Goal: To stop being spewy and stop carrying lots of money on me when I go play. Use my live winnings that I won't tilt away anymore... to move up in stakes in the online world. There is mainly 1/2,1/3 nlhe in the city where I'm from. I want to move up in stakes to make more money. So far I am doing well enough to where poker pays for my expenses.

My one leak is after I have fantastic streak of winning, I lose alot of my profits back due to ego. I would have a roll big enough for 5/10 by now all from live profits (all generated in the last 5 months purely from poker) if I didn't keep making the same mistake.

This Blog style post is something to keep me accountable for my actions and to keep track of my progress playing poker.

I will try to keep it interesting by breaking down one hand per post and one pearl wisdom from my own mind.

Day one up 250$ in 1/2 after 7 hours. Started off dropping 3 buyins in 2 hours in a very hard game. All from bluffing all got called by just pairs. Then rebought twice more and turned 1 buyin (100$) into 775 before leaving.

I've lost 2 grand in 4 days with a combination of running bad and playing bad. Today was my first winning session since Sunday. I want to be develop a reputation for winning so I don't allow myself to go on massive down swings relative to the stacks I'm at.

Pearl of Wisdom actually comes from a friend at the table who watched me rebuy repeatedly. "Don't bring a lot of cash with you to the casino."

Hand of the day this was on my 4th buy in with about 120$ I'm under the gun with 8d4d and open up right away with a 10xBB raise. 4 players in this hand. 9 players at the table. Person next to act calls twenty then fold then call then fold fold call on the button, blinds fold. Flop is 8c7c5c I have top and jam first to act hoping to take down the pot. Guy beside me calls next guy goes all in for 400$ button folds guy beside me calls the remaining 80 he has left. Main pot 300 side pot 160 2 players all in no more action on flop. Turn 10S River Qd. MP shows Kc4c UTG +1 shows Jc10c. So I was drawing to a running full house with 2.66% equity on the shove. I tried to rep the flush and failed... However if no one had anything they would fold to my bet (even on a draw) and I would take down a pot. Furthermore this set me up later to ship it from first to act and get multiple callers when I had a much better hand. I was able to exploit a loose image after that play and ran my bankroll up very quick.

Day 2:
It's late in the evening now just finished a 4 hour break even session. Playing pretty solid table zero tourists... was just very slow and I would have left but I felt like talking with the people.

I felt I was being arrogant to assume my success in live 1/2 could translate into success in online 5/10 that I was mentioning yesterday. Moving up in stakes and online will take alot of getting used to and I will probably lose alot of buyins just acclimatizing to the new players and habits. I was thinking today 1/2 might be more lucrative because the skill discrepancies are much bigger than in higher stakes games. However I also have more success against better players because they know how to fold. I know how they think as opposed to the weekend crowd I encounter. So I think with alot of hard work and dedication it can be achieved.
Overall played 7 hours and up 470$ on the day.

This blog helped me to be much more disciplined and most importantly have zero tilt even through an above average amount of run bad in the evening.

Tip of day: Table selection is just as important skill to have as any other one.

No hand of day today tomorrow I will bring a notepad to write them down because I have trouble remember the suits and don't want to give incomplete info.

We're on the upswing again gonna keep the momentum going!

Day 3: Broke my own goal and spewed about 3.5 buyins in 45 min when my Ak missed once against 99 all in pre, ak vs 66 k63 flop, then 10 10 vs k6d 895 flop one diamond I called an all in try to hit a backdoor flush, inside straight draw or king.
That was the only hand I spewed. Almost initiated a stop loss after I raised to 15 pre with ak and nothing hit. Added on 60 and changed seats into the guy who had pocket 10's. Then hit my hand of the day kq vs jj on a aj10 board. doubled up and eventually turned my 145 into 1200. Made 740 today in 6 hours. Glad I decided not to leave early.

New goals to work on are betting more value on rivers, there were many spots where I could have bet more I feel. Also I checked strong hands oop many times to try to trap and it never worked. I also go bluffed off a few winning hands with light bets on the river so next time I have second pair I will call a small bet even if I may be beat because pot odds.

Ending the week down about 500$ Gonna be a hard grind to get out the hole and back to being a winning player but I'm more motivated than ever. The accountability of this public post places more responsibility on however arbitrary it may be.

Poker tip of the day: Always be a good poker citizen, don't berate players for beating you or making bad plays, congratulate them. Tip dealers well Karma is real and it will help you in ways you won't immediately realize.

Taking tomorrow off to rejuvenate; only some light studying. Hitting the gym, doing some yoga and being kind to myself, have a good weekend everybody!

Day 3 down 520 in 3 hours.
Don't feel like I did anything too wrong and don't want to change my style too much yet...
Going to keep tracking my profits for 1 month at least and see where I end up.
Poker tip of the day: Raise more with queens than kings.

Hand of the day
Hero 64off 200
Villain 86hearts 600
everyone calls 2 I raise to 20 on the button and get 5 caller flop is 275
check to mid position who bets 25 and is looking intoxicated
I re raise 75 and everyone else folds then back to villain who thinks about it for a while then calls
turn is brick he goes all in I calling hoping to hit the river and miss.
He shows 8 high scoops and celebrates vociferously.
I've never seen this guy before so I had no read on his play and wanted to test him.
He made the right call in this case. If I ever see him again I will have a different range to play against him.

6 hours down 150. Goal accomplished so far of not being spewy except on sunday. It takes 2 week-2 moths to develop a habit; got a bit of way to go yet. I was doiwn to nregative 350 then adjust my game back to my A++ game that I haven't played in a while. I came up in the last few months playing the nittiest grindiest hardest games in the city and that's where I'm gonna keep playing. Where a 1-2 BI profit day is a great day. I have a new mental trick of adding 3 0's to every bet size in my mind. That forces me to play alot more conservatively and it works

Day 5: 370 down in 1.5 hours and left to initiate a stop loss.
Started out getting queens cracked by k9 suited nothing unusual about that but ideally you should win in that spot. I lose 30% of my stack.
Ad3d vs 10s7s 3 way all in with AQoff in the mix.
338 flop and I couldn't be happier, 10 turn 10 river. I'd classify that as very unlikely and high variance.
The guy who called with 10 7 is definetly a losing player. Does not play very often.
I go on tilt a bit.

Most people should take a break after losing a big hand to re calibrate.

Donk off another 1.5 buyins with aq vs ak on an kj9aj board
I had the nut straight draw and hard to put your opponent on ak when you have an a in your hand. So wasn't the worst play, just unlucky that I hit an a on the turn.
Then I raise 6bb on the BB with QdJd
utg calls with 63o same losing player that I mentioned earlier and 5 other callers
flop is J42 I'm first to act and bet 40% pot
only buddy with 63 calls
Turn 5 giving him the nut straight which does not happen very often I c-bet 25 again.
River is a queen of spades giving me top two and I go all in
Hitting one of my 5 outs does not happen very often either.
This combination of run bad contributed to a very poor session but with my agressive style I'm used to swings like this.
I left because I didn't feel like subjecting myself to any more losses for the day.
My bankroll is still doing very healthy and equipped to deal with this.
I might go back later because there's a Flames game which attracts alot of fish and sharks alike.
Will be good action tonight. I don't usually play night games but I feel compelled to try again late tonight after a really short session.

6 more hours up 110
was up to 450 but couldn't hold on. Started running really bad had people calling when I wanted them to and getting rivered.
Then slipped below my best game from a combo of playing too much and getting rivered a few times.
Need to study a bit more and take tomorrow off to relax.
Feel like I'm adding a bit more depth in my game.
Forcing myself to be uncomfortable and making new style plays which have worked.
Gotta work out the bugs in my new style but I feel once I do my strategy will be more versatile for all situations we encounter in poker.

played alot today and was up 200 in hold em. 2/5 tables were open so I sat. Everyone at the tabled wanted to switch to PLO so I thought I would give it a whir. Fold 9967 546109 board vs aa27 and some other hand and get tilted for missing a triple up. Next hand aaj2 suited vs aj49 suited guy flops a flush draw, we get it all in... rivers a flush now down 300 on the day.

Poker tip always make sleep a priority no amount of short term money is worth more than your long term health.

Day 7 down 300 in 3 hours. Feel like I'm losing sight of what I'm doing. Last 3 sessions staredt up then then end up down.

Running into alot of over pairs with TPTK in close spots where I would usually fold.

Playing with a bit too much ego, so going to take a day or too off to build back some hunger to play.

Day 8 down 320 in 1.5 hrs.
Took yesterday off and did everything right exercised went to bed early did yoga before playing today watching poker videos.

Got reraised every single time I bet out my strong hands and they always had a slightly better hand which I didn't fold to.

Need to take at least 3 days off now because this is embarrassing how bad I'm playing.

AQ vs 69
234k5 runout
Im rasing pre better the whole getting called, then call the river re raise.

Q10 vs 75
Buddy raises from small blind with Q10 suited 5 callers
leads out with a flush draw
469 board two clubs
turn 3 of clubs giving me a nut straight and him a queen high flush
river J
goes all in I call

MP raises with 88 I have KJ suited in the small blind I call
flop j83 turn river 10 j
I lead out flop get reraised and the I re raise again to all in
lose with trips to a full house.

Normally I can get away from all of these hands but today I was playing to0 desperately.

A really bad showing can't be just punting away money like this gotta be even more focused and disciplined and need a few days off to relax.

New goal: Win 200 a day for the next 10 sessions.

What up guys Rig Dimension here and I wanna take some time to explain how I chose my user name.

It was just before Black Friday and I was playing online poker very recreationally.
I was losing and enjoying participating in rigged debates.

One player who went by the handle Magic612 was posting quality content satirizing people who complained about the game being rigged.

I found one such video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWGRVd_7-xw
Very edgy and creative.

Anyways I haven't played for the last two days as I went skiing.

The storm of a decade, accumulations of over 50 cm in 24 hours.

Hundreds of traffic accidents over a week span. Where winter storms made roads barely traversable. Poor visibilty and icy conditions were prevalent.
This photo was near Lac des Arcs.

People de-bussing via emergency exit. Long delays along Highway 1 westbound near Banff.

New LED signage.

Winning with pocket aces on the button!

Really challenged myself on this ski trip; finding the most diffiicult double blacks and shredding them as hard as possible.

Back to battle tonight.

Day 3 played 2 hours made 135$ and it was getting late so I called it. I'm not compromising sleep for poker the best way to get good nights sleep is to have a strict sleep schedule going to bed and waking up at the same time every day.

Was running very badly under ev having to bluff most pots to win anything then started getting called and mucking. then losing in a few spots where I had 80% on turn and 96% on flop equities. so I was down 100 and new villain sits down and double straddles. I jam with A5off for 37bb's, double stradle calls and I hold on a 95943 runout.

Next hand I have q9 clubs I limp same guy raises to 25 I call on a kq10 flop bet 25 he calls, turn is 8 of spades making 3 spades on board. 3 people in hand we all check river is 9 of diamonds, he opens to 90% pot. I tank and probably would have called with two pair but luckily I think back to a video with Phil Hellmuth where he calls with two pair on a wet board with straights and flushes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1oA-CWJHl8 . Now I rivered my two pair and didn't flop it but it's fairly similar.
Anyways luckily for me I was able to ask my self what can I beat here on the answer was only a bluff. So I made a tough fold, only tought because I was starting to lose my mind over how bad I was running and desperately wanted to call. But I created a new internal dialouge in my mind for future river situations. Always ask yourself what can I beat here and if you are facing a massive river bet without any reads/information on your opponent it's generally a good idea to fold.

You avoid getting into the habit of hero calling and you can always wait for a better spot to look him up.

Now on to the final hand before I left.
I limp in UTG with k10 off everyone folds to Big Blind and we have been dueling for the last two hands.
He goes to 10BB's which is a very large Preflop raise
last hand he went 8.3
hand before he called 34BB's
So this person was clearly very agressive and I felt his range was fairly wide 2's-9's suited connectors, aj-ak, so I decided to pull the trigger and 4 bet 59BB's. I would be happy either with a fold or to get it in with approximately 45% equity.
the runout is K978q and I hold for a nice double up.
I would have loved to keep playing with some chips to work with but I called it a night and we will play more tomorrow.

turn 9c
river 3h

then opponent jammed river and I snap called
I was a bit tilted and should have folded river.

That hand with the aces that I posted the picture of my opponent had j10 on 1010Q flop and I turned an A he was shocked. I forgot to mention that earlier but I'm going to now.

I felt like I had more in me yesterday so I went back and quickly dropped and additonal 240. I was starting to see shades of tilt so I buckled down and grinded back to up 7$ on the day. One interesting hand from that session was me limping aces on the button (!) sb raises 12.5x and I snap shove 52bb and he calls with KQ suited. I very frequently limp high pocket pairs and have great success with this strategy. My rationale is if if anyone raises I always go for the 4 bet either huge if small stacks or lighter with big stacks to induce action. 2 days ago I 4 bet shoved queens into k5o for 200bb's and lost. So I don't like risking money in that manner anymore. I would rather use my skill on all streets and reads to play safer and more profitably.

Day 7 up 225 in 3 hours.
first hand of new table limp queens UTG bb has jacks RIP BB.
Another interesting hand on the day was AQo in SB facing a 12.5x open from Button, I snap shove 90BB's hoping for a fold. Unfortunately villain has AK he saw me limp with queens to his jacks earlier so he was definetly faced with a tough decision I make it easier by offering to show him one card, luckily he chooses the ace and snap folds!!!
I like to take money down pre flop because it the most ev+ thing you can do in poker.

My goal was to only play 3 hours as I feel I lose focus and started playing sub-optimally after that. I had the discipline to leave today. My other big weakness was going on tilt alot so today I was doing CBT. Constantly repeating postive affirmations to myself after each hand. I'm happy with my stack size, I'm happy with my pre flop raise, flop bet, and turn fold. I'm happy to be here.

It was like Happy Gilmore going to his happy place and it is something I must do when facing mountains of adversity in a session, I.E. above average amount of terrible runouts against all your really strong holdings.

Thanks I want this mainly to be interesting and worth reading.

After the Challenge is over I will use the proceeds for my new bankroll so it will be much easier to keep track of.

Down 40 on the day now went back because I was feeling good. started off up 80 but not value betting any rivers OOP trying to trap when hitting well disguised straights a4,kq and getting a check from people betting every other street, wtf?

I re raised AKo in position 4 bet all in vs KK and lost and it was a sign of things to come.

QJ vs 109 on a QJ6 flop turn K
Rip me I bet the flop wayyy to lightly then jammed into the second nuts.

Then I jam AK on the button vs Q3suited small blind A10suited UTGcall KKJJJ runout

My stack is healthy again EP raises 7x I call with 7's on button
Flop J86 he bets 25
Turn 8 bets 45
River 10 Bets 105
I tank for a while but at this point it's 3.5 hours in and I'm not making the best decisions. I watch his breathing like I always do in tough spots. My physical body language read was to fold. I'll give you guys a tip anytime a person is breathing heavy they have a very good hand. If their chest is hardly moving at all chances are they're bluffing. He had the tell tale signs but I talked myself into calling anyways and he shows AA.

Positives:
I know what I did wrong
Went to yoga afterwards

Trying to set a good example for poker players when it comes to exercising and physical health. We all know poker players that neglect their bodies. You might even be one of them but you shouldn't fall into that trap. Being in good shape helps your play and your quality of life.

Now I feel very relaxed and invigorated from the yoga. I will go to another hot yoga class in the morning before playing because it helps you stay alot more relaxed when playing.

Also I might bring a piece of post it paperr that I wrote tips on such as fold river, just to remind of the things I need to work on most!

Down 220 today, was down 420

Started out with me K10 on BUTTON vs KJ Big Blind I raise 7.5x get called
FLOP Q106
guy opens 15bb
I re raise 65bb total he calls and turns it.

EP (one of the best players around) opens to 10x
one caller mid position
I look down at AKo big bling call FLOP is K106 two hearts I check EP cbet same amount MP call 20
I jam get called then MP folds turns out he had KK
Is this a standard cooler here? I had back door nut flush draw.

A hand where I won: Button opens to 5x
I have 76 spades and opt to take a flop
Q72 rainbow with backdoor flush draw
check raise from 7 to 14bb's and get called. My thoughts being maybe he will fold and he did tank for 40 seconds.
turn is 4 of spades giving me 2 pair, trips and flush draw for an estimated 15
so I open 18bb's with more confidence and get called slowly which is worrisome cause I'm going have to hit now if I want to barrely otherwise with the amount of chips in the middle its going to be difficult to bluff my opponent off any holding.
luckily river is K of spades completely a back door flush draw
and I bet ~35bb's or a little under pot
and buddy tanks for a minute and calls.

Overall I know I can hang with any poker player and the city and get the respect I deserve when playing my A game.

Day 1: Up 410
hand of the day
KK UTG raise to 5x
AK re raise 2.5x
Button Call
I re raise 3x
UTG+2 Call
Button Re raise ALL in just enough to open the door
I shove all in for 225 bb's
UTG +2 folds shows ak
I think if I smooth call then bet the flop really light and turn really lightly I could have extracted more value.
Or smooth call then check to induce a bluff.
but overally still very happy with the win.
