Do you have a specific reason you can share why you usually do about halfpot-halfpot-potjam and not more even sizing thru streets?

Monthly Results

Soooo we can safely say that this month was not my finest, however due to a good couple days it's by no means my worst month either! Also I broke even in EV so gotta take something positive away from that too.

Goals review

Quote:
[ ] 75k hands -Fail, but with the spontaneous trip to Budapest, i'm happy with this
[ ] Profit - Nearly with ev(?)
[x] Only check results once a week yay
[x] Finish reading the Mental Game of Poker Actually wanna go back and read some sections again in the new month
[ ] Meditate at least 21/30 days about half the days
[x] 500 hands of 1knl yeah, great, glad i did this...
[ ] 12 gym sessions... fml
[x] Go to Budapest v happy i did this!
All in all pretty average on the goals, not too disappointed apart from meditation and gym (again)

Decent VPP's again this month

Other stuff

Goals for new month

[ ] Keep playing my best game + improving the back end of my game
[ ] 50-60k hands
[ ] Win at 1k?!
[ ] Meditate regularly
[ ] Gym

I'm going away for the last 8 days of the month so that's why volume goals are low.

How about your equity in the stake, does that push you up close to even?

Do you mean in 3b pots? I vary my sizing in 3b pots but i would say as a standard half half pot is just pretty normal sizing for a lot of regs. Setting up stacks this way is just something i do!

Thanks for the vote of confidence man. As Tim says it's not too good either but I like to take away the positives rather than focus on the negatives

I could do what tim does though and just not update my blog when i'm losing and only update when i'm winning to trick people into thinking i ALWAYS win...

So center parcs was sooo fun. Felt like a kid again going on rapids, playing archery and generally messing around with the family. Didn't really take any photos but charlotte got a couple of me tilting playing crazy golf plus a nice pic of the lake. It was really nice to be out of London so soon after Budapest to just enjoy some outdoor time

Golf anger. I got sooooooo crushed and actually ended up losing my ball being unable to finish

Wish i had a pic or video from the archery as it's something i definitely wanna take up as a hobby!

I was welcomed back to the tables in expected fashion of getting brutalised by everything and everyone. I'm happy with the way i played bar 1 5b shove. Some hands:

Back and ready to grind hard until i go away again on the 20 something of August.

Also wanted to update about my Card Runners contract. I'm going to be making my 10th and final video for this contract and am currently umming and ahhing whether or not i want to make more. With the games getting noticeably harder, seeing good regs not winning anywhere near as much as they were, and all the talk of bots and GTO programmes yadda yadda, I feel like i gotta be super careful how i proceed, both with regards to the videos and also this thread. Dw though, i won't be closing down the thread in the near future!

To be honest I tend to not update things when the chips are down too, nothing worse than posting a horrible looking graph for all to see the struggle.

I didnt even realise TimStone had a blog until about a week ago. I seem to remember reading it at like 5am. Think the cliff notes were dude makes a lot of cash, he doesnt make flushes or straights and something about buying a Corvette.

Might be best to bet bet check some flushes some % of the time. This is assuming he'll bluff checked rivers ofc with the pear/blocker stuff.

I'd be checking a lot of my 2p and sets sometimes - it's kinda close tbh. Definitely can see where you're coming from with regards to the check, however in this day and age people are turning hands into bluffs left right and centre so it could definitely be a mistake checking any flushes. No reads apart from aggro guy who wins!

          ---

Today was definitely a decent winning day, hopefully a couple k. Again kept up my A game and in my 2nd session i felt tilt arising as i was on 2 tables after 1 hour. I just felt extremely agitated and wanted to make something happen. I was able to notice these feelings and quit immediately which is something i'm really happy with. Also managed to get a long meditation in and a good gym session.

Fish just seemed to give me money today, was kinda weird.

This hand puzzles me, reason being I wonder how often he plays his flush draws this way as check/calling 2 streets oop purely on a draw doesn't seem very +ev since you're going to check back the river so often when the flush hits.

Ie. He seems to have repped a flush in a position where he has few, if any, in his range.

The thing is, there aren't many FDs that are bare FDs. Mostly they're either NFD, pair+FD or FD+SD, all of which are happy calling turn.

Btw I think pokerarb read the hand wrong - Villain is OOP.

Hi Ian. Ron pretty much summed things up below, i do agree that he would check fold some worse FD's ott but given our hand it's relatively hard for him to have many bare FD's bar the NFD.

I mean the actual game quality is pretty good in my opinion. The only thing that puzzles me is that there simply are not as many big winners as there used to be. I don't know if that's just variance but i have to put a decent amount of it down to bots and people generally playing a LOT better than they used to. It's just not as frequent these days that i look at my hud and see a glaring leak on someone.

Saying the above^ we have finally caught some more heat. It just feels sooo good to think that i patiently waited it out, not doing anything stupid and now things have turned (i'm not counting my chickens yet as i know how things can turn back around in no time at all!). Some of my favourite whales have been online and they've been playing as bad as always, the only difference being that i'm making hands!

Well, that's kind of what i was getting at in a roundabout way. Unless he's check/calling naked draws, he gets to the river with a flush with 1 combo of nut flush (assuming he doesn't 3bet some portion of these), 2 combos of pair+draw... and a few straight combo draws (which I'd forgotten about initially - thanks Ron )... but its not many, so i wondered whether he wasn't over bluffing in that spot
