Yooo, it’s been a long damn while! I hope you’re all keeping well and running hotter than the sun. 2022 was a very interesting year for me. I slowed down my private practice in preparation for moving to Aus, and since then i’ve been playing poker full time for the first time in like 5-6 years?!
In my 2021 update I said this:
Quote:
The idea of just playing poker feels completely empty to me (not to say that others should or shouldn't feel this way)
Reading this back is actually really interesting because this is exactly what I have been doing the last six or so months. And tbh, it hasn’t felt empty at all - I’ve felt so incredibly focused on improving and pushing myself. One of the reasons for this could be that my Visa doesn’t allow any form of work, voluntary or otherwise. The second and more likely reason, is working through a pandemic in multiple lockdowns as a therapist was hard ****ing work. Not only was i managing a lot of my own feelings around being cooped up for months on end, but i was also holding a full case load of client with their own psychological needs. In hindsight, this took a rather big toll on me and i absolutely needed some respite. That said, I want to remain open to the fact that my relationship to poker may change so as to avoid burnout/resentment for the game.
I wanna do something a little bit different this year, so i’m gunna post a pic from each month of the year rather than TL;DRing you all (can you tell that i’m homesick haha)
January: trip to the Cotswold's with smbsmbsmb, his wife and my gf
February: our foster cats Larry & Leo
March: the birth of my Godson Jasper
April: taking my Nephew snowboarding in France for his 18th bday
May: playing EPT Monte Carlo with my online qualifier merch lmao
June: our 18yo foster cat Charlie
July: blakkman's wedding (dunno if he wants pics posted so i avoided) and finally catching corona (sorry lad )
August: D7's wedding up in Edinburgh
September: arriving in Melbourne
October: meeting up with pro skater and vlogging extraordinaire TonnaMunz
November: beach vibes in the Gold Coast
December: short outdoor boulder video (ungraded) in blistering heat and getting completely ****ed by mosquitos
Result
Before diving into my results I wanted to share the notification of an AMA from two years ago.
It’s so good to read this back as a reminder of just how easily i can cap my potential. In 2022 I played the vast majority of my volume at 2k+, played a good chunk of 5k, and even took a (failed) shot at 10k (losing 70kish).
My piece of advice last year was to not forget that poker is a privilege, but this year, it’s to remind you to surround yourself with people who tell you that you can go far and beyond the limitations you put upon yourself. Big shout out yet again to Clanty for being this voice for me.
Anyway, enough rambling, results! We made less $ at the tables than last year, but with rb and some missing hands we totalled up to almost exactly $300k to the dollar (3.5bb/100), for my best year to date.

Goals for 2023
Kinda going on from all the stuff I’ve already said, I want to push myself for bigger and better things next year. A loose goal is to be playing 2k-10k and who knows, even get some seats in the bigger games. I still don’t like selling action so we’ll see how that goes. I’d also like to play ~350k hands.
As for off tables, I want to improve on bouldering - currently climbing around v5-6 level but have been working with a coach/training, so it would be sick to see if i can climb even higher.
I have some travelling plans but nothing set in stone just yet.
Regardless of what happens in 2023, I am super happy with where I’m at in poker and life. I look forward to filling you all in this time next year!
Until then, keep working hard and crushing souls <3

Gg on your year and results! Your Work ethic and mindest are very inspiring. Good to See Poker ist Not dead for WHO want to Put the Work in it.
Are you still playing mostly on Pokerstars or mixing with other Sites Like acr/GG/Apps?
What were those HS (2k+) line-ups that you did so well in?
Were you able to table select a bit at those stakes or are they mostly all reg line ups and you are beating them?
also very interested where most of your volume came from? acr/stars/apps, gg perhaps?
sick update bro and love the monthly photo set up. Looks like u had a great year at the tables and even better one away from them! Hope that your 2023 is just as good, im sure it will be!
