Although I don't think PS should or will do anything to prevent Alex from attempting the challenge. I do think that it would be an extremely harsh blow for the the image of online poker if something did actually happen to him. I remember some story of a kid that played x amount of some video game (starcraft I think) and he died. Something like that would be detrimental for online poker. But I think realistically Alex will not push himself to the point of physical injury. He seems like a sharp enough guy.

I don't wanna get drawn into some big debate, but did you notice that Stars recently posted blog updates when one of their Team Pros played every single MicroMillions event and barely slept for 10 days? This sort of **** - people going for new VPP records etc, grinding the **** out of everything that runs - makes PokerStars so much money. You think they would ever have introduced SNE if they felt they had an obligation to encourage people not to play more poker? Come on.

Just wanna say that i followed your thread last year and in general respect you from what little i know. However i don't get why you and some other people think it's "pathetic" to criticize this challenge.

The guy posted on a forum and wanted feedback, it doesn't all have to be positive. A lot of sensible people are going to be of the opinion that what OP is doing is not monumental/historic/groundbreaking but unnecessary and extremely unhealthy. Not to mention that IF the OP is so mentally fragile (and I'm not suggesting he is) as to be affected by negativity in his thread then he certainly shouldn't be doing this in the first place. Now lets have less of the complaining when someone decides to have an opinion which is different from yours.

Tens of thousands, if not more, kids around the world put in the same number of hours and attention at video games, that OP would have to do to accomplish this. Chill the **** out with this dangerous stuff.

I wouldn't be too worried about the stress etc. as long as you're not foolish. Just listen to your body and when it tells you a spell is needed take it. If you have to readjust your target later in the year to 6 or 7 milly, just do it and don't think of it as a failure as it's still sick. Really hope you get there though.

It's very sweet, but also pretty amusing to see so many posters genuinely concerned for AWice's mental health itt. There are literally millions of people all over the world who'll put in more hours than him, performing mind-numbingly repetitive tasks every day in much worse surroundings and with much less freedom and comfort, for a micro-fraction of the reward. I'm sure he'll be fine!
