Hey Everyone! Starting this thread to document my poker journey, and maybe meet some like-minded people in Vegas.

I got into poker playing 0.25/0.50 NL in college, played like an ultra-nit (until I read Let There be Range, lol) and turned $50 into $750 during the semester. I loved reading 2+2 stickies and also played some 2nl and 5nl on FTP ($50->$130). Stopped playing poker and started playing SC2 which I played on a team during grad school. Been working a job in analytics for ~10 years and moved to Vegas during the pandemic for the climbing and weather. I played some 1/3 while some visiting friends gambled at the casino, remembered how much I enjoyed poker and I've been playing every week since!

Currently playing 1/3, BR up from $6k to $7.3k over 35 hours. Also down 10 buy-ins at 10nl on WSOP over 3k hands

Short-term goal is to play 8-10 hours per week over the next year, moving up when I have 20-25 buy-ins for the next level. Also planning to finish reading Applications of No Limit Hold'em (and probably re-read and take more notes). Long-term I'd like to be winning enough to make ~$40-50/hr live (so probably this would mean being a strong 2/5 or winning 5/10 player).

I'll be posting some HHs after my sessions, I usually play Fridays and Sundays. I also play chess most weeks at the casual chess club (https://casualchessclub.com/)

What type of climbing you interested in? I’m headed for WSOP and wanted to get some climbing in but I hear Red Rocks are way too hot at that time of the year. No shade to chase?
