Starting this thread to document my microstakes grind. Starting at 5NL on ignition. Mostly making this thread as a way to hold myself accountable for hitting my goals for daily volume. Starting bankroll is $50.

Goals for the rest of 2023:
  • Play 1000 hands per day
  • Achieve a winrate of 5BB/100
  • Move up to 10NL

Gring Log #1
Profit: $16.08
Hands: 1013

Cumulative Winrate: 31.74BB/100
Current Bankroll: $66.08

Notes:
Ran very hot for the first session. Played mediocre with one major punt (5-bet jammed JJ into AA, justified because villain was on the looser side but in hindsight this was more a frustration jam)

Hands: 487

Cumulative Profit: -$3.28
Cumulative Hands: 1500
Cumulative Winrate: -4.37BB/100
Current Bankroll: $46.72

Notes:
Played terrible. Got stuck early and started chasing money. Cut the session short because I was punting, clearly need to work on my mental game(Far too invested in booking a winning session). Planning to play a long session tomorrow to get back on 1000/day pace.

Study plans:
Goal for this week is drilling 3betting ranges, I have a solid grasp of good opening ranges but I find myself guessing on what hands are good 3bet candidates in many spots. I think in general I'm over 3betting (13.1%, but I don't think 1500 hands is enough for that to be a meaningful stat).

Notable Hand:

Seat 1: UTG+1 [ME] ($12.66 in chips)
Seat 4: Small Blind ($7.62 in chips)

*** HOLE CARDS ***
UTG+1 [ME] : Card dealt to a spot [Qc Ac]
UTG : Calls $0.05
UTG+1 [ME] : Raises $0.20 to $0.20
UTG+2 : Folds
Dealer : Folds
Small Blind : Raises $0.68 to $0.70
Big Blind : Folds
UTG : Folds
UTG+1 [ME] : Calls $0.50
*** FLOP *** [Ah Kh Ad]
Small Blind : Checks
UTG+1 [ME] : Checks
*** TURN *** [Ah Kh Ad] [2h]
Small Blind : Bets $1.07
UTG+1 [ME] : Raises $2.14 to $2.14
Small Blind : Calls $1.07
*** RIVER *** [Ah Kh Ad 2h] [4h]
Small Blind : All-in $4.78
UTG+1 [ME] : Folds

My thoughts live-
flop- I saw this as a mandatory check seeing as he has a huge nut advantage, I assume he would be check-raising range since he has all the KK and AK. He wasn't sat very long but he was 3betting pretty frequently so I had him on a range that flops a lot of gutshots to broadway JTs,QJs, even QJo and a lot of Kx.
turn- I think he is betting range here after it goes check check on a board so favorable to his range. I figure this range contains a lot of bluffs and that he is betting Kx for value and folding to a raise. Raised because I didn't want to give these hands the chance to improve on the river
river-I don't think anyone in the pool is bluffing this spot, especially seeing as I should have a lot of strong flushes that raise the turn. I figure he must have QhX, JhX, KK or AA

Looking back I'm thinking I should just bet flop and rip it in if he check-raises. Not sure why I was scared of the check-raise when I had trip aces. Also thinking I should just call turn here because I don't think he is ever calling with worse here and the draws I'm trying to fold off have very little equity.

I'm gonna check the solver in the morning would love to hear yalls thoughts on this hand

Bet flop, rip it in if he x/r. If he’s flopped a full house, congratulations to him, but we have outs.

Even the best players lose 30-40% of their sessions. Get this drilled into your mind. You will lose a lot of sessions. But where you can improve and ultimately win long term is by minimising the session losses.
