Im vittoleon, playing on pokerstars, and I am... microcashgamegrinder (lol)

3 weeks ago after months of freerolling I decided to deposit 50€ (61.80$ +-) on pokerstars. My initial goal was a million dollar (not serious ofcourse but one has to have a goal with certain class). My goal is to slowly build up from nl2 to nl100 and higher. I have all the time for this and I want to do it while improving my game.

Quick breakdown of last 3 weeks.

week one I did some up and downs and ended break even.
week 2 went much better. Day one I dropped 4$. Then I did 6 winning days ending up 10$.
and this week again i started with a huge drop first day (3 buyins which is a huge drop for me) but now Ive been rolling good for some days gathering me about 18$.

At nl2 I have about 7.6 BB/100 over a bit less than 9000 hands. Soon Im hoping to reach nl5 for a new challenge.

I also have a fulltilt account with 50$ from bonusaction where I spent my time untilting playing RUSH poker with average succes.(I tend to be gambly when untilting).

My main goal for making this thread is to keep myself focused and motivated to reach my goal of playing higher and keep hope that microstakes will soon end.

If by HM you mean holdemmanager, no i dont... Only pokersoftware I used so far is pokertracker and I didnt even manage to get that working . (stupid stats dont refresh and cant find my own stats).

Either way I am interested in software as long as its free (At least untill I get to stakes like nl50 where it might actually be affordable).

54.99 $, really gives you a good impression of the players at your table
You def need it if you want to move up.

I don't know how many tables you play but you don't really need a HUD if you play 4 or less tables. It obviously helps because you can analyze your play afterwards aswell but a 25BI investment is a lot. I would first ask yourself if you really need it and maybe first win some $ at NL5

I play 4 tables usually. I might buy it because I got the cash on full tilt from a bonus action and soon I can cash it out. So if I use it to buy the software I wont have used a cent of my own money on it.

Yep, you can start with the small stakes version ($54.99) like me. Take the time to learn it.

Been watching some videos. You can't grind your way (read some of the other threads), on Stars with cash games above 5nl. You need to plan to move your play to Full Tilt, Merge, or Cereus. There is a guy who can't get above 25nl - because all the fish are at the 20-50bb games, and the short stackers, making it a higher variance game with a smaller stack size (more losses).

Plan on moving the roll to where the field is softer (and after you get the grindage down, you get a ton of more hands with rush - and the fish are out at night US time).

My plan was to play pokerstars as long as possible and to cash some of my deposit bonuses. (harder field -> learn to play better -> move to fish site -> buy tons of fishing nets ).

But so far I really like the software, the easy tables (just leave hard tables untill you hit soft one.) and the amount of games. I just hate the rake system which is pure junk .

9k hands is very little and getting to NL100 is much harder than you think (guessing). Maybe play atleast 30k hands on NL2, so there shouldnt be big suprises later on.
But GL!

if you are only playing 4 tables you don't really need HM, you def need it from 10NL and up

The main reason why I play only 4 tables is because more than 4 is inefficient without a good HUD. You wont have any read on your opponents and you basicly have to make a gues for it...

Anyway day one week 4. Only inet for 90 min (last day of holyday) early morning grind time.

Bad day, really good first session (1.86$ on 110 hands). Lost all of it in second session due to bad cards and play. 3th session went really good untill I got stacked when my broadway got beaten by a full house on the river for a 5$ pot. In the end, losing day, as usual sundays. Enough for today. No harm done to bankroll only to ego.

endresult week 4 day 1: -0.54 cent.

Bankroll at start: 61.80.
Bankroll after 4 weeks: 183.50.

Are you playing fr or 6max. I am doing the same challenge at 6max games on pstars, if you want to sweat/be sweated let me know. I'm trying any manner of studying/working on my game to improve and rise the limits. Hope my 2nl goes as smooth for me to be in 5nl in 4 weeks.
GL with yours.

I play mostly full ring. I noticed 6max has slightly more sharks and people who think they are sharks in relation to fish. Thinking of playing some more 6max to get closer to headsup (which I hope to play at nl100+ one day. )

Dont really need someone to sweat but I would be happy to add you on msn or skype to just randomly discuss some poker during sessions ^^

week 5 update. After a good first day (2buyin up) and some decent tournaments I went on a terrible week where I didnt enjoy it. Today that ended with a 36$ heather (NL5).

Roll: 220$

Looks like your handling moving through the stakes pretty well. Congrats!
Some advice I may give, at Full Tilt you get rakeback which is much better than Stars VIP program if you play anything under nl50. I have been working on a similar goal as you and the rakeback is just a little added bonus at the end of your week. Played 9000 hands last week @ NL5 and made just under 6 dollars in rakeback. Hey a bi is a bi lol.

Ye Ive been thinking about switching to rake site. But decided to stick on ftp untill I get deposit bonuses cleared. I love PS software more than FTP software tho.

Yea Stars software is so much nicer and they have the monster VIP program. When I switched over it took a couple days just to get the options and settings the way I liked it and it still doesn't touch my setup in Stars. lol Cant wait to hit nl50 and jump back over!

Update, second day in week 6. Yesterday did a 14$ (2.8BI tilt/cooler downswing). Today on a 4 BI heather.

Dedided to add a new challenge. Silverstar. SHouldnt be too hard getting 25VIP /day since I done over 100 vip in 2 days already 9 tabling nl5 and soon nl10. Deposit bonus and 750VIP bonus inc soon.
