Why min-raise from CO with a hand like JJ if you are going to maybe get 4 callers? JJ plays horrendously MW.

i suppose i was just putting in some strong hands into my xc range but yeah perhaps betting is best. flop is good for us but villains mp range is also quite strong here too.

AT hand is bad. i should just check and give up. we are also very deep and we don't have blockers.

shupick - are you suggesting varying your open size based on what hands you hold? i use same open sizings irrespective of hands. i will open larger if fish in blinds

I dont think shupick is a reliable source to improve your game, no offense shupick

and yeah AThh hand is not great, flop bet is whatever, better as a check though, turn barrel is just losing money I believe

More that I would raise larger from the CO, because our overall hands strength is stronger and doesn't like MW pots as much as our BU raising range. (Less suited trash that you open from the BTN.)

I just think unless you are opening much, much wider than average you are putting yourself in a tough spot when you don't need to be. Now if you are opening like a BTN range from CO, then disregard what I said.

I rarely see regs 2x from CO. What are you open sizings from each position?

Anyway gl at 100z man rooting for you!

My co rfi is prob norm compared to most regs. Many regs 2.2-2.5x. I really dont think it matters much in terms of EV.

3x, co & btn 2 x and sb 3 x

TYTY

So today went well in terms of results but i was above ev, which was nice but tbh i prefer to run at ev. I just won flips like , jj vs ak, qq vs ak and 1 suckout...So yeah, Im still at 100z and not going back to 50z unless i lose.

Hands

suckout babay lol Im really not sure how to play this. Flop raise was super polarized, and rarely a bluff i suppose unless a FD, but being oop should we raise or should we just call down? I though villain on btn def could have worse 10x like j10, q10 etc and will not fold. Anyways worked out for me

Re: KQ hand I had a quick look in our lord and savior PIO and there seems to be quite some flex in both our flop strategy and OOPs flatting range pre where the bottom of our value on the river remains at JTss.

Given how far down KQ is in our range we can't bet it even if we choose a tiny sizing (against a reg that is). But that doesn't necessarily mean we would never use a small size. There are of course spazzes out there who will fold correctly to >1/2 pot but feel obliged to spew occasionally if we bet 1/4 pot. But KQ is obviously never part of that equation.

Yeah its thin. Plan was obv just bet fold. Ill review some hands in next day or so but yer im on the fence with this one. Interesting about pio - i really want to get it.

Yeah im really not sure. Its easy to be results orientated. Lets look at positions. The only value hands are AJcc, AQcc, KQcc, KJcc, 1010, JJ - so about 13 combos right? And villain also has 12 combos of just AQ.

But yeah it may be atrocious

Anyway i didnt have time to post graphs etc today but played a quick 1hr session this morning before heading to the chiro and won 250bb and under EV again...

I also just booked a 9 night stay in vegas for christmas and NYE with my mrs. SHould be freaking sweet during that time. May plan a little pokerz too.

cheers mate!

Today went well! But, I actually played subpar - 1 terrible call down.

Exciting news! I bought PIO yesterday and have already reviewed many hands. I love it.

why check back turn with AQ? are there hands you are checking back twice that needs protection?

from memory i thought in game how many streets i can get if i bet the A and can i get value from worse when we bet river. so i wanted to somewhat disguise the strength of my hand. i also didn't want to get check raised. i though the flop favours his range as he definitely has jj and 99(i think these were cards from memory) so if he raises what do i do? anyway i was just going to bet big on river looks more like a bluff and get paid by a bluff catcher

this theory prob stinks

yeah you can't play scared like that, JJ and 99 are a very small part of his whole range on turn, there is plenty of value to bet there and then you can decide on river if you fire another barrel depending on the card obviously

I used to struggle a lot too at zoom because I was always afraid to value bet these spots thinking what if I get check raised but yeah.... it doesn't happen very often at all

so yeah don't be afraid to bet, just bet and then if you get check raised well react accordingly

yeah it's funny cos i'm aggro in some spots and passive like this in others...

but yeah i definitely should bet turn maybe with range as it's a card that certainly favours me as villain most likely doesn't have any combos of AK

Man i feel good today. I have starting doing my weight lifting program again. Around 3-4 years ago I was really into Starting Strength (http://startingstrength.com/) and got quite strong. I was squatting like just under 300lbs from memory etc. I have had headache issues and one of the things my chiro recommended was to get stronger and build some muscle.

So, im 2 workouts in, weak as piss lol, but feeling good. Im eating better, more good calories, and doing cardio too. This morning i woke up, made eggs, then went for 1hr brisk walk. I love the morning crisp air.

Anyway, i wasnt going to play today but i was feeling mentally solid and calm so i fired up the tables. Just for an hour or so.
