players just seem worse in the late morning/early afternoon. Maybe I should start playing more around those times.

        Hi everyone!

Nope, sorry to say I haven't quit this challenge yet! Just a stupid weird work schedule that's had me work exactly close to half of the total hours in the days the last few days. I'm tired, so it's best for me to just take this time after work to just rest and relax. I'll be back on the tables tomorrow morning.

        Good luck everyone!

sorry for the delay. i got a call from my manager last night at 930pm asking me if i could switch from 345pm - 9pm to 745am-345pm today. so obviously i couldnt play this morning

down $2 already from playing two hands and not getting folds. eh.

i can see a difference immediately. im being played back at wayyyy more at night than i do in the morning.

first table change. from hold em to omaha. yep, teh table are that dry tonight

A7hh is a raising after 1 single limper hand with position? or is this a limp along with hand?

i want to be aggressive, but sometimes there are just good spots to not be aggressive. looser player opens in UTG and I flat OTB w KQo. f KJ8r. he checks. odds are i have the best hand and he is way behind. a bet here folds out worse and only gets calls from the very bottom of the range i beat. IE AJ, KT, if he opens T9 from that position. turn 8. he pot bets. once again, way ahead/way behind. raise does nothing. so i flat. r J. he checks. after i call his bet OTT, he is never calling a river bet with crap. but i coulodnt call a raisel. so i check and he shows TT

lost my first AI to a super SS who's very aggro PF. generally bad. JTo < KJo AIOTT J4676 board

won another AI, this time OTR. had to piece this one together though. player min raises PF, 75bb stack flats IP ad i call w A3cc. f 2c4x4c. i check, OR bets, IP guy raises. strange. IP guy has seemed rather tight, but there isn't much he can have on that bopard. i could very well raise (is that best?) but i just flat and OR flats. t 6c. check, check, bet, i call (I really need to raise here), OR folds. r 7x. i check (AGGRESSION!) he bets 1/2 pot. i tank (sort of hollywooding) and push him AI. he calls w QJcc

final hand of this short, ugly session : JJ loses to a guy who turns his gutshot. eh pot.

Short session, I'm tired. I needed to play. I wasn't as aggressive, but the boards and hands weren't going my way. Also, the play seemed much less fishier and the tables were dry. Like a bunch of nits gathering together to make a nit sweater or hand jerk some sausages. Homemade. With mayonnaise. Not bad then to only lose like $3.

So I got perhaps the best email I could have gotten during my brutal stretch of work from the college I'm hoping to attend.

        1. They do calculate my community college GPA along with the old GPA that I got. That alone is a huge boost.

        2. My community college GPA is the one that is used for a scholarship worth between $2000-$8000 a year. That's massive considering tuition is $11k a semester and I definitely couldn't pay for much on my own.

        3. They're still enrolling for spring semester, which is also great news.

        4. It was easily the most detailed email I've ever received from an academic adviser. I feel like he actually read everything and tried to relate to me.

So I am snap applying there this morning. Yeah, the tuition cost and cost of driving there everyday may be more than shipping myself away to some public school a hundred miles away. However, I get very cheap room and board with my mom (not that I plan on living here throughout all of college), I get to stay entrenched at my workplace (there is a lot to be said about staying at a job, no matter how much you hate it), and I will still be just a couple of miles away from one of the biggest poker rooms in the state for when I finally complete this challenge. So just great news overall.

Going to try and play a session this morning after I apply and stuff like that. Hopefully I play better being rested, and then it's off to day 10 in a row of work. 3rd such stretch in a month and a half, but thankfully today's the final day for that. Good luck everyone!

i usually cbet after 3betting. AKs, 3bet, a call, im oop. f 986. i dont think that's ever a good flop to cbet

yuck. QQ < KK AIPF vs loose aggro in a good squeeze spot for him. eh, not much i can do in that spot

oh my this is a bad session. not only am i missing, but my cbets are being raised and when im IP im not even getting a chance to cbet due to donk bets. yeesh. this is going to wind up bad

wht the **** did i just see? a min raise pf w 63s, calling two pot sized bets, then hitting the gutshot OTR?!?!?

that felt good, winning myfirst AIPF. QQ > 99 vs. a 46bb stack.

improperly folding desnt get on my nerves as much as it should

good pot. open KQhh OTB, both blinds call. f KQdd6x. SB donks (i havent seen this much donking today in ages) BB folds and I smooth call. t 9x. he checks, i be, he shoves, i call. he shows K6. good job

fancy place. the application asks for a title. i hate being called mr. hate it. i know, im going to be a teacher and it comes with the territory, but id much rather just be called by my name. my name is not ohsnapzbrah by the way

flush vs. flopped set. i guess J9dd is a hand i could 3bet preflop? but idk. haha and the guy said "I figured i was going to get flushed. had to see it though." My favorite line to hear during the small amount of time ive played live poker

starting to gain a little bit of traction in PLO

wow. i made a mistake and SB pays my mistake off. i 3bet 77 in BB BvB and he calls. f 8s8cQs. check, i check (would i really bet a Q here?). turn Qc. crap. he checks, i bet...he foldfsd?!?!

wrapping this slow session up now

This wasn't an exciting session. This was rather drab. Taking out the big AI QQ > KK, I won slightly, but let's face it, there wasn't much opportunity. The session was drab and dragged on. Yeah, the games did seem a bit easier, but I couldn't really capitalize. I'm not sure if getting it AIPF w QQ there was the best idea, but I think it's right more often than not. I'll post the hand once I have access to it.

its really hard to miss a flop when three of your cards work together...or four. happened twice in a row w ATddK and then lost a 45bb AI to a chronic pf pot bettor. he pot, I 3bet pot w QhThJ9 he flats. f Ax5h3h. i have to cbet with te equity i have. he shoves and im priced in and turn a Q but river does nothing

im up slightly over 1 BI since starting Omaha. i dont think thats too bad, considering i have a small understanding of the game.

left the original plo game i was in. after the chronic pot donk doubled up, he left and the game broke

seriously, the hardest player to play against in PLO is the pot pot pot donk.

the best tables are almost always the ones you start

does flopping sets in PLO count?

lot of 3betting from me today. especially in the SB,. something i need to work on is 3betting outside of the blinds

omg i flopped a set in hold em but only get one bet. should have not x/r the flop

variance train, lets ride. or we can not ride it and have the donk bettor fold. UTG (he is rather loose) opens, i flat w 54ss in BTN, both blinds call. f 2s3sQx. check, big blind donk bets, OR folds. this is a flop i want the money to get in on. so i raise. SB folds. BB tank-folds.

fun hand. I open AQo in UTG, 5 handed. BTN 3bets and BB shoves. i cover both. i fold (rather easily) and BTN calls. BTN shows QQ, BB shows AA.

theres a plo hand that makes little sense but im positive a fold is good. two limpers, i flat OTB w Q85Thhxx. f Q75cxx. checks to me, i bet, CO (loose passive) calls. t 3c. check, i bet again, he calls. r 8c. strange card. he donk bets 1/3 of the pot. flush is the only thing that makes sense, but he is passibe. QcXcXX is the only thing that makes sense. one thing is certain though: folding just feels right

big ten football is not ugly games and bad offenses. i swear! ........this 7-0 MSU-Purdue game sets a bad example, where the 7 came from a defensive TD. besides, Michigan State is like the red headed stepchild of the Big Ten

switching a 30 VPIP table for a 53 VPIP table. score!

i am absolutely running over one of these tables

there's a good move with equity. BvB vs 100bb stack i view as competent, i raise K4hh in SB and he flats. f 7h2h2x. i cbet, he min raises. my plan is flat and bet on any good card (K, A, heart, etc.) t Ax. I bet, and he folds

that new player didn't stand a chance. i dont give new players the benefit of the doubt. he raises, first hand in pf and i flat w AQo. f Ad2dQx. check, he bets, i flat. t 9x. i check, he bets, i raise, he calls. he has an A or FD. r 8x. i overbet pot. he thinks for a tiny bit and calls and i scoop the 120bb pot as he shows AJs

        PLOhmygodletmeconnectwithaflop!

connected with a flop and won an AI vs super SS. T983ssxx > 9864ds AIOTF 5cJc7x.

then very next hand get quads. very nice!

another AI won in hold em. QJo > Q9o AIOTF 6QJ vs. 35bb stack. a little more won as well because the pot was multiway originally

i hate cbetting IP vs shortstackers. very uncomfortable

note to self: dont bluff bad players

3bet bluffing 53cc and double barreling...until i river the straight. i feel he had like TT or JJ. but perhaps biggest pot ive won with 53. to be fair, i did flop OESD with it

hahahaha same guy steals from BTN again and this time I don't 3bet JJ from SB. he bets on a 4TK f, I flat and checks down on K t and 7 r. he shows AA.

leraving the plo table . up to $15 then crashed back down to $10. lots of aggressioin...with bad hands....and other than two hands i couldnt connect at all with the boards to take advantage of the bad players

one more go around and the session will be complete

Today was my A game. I was focused and on top of the games from the get-go, and the results showed. I was 3betting and stealing a lot more, pulling moves when I could, and folding properly to aggression most of the time. I don't know what the secret is to tapping into my A-game, but I definitely need to tap into it more often.

i think im going to do 4 nl tables today. that's where my biggest edge is in poker

just joined a table and saw a 190bb pot AIOTF 333. one player had TT, other had AJ (wtf?). river was the case 3, and the player with AJ wins and calls the player w TT a fish.

first AI won vs small stack, KJo > ATo AIOTF 9TQ. bc, you know, i only go all in with the nuts.

doing ok so far on the three "harder" tables but just run over on the easy tasble. ironically, it's also the one on the far right where i usually do the worst on

cbetting on A hi boards after 3betting is, for some reason, so extremely profitable

good pot with aces. open, cbet, check, call pot donk. EZ game

its been relatively slow so far. maybe because im not on my a game but still.

one table just died, switching to 1 table of plo and 3 hold em

        i should 3bet that iso w 99.

ehhhh should have raised there. saw a tight player donk bet multiway on a Jd7d5x flop and I had KK. it kind of froze me.

dammit made a correct call in a huge pot and get drawn out on. 9c7c < Ad5d AIOTF Ac9d7d. for a 230bb pot. the only reason i called is because i blocked so many hands that beat me and there are sooooo many draws on the board.

whew taking a pee always makes me feel better

first set. ok pot, wonder if i could have gotten more., previous hand i open and tid w a cbet on a monotone flop. this hand i open 77 in MP and tighter player flats in CO. f 2x7d4d. i cbet, he raises. bit worried about the diamonds on that board, so i 3bet. he folds. should i just flat that raise and continue on?

well, i just 4bet TT and won at showdown. no biggie

the more i play plo, the more i understand about it

wow another flopped two pair and it gets rivered, but this time i fold on the river when its clear im beat. so, put .35 in behind and like $5 in when ahead and fold the river correctly. we were 4-way going to the river and three of us started the hand 120bb deep. the guy who won called down with the worst hand till the river K

theres....i think a wrap draw? got it AIOTF w 9763ds vs 559T on a 358r flop. turn 7 river 4. huge pot for me

then lose an AIPF to a donk (he really is a donk) SS JJ < A7. he hit a 4 card flush when i held one of those flush cards as well

So today's session was completely different from most sessions. I started kind of not into it and at my c-game, but then throughout the session got better and better and elevated into my b-game. So that's a good thing to know, that I can play better during a session than I did at the beginning. I got drawn out on a lot during this session. It happens and it's poker and at least Bovada gave me back one of the draws in Omaha. But it's bound to happen. Hey, as long as Mr Sklansky's line keeps churning upwards, I'm A-OK with that. And, because of that big Omaha hand, it pretty much saves the session. Plus, I got enough points during the week for the $10 bonus, so overall not bad.

hmmm. strange, i couldnt join a table. let's try this again

that was very odd. missed the seats i wanted too

ahhhh. first big hand, i 3bet a fish w QQ. he flats. f 4JT. I bet, he calls. he has like 75bb. turn 3. i shove (he has ~1psb left). he calls and shows TT. sadly, he'd do the same with Jx.

and then win a nice AI pot w QQ. two limps, one iso raise, I flat in SB, BB (17bb stack) shoves, fold, massive 430bb whale flats, tighter seeming 270bb stack flats. guess what it's a good time for! i shove. both big stacks fold. QQ > 54s AIPF

4 times I get QQ in opening 10 minutes. I guess Bovada knows what PP ive got the least this month

mmmmmm stone cold bluff. yes, usually it's a bad idea. but the board ran out perfectly. two limps, i limp OTB w 64o. f 7h9xQh. checks to me, I bet, one caller. t 2h. check, i bet again, he calls. he doesnt have a flush or Qx. its more than likely a Ah7x or T8 or something. i bet again bc thats the only way i can win and he folds

unprofitably altering my game when a whale is at the table. limping AQo along with limpers instead of raising. dont do it. he'll play along anyways

i hate it when people just get the best of me from never folding.

win a big pot from whale with JJ. nothing interesting, two streets of value he called w an underpair.

first ever straight flush on Bovada and win a 94bb pot with it (i dont think its the first ever straight flush for me, just seems that way)....and i won it from the guy i said above was getting the best of me. suck. my circumcised. well, you knwo.

99 OTB facing a raise from UTG who has raISED past two UTGs and a caller in CO. is this a good spot to squeeze, being effectively 100bb deep?

i was soooo happy today. i saw powder peppermint mocha coffee creamer! my favorite easily, ever. ad if you think im a chick for that....meh i dont care, its good!

first set. damn the donk bet doesnt work. i donk bet 1/2 pot on Kx2d6d f. i did it because there are a bunch of flush draws amd AK, Kx hit and a lot of people tend to donk boards with flush draws. unsuccessfully

ewww thats a gross spot. open KQs from UTG, all fold except 45bb stack BB. no real reads. f 74Qr. x b c. t 5. x b c. I thought he had like a QT or something at this point. r 3. he donk bets pot, leaving himself .25 remaining. ewww. a 77 is really the only hand that fits the pattern. 66/76 is possible as well i guess. but i have to fold. too often is that a hand that crushes me.

hmmm....this is going to be a tough spot.....but aggression pays off. mega whale opens to 6bb in MP, another fish flats OTB and i flat w AJcc in BB (it's way ahead of his range). f 3x6sAs. check, OR slightly more than pot bets, fold, I raise to almost $5. he fats. he has JJ+, i dont think ever an Ax that beats me. t Ts. I shove. i dont put him on a spade draw because he'd bet smaller otf. he snap folds.

4 handed, open AQs, fish calls OTB and BB (probably a meh player) squeezes. call, fold, or raise?

leave a table on a good note, flopping top two

holy hell i just saw the worst AKs played ever. on mega whale table. BTN limps. I likp in SB and BB (mega whale) checks. f Kx2dTd. checks around. turn Tx. i bet out, fold, call. r Tx. check, BTN bets 1/3 of the pot. i call. He had TPTK + NFD + BDSD, and he never bet until the river. i dont understand that.

second set, first KK, big whoop of zilch

this last half hour has been ugh. few hands, few combos, few spots, whiffed flops....meh

ummmm. complain and get rewarded? 3 limps to me in BB, i check w Q3cc. f AK6...ccc. i bet, two callers. t 9x. i bet again, one caller. r 5c. great card. i shove because its almost clear he has a FD and hit. he tanks...and calls! ship the 195bb pot my way! .....he calledwith A5o, no clubs.

ha ha ha ha. my first AA of the day comes at the tight table. but i still get paid off. check the river to induce becase he was weak and known to do it. he does, scary board but i call and he shows air.

It was a good session. I was on my B game, definitely not A game, but not C either. I wasn't as aggro as I want to be, and I had a massive whale table where I had to adjust my game so that the whale would play with me. He did. I didn't steal as much either, so that's an area I gotta work on. A lot of missed flops and floated cbets, so I lost a bit of money that way, but can't really argue in a session where you win more than 1 BI.

so far....its been bland. ive tried a few things, all quick failures

i havent had a single cbet work today so far lol

just took down a nice showdownless pot. 3 limpers so i limp (probably bad) w AJcc OTB. f Ax8x4c. check check check bet call i flat folds. t Kc. good card. check, bad player in CO pots and i shove on him. he's bad and would call this with worse aces. he thinks and folds.

hmmmm. tight player opens in UTG and I 3bet AKo in CO. I should flat w position but i want to work on 3betting not in the blinds. he 4bets, and rater quickly as well. wow. i was planning on folding but its a lot tougher to actually do it with a hand like AKo preflop.
(but i do it anyways and fold)

its funny. anyone else at that table and i shove, except for him

and then of course in 5 minutes after that at that table i get AKo 3 times.

first AI won. KT > 87 AIOTR K6K67. overbet shove works once again

cbet of 0%. that might be better this session than my normal 63%

dryness for a long stretch and then flop a flush vs two SS. get one of the SS stacks. 76cc > J5dd AIOTT KJ5ccc4x.

ewwwwww i suck out on a fishie. I get TT AIOTF of 447 and he shows QQ. river is a T....im good a lot of the time there though, so no biggie

        taking a quick break

fall in ohio is 2 weeks of actual fall with 10 weeks of differentiating between summer and winter

win an AIPF vs SS (it seems the only time i ever get to go AI is vs SS) AA > 77

the first cbet....ok, second...cbet that worked!

4bet and TID vs aggro. not sure if its better to 4bet KK there or flat KK vs him

K6hh. perfect hand to 3bet in the blinds.

win another AIPF vs 7bb stack lol. AKo > QTo

first one lost. overflushed by a fish. meh. it happens.

closed one table out bc it died, replaced it for the final 10 minutes with .10 limit stud h/l.

IDK how im just barely up today. strange.

Today's result is highly disappointing. Was up about 1.5 BIs and then...IDK. I started on my A-game and I was feeling it, but slowly as none of my cbets got any respect my game just kind of deteriorated. Disappointing session for starting so good.
