Yeah thanks man, i know it'll turn around. Not worried about it yet!

So i didn't grind all of saturday or sunday. The graduation was sick and one of the guest speakers was Alan Rickman or Snape from Harry Potter if you know him. Pic of my gf fullfilling a lifelong dream of meeting someone from HP. (She's kinda addicted to the harry potter books)

Sunday i spent the day in Oxford at my nieces first birthday which was a lot of fun. Traffic was soooo bad coming home that it was too late to grind though.

---

Grinded just now and it went as bad as it could have gone really. I was stuck about 2.5k within 50 hands of my session :s

Got it in itb at 400 twice with underpairs and then had this hand at 1k vs a high stakes reg. Fish in BB hence the preflop call + lead:

        haha, she absolutely loved it!

        ---

        Weekly update 2

So it's been a really bad 2nd week of the month. Felt i've been playing B+ game overall and just running absolutely horrendous in a lot of spots.

        Graph after 2 weeks:

And this equates to a 26bi downswing so far which isn't bad at all. Just feels like a lot because of the monetary amount. Also, since the last weekly post, i haven't had 1 winning session!

        Couple hands from today.

        Miscellaneous stuff:

        - Meditated once
        - Gym once
        - Sleeping great
        - 1 shake a day
        - Averaged 3 meals + 1 shake most days
        - Read half the days
        - Very good mindset overall
        - Felt i've kept my head together even when losing a lot

I didn't grind much at all the past few days and was gunna put a big one in today but unfortunately i got a call saying my gf was in hospital after having her eye covered by some awful chemicals at her work. The stuff burnt a layer of skin off her eye ball and she's been in horrendous pain. Fortunately i was able to pick her up and bring her home and the doctor says she'll be ok in time, we just gotta use a variety of different eye drops every couple hours for the next 5 days. Was pretty stressful but all in all it could be a lot worse.

        ---

I have my 2nd interview tomorrow which i'm excited/extremely nervous about. It's at 2pm so am undecided if i'll grind beforehand as i think my mind will be elsewhere if i try play poker. I'll see how i feel tomorrow.

I've got 1.5 more days to grind until Latitude festival then only a couple days next week before Budapest. If i'm ever going to get back to even i need to have some BIG days between now and then, however i won't be pushing it

It was some cement powder mix i'm pretty sure. There are tons of other dangerous chemicals they use to mix stuff though and they wear masks, but not goggles unfortunately. Yeah, she's a scenic artist so paints sets for theatre. Real bad beat for her

So the interview today was really tough. Whilst it was very relaxed i felt under a great deal of pressure. I definitely slipped up a couple times but as a whole felt i held my own pretty well. Fortunately the interviewer was a really cool guy which helped me feel a ton more comfortable. I won't bore with details, but i will hear back by sometime next week - he has to interview 2 others before making his decision. It's just another waiting game again!

Thanks tom, glad to see you're still around lurking. Yeah charlotte is pretty much better now fortunately. Also thank you for the vote of confidence! How're things going in Oxford? Long time no speak.

                    ---

Yooo, so latitude was loads of fun! Saw a ton of really great bands that i love and also found some new music that i'm getting in to. Portishead if any of you know them. More than anything i enjoyed being away from my computer and phone for a few days. It's kinda unreal how easily sucked in to monotonous browsing i can get...

I was able to go to the festival because my brother in law owns a company called Mission Explore that helps kids to get out into nature. The stand was for kids to make clay creatures using natural resources. I worked a few short shifts and it was actually so much fun. Pics below:

The 'crew' campsite. Way better than the general public! Had showers and loads of space to camp.

The view next to the lake:

                    One of my creatures:

Charlottes seriously fkd up voodoo thing:

                    Chill zone in the woods:

Some crazy tribal dance that one of charlotte friends was in:

Alt J set. This gig was absolutely out of control good, easily the best i've seen of them.

Interestingly in the Portishead gig, Thom York from radiohead came on as a special guest for a couple songs. He then did a DJ set in the woods but unfortunately pretty much every single person in the festival went there and they hit capacity. Really annoyed about it still!

                    ---

Session today was alright, felt i played ok considering i'm still shattered from the weekend. Had an interesting pot too. I would love some feedback on this hand vs a good reg, Rednaxela747:

In other news i got a call back from the placement about my interview and i'm thrilled to say that they've offered me the second position! I am so so happy that i was able to hold my own with a bunch of extreme academics/professionals and come out on top. I'll start seeing clients in the new school year (around september) and over the next month or so will be inducted and have an opportunity to meet the whole team. Feels awesome to have something concrete lined up, particularly having finished my studies and feeling a little unsure of what to do next.

                      That's it for now, glgl!

I'd just call, Qs blocker yo.
Obv Xela is a really good player and this probably doesn't apply, but imo a lot of people have yet to come up with an effective book keeping procedure in these spots for their bluffs.
They obviously have few value combos and imo unless you use some for of randomisation you'll just end up having the same thought process with too many Asx combos, even if you think you're limiting yourself.

Alright, thanks for your feedback mate, much appreciated. I actually thought the same about frequencies but decided that xela won't be overbluffing. With that in mind i decided to fold. I'll never know whether it was correct or not, however next time i see him i'll be bugging him to tell me

                        Week 3 update

So the weeks over and it's less than ideal but not the worst. I've broken even. The only annoying thing is that i got to 1k down for the month then got totally EV shagged for the past few days. Kinda sick really. I'm about 10k below ev for the year now too. Oh well, I can safely say i've been playing really well for the most part.

                        Graph of month

I won't do miscellaneous today because i've been away for half the week.

The hand converter isn't working so i'll screen shot some bad beats to help me vent

i check call, check raise and he shoves turn. Nice play...

All in otf vs whale. Such a horrible redraw:

Fish 3b then bet calls all in otf, sigh:

Reg 3b, calling my 4b then x/shoving flop and winning both run outs:

Probable mistake here but i dunno. I 4b his 3b utg then bet call his flop shove:

That whining will do for now. I really feel like i'm on the wrong side of variance and am confident if i keep playing as well as i have been i'll bounce back in no time at all. One more day to grind then off to Budapest for a few days!

                        gl
