Hi there!
I'm another micro stakes grinder who's tired of breaking even. From now on I'll be posting everything I find interesting from my sessions along with the results.
I could say that the main goal of this "challenge" is to leave to the small stakes once and for all!! but the true reason for which this thread has been made is to improve my game. Therefore I'd love to read your opinions and I'm widely open to everykind of tip or criticism from your side
All this being said I'd like to share some info about me:
I'm a 21 years old law student from Spain. As a poker player I reckon myself as a solid, tight and steady player. My "Achilles' heel" might be folding too much when it isn't clear and doing wild things after a bunch of badbeats
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the point where the journey begins: 110$-5nl
I know the sizing of the 4bet is too small so he made the call and got lucky. Guess I was playing too much tables at the same time :P
I'll decrease the number for the next session.
Another point that made me burn money was the Cbet, I only got a succes of 28% out of the 76% of the times I was cbetting the flop :O
Don't really mind the losses as they came from a couple of set up hands. But there was a hand I played badly. I'd like to get some tips on how to extract more value of this kind of situations:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.05(BB) Replayer
SB ($1.80)
BB ($5)
UTG ($5.05)
Hero ($10.86)
CO ($5)
BTN ($5)
Dealt to Hero A K
fold, Hero raises to $0.15, CO calls $0.15, fold, fold, fold
FLOP ($0.37) J 7 9
I checked villian's stats and I found out he was betting all the time after a missed Cbet so this looked like a perfect spot to c/r. For some reason I ended up just calling instead, wanting to c/r the turn, which I later found to be a big mistake as he was very likely to be holding a pp here and might has hit a set.
Hero checks, CO bets $0.28, Hero calls $0.28
TURN ($0.93) J 7 9 Q
I check again hoping to see a bet from a decent heart/set/bluff...
Hero checks, CO checks
RIVER ($0.93) J 7 9 Q K
Hero bets $0.49, CO calls $0.49
Spoiler:
Hero shows A K
(Pre 50%, Flop 97.1%, Turn 100.0%)
CO shows 2 2
(Pre 50%, Flop 2.9%, Turn 0.0%)
Hero wins $1.82
So, what's the best way to get any extra value here?
I decieded to call after thinking for a while as I didn't expect him to call such a big Cbet with A high, should have shoved the turn instead of check/calling anyway, right?

The cbet size is this small as the flop came kinda dry and didn't want him to fold. After rewieving the hand I don't think he would have ever folded any paired broadway there anyway.
I've changed a bit the way I was playing. I am raising 4bb with strong hands rather than the 3x I used to raise before. It seems to be working as I make bigger pots and can value bet harder!
ps: It's cool that my red line isn't falling straight to hell!
Hello!
I've finally managed to get rolled for 10nl, it has taken me a while. There been moments when I almost gave up and thought of gambling, but I managed to calm down and keep going afterall
