interesting to hear you think you didn't get a great deal out of it compared to medication. I would take the opposite view on that, I had a lot of pregablin and mirtazapine daily for a while but I think pills are pretty bad. Guess different things for different people though. as you said though you can teach yourself a lot too. hope you are doing well in your high stakes games and miss your blog.

really nice results too ben sure you will be really good in the mental health sector, it has got to be easier than mid stakes zoom anyway
thanks for sharing your experience, really helpful! just goes to show how subjective everyones experience of therapy/medication can be.

haha, mental health is WAY more tiring than poker!

Was gunna put a third session in but the games look trash so i'll do some uni work instead.

I know he unblocks fds and blocks btm set but it seems ambitious vs the 500z pool.

I think you'd be happier barrelling a hand like Q5s rather than 53s. His turn bet is really bad imo.

Agreed turn bet seems really bad, both in terms of ranges and pricing you into a river call, but if he's a MTT boss then I can only assume there's some deeper understanding there that I'm not getting.

It's FUBAR. It appears to be on the 2+2 side of things according to our devs so I PM'd Chuck Weinstock about it but haven't heard back from him yet. Not sure who else I can/should PM to look at it if he is no longer part of the Admin/Dev team for 2+2.

Also all QJ kq qt. If he's super agro and barreling 3 with aa and ak seems okay but not great. Better strat is prob checking turn at a high freq

Exploitatively, I kinda like 3 barrels as a bluff here on brick runout (with this hand). So many fd, pair+fd, pair+oesd fold river. Many players raise value on flop or turn. Haven't played on stars in 6 years though so no idea how 500z plays

can kinda get behind some of this, although I would say that people raise flop ip here way less than you may imagine. I'll sim this hand at some point for sure

Monthly Results

Being at 1600 hands for the month by the 10th and to finish with 47k is a pretty strong achievement! My first proper month just grinding 500z and it was a relief to not experience extreme swings that I know are just around the corner. Felt my game improved a ton and I'm feeling more than confident that I can maintain my play style over the coming months and be a solid winner.

Graph

Stake Breakdown

June Goal Review

Quote:
[x] Maintain A game
[x] Continue to pool select 500z
[x] Grind some 5/10 live (i know, wtf am i thinking)
[x] Put some more hours into building a mental game package
[ ] Get back on the gym grind
[x] Finish up to season 4 of the Wire
[x] Try bink a main event package(?)
For some very ambitious goals, I'm pretty thrilled to have nearly smashed them all! Including the seat I won into the stars festival main, I totally close to $25k. b2b months over 20k is quality.

July Goals

[ ] Maintain A game
[ ] Finish the first year of this masters
[ ] 50k hands
[ ] Gym
[ ] Make the final
[ ] Win the final
[ ] Read a book that'll help with next years study

Let's keep the year going strong. gl guys!
