This thread is a challenge and thread i am creating to motivate myself to play and play well for the rest of this year.

Going to start with $100 on stars.

Will play zoom probably 6max for the most part and MTT/sngs.

Bankroll Management (sticking to this like its the law)

I will play 100bb deep cash and must have at least 50BIs or 5000 BBs (what ever way people look at it) to play that level.

2nl - $100
5nl - $250
10nl - $500
25nl - $1250
50nl - $2500
....etc etc

For MTTs i must have at least 200BIs to enter a toury. With a small roll to start of with ill play more mirco buyin 90 mans then when i have a bigger roll i can play some of the 180's and maybe some toureys from the tourny lobby as long as i have 200BI's.

100-200 - $0.50
200-300 - $1
300-500 - $1.5
500-700 - $2.5
etc etc

So I have started with 50BIs at 2nl and i never want to deposit again and if stick to this rule it should hopefully stay that way.

bankroll requirement for 2nl is $100 and for 5nl is $250, seems a horrible thought and waste of time at first to grindout $150 profit at 2nl! Thats why i am going to mix in some very low buyin mtts sngs to help boost my roll up in these early stages as 2nl and 5nl i can and should beat.

I can beat 2nl and 5nl as those games iv got some decent winning stats at them so im confident if i stick to my brm rules i can go from $100 to $500 beating 2nl and 5nl and i guess 10nl will be a level iv not got much experience in.

Rough Guide until the end of the year.

$100 to $250 in August
$250 to $500 in September
$500 to $1250 in October
$1250 to $2500 in November??

^^^^^not putting pressure much on the above as i can only play my best and put in volume but if i get to the end of the year an im comforabley playing 25nl i guess im ok with that.

Out side poker im wanting to get in better shape/fitter etc as i have been quite lazy recently and takeaways and slobby food is pretty much become my diet :/ Just under 5 months left of this year so i think 50 times to the gym or good workout within that time is achievable. Being disciplined about working out will hopefully carry over in a good way to my poker.

I want to save up £2500 mainly from my full time job which isnt the best paid, im working in an office, but im pretty sure there will be redundancies, there was a couple earlyer in the year, and im pretty sure there will be more soon, could be next year or could be next week im just sure it will happen so i just want a bit if savings if i get the bullet.

I live in a small town in the uk, i will plan to have 3 weekends away to other citys by the end of the year.

Will begin grinding later this week and will chuck up graphs and updates maybe once or twice a week. Will be working a job Monday to Friday 8am-5pm with occasional Saturday 8am-12noon so ill try to fit in my gym after work and grinding in evenings and weekend.

Any suggestions to my bankroll management would be great, its just huge in poker.

Like you said, dont worry too much about the time scale goals. Just get the volume in and the results will come.
Id definitely start mixing in 5NL sooner too

Just to update bankroll is up to $121.67

been playing 2nl 6max up about $12-$13 from those games, then think im up around $8.50 playing $0.50 sng mtts.

Outside of poker, im going to be leaving home by the end of the month, probably within the next 2 weeks. This may affect my goals as obviously im going to struggle more now to save! Shall see how the next month develops.

Going to try and grind really hard over the next couple of weeks before i leave to make the most of the internet access, as iv no idea how easy or how much of a hassle it is to get internet set up.

Anyway going to aim to go to the gym/work out 10times by the end of this month.

bit rusty! not been running great, some really tough hands came up, just spewing very heavily.

think im going to stop 4 tabling for now, spewing far too much when im on a downswing, back to the drawing board! also its frustrating playing such small stakes im sometimes playing farr too loose and making unnecessary plays.

went on a 9 buyin up swing over the last 2k hands, was in the zone! was running well at last.

will put up graphs tomo, then ill try to update graphs every 5 days ie on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th/31st each month so that there is a little bit of structure to the updates of this challenge

feel im crushing this 2nl lark, played a few sng mtts too but for them i feel im better off in terms of winrate just sticking to cash games. so far in the sng/mtts i haven't really cracked much 2nd or 1st places for a big bankroll boost but have a bunch of final tables so no big scores (by big score i mean about a 6 or 7 dollar cash for these 0.50 tourys lol).

outside of poker the gym has been a fail have no motivation right now for it so giving up on that. im also moving out next week so im gonna find it tough with bills and all that shizz, need to quit other gambling activities, seem to go weeks not bothered about gambling then get a few days ill throw away a large percentage of my monies on really stupid sport bets.

defiantly crushing 2nl and ready for 5nl in terms of my game but im still standing by my brm and not moving to 5nl until $250 bankroll, its more to learn discipline in brm at these early stages.

tomorrow i may play some sng mtts to try build up to $200 then i can move up to playing $1 buy in tourys/sngs

agreed for 2nl and 5nl it maybe too tight. I just dont want to deposit again, im sticking to this rule of 50BI's so i get used to and better at sticking to BRM guidelines so that when i get to higher levels like 25nl i dont get tempted to jump up stakes and then tilt and have to deposit again. Feel its something i have to stick at just to get some confidence back.

tried to play sngs today, man how i hate them compared to zooooom, if it wasnt for zoom poker i think i would give up on poker i just don't enjoy playing sngs/tourys just not a lot of freedom.

pretty bad session, started of up a couple of buyins then proceeded to spew after a spell of run bad, last few hands i was sticking in 100bb pre with K6 or 10-9o and i just couldn't crack my those aces lol so i decided to call it an early finish.

ah just spewing right now, not playing great, not looking to good on getting to $250 by the end of this month, 2 excuses really one is i can say i didnt really start until the middle of august but on the other hand iv been very lazy in getting in volume so its my own fault really.
