I never knew u lived in Toronto. I've been trying to book shoto for a long time but everytime I do its booked. Ive tried 2 weeks in advance. Did u try the tasting menu ??

Cafe boulud I've heard mixed things about but I wanna try it. I've went to Daniel Boulud's restaurant Daniel's in New York and that was awesome. You got any other places you like in Toronto ?

Hi Alex, grats on sne.
What's the deal with the freeroll point I have? Can I cash it in for the vpp bet for tomorrow?
Cheers

Mouldy Onions is a lock for 12x vpp Alex, get on it. We're not just handing out A's here anymore.

First about shoto, yes you have to book in advance, actually I booked it the day before I got really lucky, around 10am to noonish if you refresh you can snag cancellations, also this month its slow, maybe because of the cold or something. If you want a party of 3 or 4 its a lot harder. There is only one menu at shoto, so yes.

CB NY is a 1 michelin star if I recall correctly. CB Toronto is not recognized in that way but the head chef is hand picked by Daniel Boulud, it has the same recipes and many of the other chefs are transplanted from CB NY.

All in all, its my favorite restaurant in the whole world pretty much. Toronto isn't really ready for a balling restaurant per se so the prices are almost half of what they would be elsewhere. So it's actually a value restaurant even though most people don't see it that way. If I lived in yorkville I would be coming here every other day. **** now I want some lobster bisque lol.

Another cool thing is that CB stepped up their game recently, they have special apps and entrees from time to time that are much higher priced where they just go all out and show off their A+ game. As someone who would be going to CB even if the price were double, that's just gravy.

One time I went and the manager came out and we talked about the restaurant for a while. They made a special dessert not on the menu for me and my friend, and he gave me his card and followed me on twitter (LOL) and told me to make sure he knows about it every time I go to CB. After that I feel like everyone in the place knows my name and that plus the service sends this place way over the top for me.

Any other places in TO? Hmm, I mean it all depends on the mood. I like Zanzibar over upper brass because its more chill, and you can get half bottles. Black hoof raw is very casual and you share the food but its kind of out of the way, good for dates though. Same with barchef (v intimate environment kinda), though kinda upset they pulled the peking duck club sandwich from the menu (seems like a small miff since its a place to drink not to eat, but that sandwich was really ****ing good).

Also Hemmingways is standard,... I donno... I could list a bunch of places but each place has their own niche kind of so it really depends on what you want to do. Some of the best times I have had have come in the most unlikely of places, eg. I would never walk into a vegan shack (near st. andrew) .. way too hipster for me, but someone dragged me there and it was really good. So maybe just try **** out.

I went to the 3 star Daniel's in New York and that was awesome. I will def try CB. I really like Black Hoof. Is the raw bar the fish restaurant beside it ? . Have you gone to Bent or Lee's yet ? I havent been to Lee's in years, but they have this thing on the menu, Singapore slaw, that was one of the best things I've ever eaten.
I haven't read this whole thread, did you relocate to Toronto after bf?

Questions

Raw bar is beside it, yeah. Try bream sashimi if they still have it.
Have I gone to bent/lees? Nah, doesn't really interest me (nor the singa slaw)
Relocate -- no, I was born in Toronto.

Do I use glasses? Yes, gunnar halogen onyx. I think they are overpriced but they work and are very useful for me, makes the light way less intense and allows me to focus on the screen more. I have tried the lower end gunnars and they absolutely suck, do not go cheap.

I gave a link here: http://www.amazon.com/GUNNAR-Compute...en+onyx+gunnar wow, they have come down a bit in price, I guess this isn't the newest model anymore.

If you are staring at a screen 70 hours a week then I would strongly suggest buying the glasses... lol.

I'm having the same problem here. It seems like my glasses degrees are getting higher as long as I play.

Random rants

Hey guys, I think a $100 freeroll is so motivating for me to play 20k vpps a day I am thinking to have it every day, not sure best structure for people to claim it though. It really helps me play.

In other news, I sort of left exercise and eating right behind in the last while, I can do like 1/10th of what I could do before and I gained a bunch of weight too, and everything is such a struggle. Very disappointed in this ... I am thinking to move downtown in a few months and I need to be in shape. Yesterday I felt ****ty and I ate a steak, half rack of bacon, a bunch of pizza, fried chicken, etc. I'm such a weak ****. You would think losing 42k in two days doesn't matter / affect you (as I do), but then you do stupid **** that basically shows that it did, thats not an excuse but like I'm very disappointed in myself, so now getting back on that train too.

If I ran seriously bad yesterday and today instead I donno what woulda happened, that makes me feel pathetic that it only takes 4 bad days in a row for things to change, and also even I can get shook from 2 days even though I don't feel shook. Man anything can happen.
