I love poker however i need to get real and put my priorities first. I have a huge responsibility with my business (6 staff plus my wife and I) to support and grow therefore a time consuming hobby such as poker needs to be put on the back burner.

I have been fortunate enough to run hot this year and have made around $20k AUD which is great. Pays for some costs i have incurred for the business purchase and transition.

I might play a little in the future and I plan to head to vegas/USA once per year to play but the days of grinding $40-60k hands a month are over.

Time to spend more time on golf and sim racing...

I know alot of micro guys read this thread so the best advise i can give is:

* Work ALOT ON MENTAL GAME. Because this is where alot of the money is made in poker imo
* Study like a mofo. 1hr per day and you will crush very fast
* Get pio
* Control emotions and get rid of your ego
* Only play when mentally alert
* Get used to variance

I am literally crying my eyes out, loads of tears running down my face. It has been a real pleasure to read your thread over the months, max. You are a huge inspiration in poker and in real life. Sorry, I'm finding it hard to contain myself here. I could write many more words, but I will keep it brief. It's extremely sad to see you go. Good luck at whatever you pursue in the future. You will always have a place in my heart and memory.

Bringing this back to life for the wsop (obv only going to post if I run well hence my post hereto)

Arrived late arvo, didn’t sleep the who way from Australia, tired as **** I arrived to my hotel. I got a bargain, planet Hollywood for 658usd 9 nights!!

As soon as I arrived I ordered room service, a delightful salmon fillet and veggies. It’s nice to have some real food other than plane food. Scoffed that down, had a shower and went straight over the road to Bellagio and got on a 5/10 table within moments. Surprisingly no list!

Played some good hands and finished up $1985. Off to a good start, stay tuned.

In for the Vegas heat. Gl

Only got 6.5 hours sleep last night so still pretty rekt, but what made it worse was dropping a bloody iPad on your toe! This is not a new iPad but one of the old heavy bastards with a cover so my toe is bruised as a mofo.

Walked down to Denny’s for a cheap breakfast in the morning. Food is average but prices are good.

Freshened up and caught an Uber to the rio where I played 5/10 for 5-6 hours and won a few hundred. While I was waiting for 5/10 to start up I jumped in a 2/5 and blasted of $380 triple barrelling in good spots. Didn’t really work out.

No notable hands at all today. A really boring session

Having an early night tonight, grab some food and get a good night sleep. Gym tomorrow morning then grinding.

While waiting for 10/20 to open up I played 16 minutes of 5/10 and won $914 then hopped into a 10/20 game and won $4239 over the course of 5hrs approx.

So $5153 day in the books.

Played a solid 6+hrs today all at 10/20. Booked a nice $2.6k win and won the biggest pot of my life.

I’m in co with 7d8c and open to 60, I only opened this because btn was a nit and both sb and bb were weak regs. Total bottom of range but we effectively have the btn. Anyway sb and bb both call. Pot 180, flop A45ssx x to me I bet 60, sb xr to 200 bb folds and I peel. We are $3250 effective. Turn is the glorious 6d sb bets 460 I call, river 10h and sb bets 46 again and after about a minute I shove and he snaps. I tables and he didn’t show however I think I heard him say set. A nice $6.5k pot.

Another ****ty spot today utg weak reg opens 60, 4 calls and I’m bb with 99 and squeeze to 480, weak Reg calls pretty quickly other fold. We are around 2.6k effective. Flop 752ddx I bet 520. Not sire on size here cos it’s a weird spot with a bloated pot. I didn’t think we should bet small I think it should be larger size maybe even like 70% with a range of 88-qq and AA and KK could bet small or even check. Pretty rusty after not playing for several months leading up to trip. Anyway fish reg raises to 1200 with like 800 or so behind and I tank folded. I felt based on several aspects that we don’t have fold equity if we jam and our equity vs his range is very poor.

Last night also smashed the Bellagio buffet with gazzyb123. I felt like death after lol



Surprisingly this trip my jet lag is really bad so I woke up at like 3am and chilled in bed for a few hours before heading to Starbucks for breakfast.

Another poker day in the books. I am literally running like god. I must also state (and everybody always says this right?) that I’m playing quite well and making good decisions. I even folded bottom set on the flop today when the action was crazy!
