I woke up really late this afternoon! I stayed up til like 8 or 9 in the morning, partly because I wasn't tired, and partly because I have a hard time putting a movie on and then not finishing it. I watched Contagion last night. It was pretty good, nothing outstanding though. I'd give it like a 6.5 or 7 out of 10...worth watching if you feel like renting a flick. Good cast, though I'm disappointed that Kate Winslet didn't remove her top in this one, something she does ohh so frequently in movies

Anyways, I got up at 5, and I've been grinding and taking small breaks pretty much since then. I got past 1200 games around an hour ago, and then I just grabbed some food. I'm gonna get back on to grind as soon as I post this. idk how many games I'm gonna play tonight...at least another 200, but hopefully a bit more. I won't stay up too late though. I'm getting up at like 8:45 for church.

My EV line is slowly but surely headed in the right direction. I hope to keep it break-even or slightly positive all month. It's a real boost to the hourly when you're not losing money pre RB.

Leaderboard's pretty crazy this month. Here's a link to it for those who are not familiar. With the rate at which high stakes games are running, the whole dynamic has changed. For several months it was guys like me who mass tabled the lower stakes that had the best chance at winning. This month, that might change a lot. I still think if I stick with the goals ITT all month and I don't slack, I'll be in the top handful or so, but I think my chances at first, second, or even third are pretty minimal unless I hit a huge streak, something I've never done.

Catching up with PGC and saw this. You are mature for a 20 year old kid and have certainly put in the volume in the past. So I really see no reason for you not to succeed with this. GL

YgG, I'm definitely not on pace lol. I fell about 150 games short yesterday.

I ended up staying up all night saturday night, and then finally sleeping from around 12-3, and getting up and trying to grind. I played the VIP freeroll, and then started loading STs. One session loaded great; the next loaded painfully slowly. At 10pm I was less than 200 games behind, so I definitely could have caught up, but I was so exhausted that I decided it wasn't worth it to try to grind through it.

As it is, the last session I did play went pretty badly, probably because I was tired. Pretty frustrating last 120 games or so after a good start, but it's also fairly standard...






As for the payout of $10 for not reaching my goal yesterday, I don't know what I should do in fairness, since not a single person posted ITT yesterday! I'm not being a scrooge, and I don't care about dishing out $10 for my lack of perserverence, but nobody posted, so idk...

It might happen again today though. In order to get back on pace, I have to grind like 720 games today. Very doable, but I'm not feeling super great. So if you want a chance at money today, go ahead and post ITT guys! lol

I wanted to share a song with you guys that I stumbled across recently. I absolutely love listening to it, especially while playing. One thing about me is that I have a pretty diverse set of music I enjoy. Lil Wayne, System of a Down, Staind, Eminem, Matisyahu, Coldplay, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Foo Fighters are examples of bands/artists that would be in my top 20 or so. However, while grinding online, I really tend to stick to the positive, mellow side of my playlists, so that would be a LOT of Coldplay, Matisyahu, Smashing Pumpkins, and some random other stuff. Well now, I can include "Symphonies" by Dan Black in the mix FOR SURE. Give it a listen; it's a great song IMHO. There's also a version with Kid Cudi having an opening verse. I like Kid Cudi and I think that version is fine, but I still kinda prefer the original, because I think it retains the tone of the song that I'm looking for better (if that makes sense).

The Youtube link I'm sharing only has a few thousand hits, but there are ones of this song with several hundred thousand, so it's a reasonably popular song. I think it was featured on NBA 2K11.

Well I made an official decision on it in my 2nd post, after a suggestion from Rusemandingo, that I would give it out randomly to anybody who posted ITT on that particular day. So if today were magically over right this second, and I didn't have my games in, I'd ship to either you, ben-rhyno, or Josh. I think I made that failry clear on the 1st page. I even bolded it. Sorry if there is or was any confusion on that matter

Anyways, I've actually already helped out the tornado victims a bit. I'm not saying I couldn't do more, but tbh, that's probably something I'll do of my own volition. There were two towns an hour from where I live that got totally hammered. I'm really blessed that nothing happened here. Anyways, my church has already driven like 3 trailers full of supplies to them, and I think we're gonna be gathering up additional funds/supplies to help out.

I'll probably ship $10 to the MK guy. That's a good piece of software that a lot of us benefit from; seems like a solid choice. If I get a confirmation or a recipt or something, I'll do a prntscrn and put it up here or whatever (not that you guys shouldn't trust me lol).

Anyways, I think there's a decent chance that I'll hit today, and a decent chance that I won't. I still have to play like 600 games, and it's really likely that if I do fail to reach 2400 games, it will be by like 100 or so. I plan on grinding until at least 2am though, to ensure that I start the trend towards getting ahead of pace! (something I should have been doing from the beginning).

I'm being fairly liberal with the breaks I'm taking early on, because in a little bit, especially 7-midnight, I'm gonna really try to put in long grinds. I still have about 600 games to get, so this is my plan for sessions for the rest of the day

5:30-7

7:30-9

9:15-midnight

Those numbers will be flexible, and it will probably add up to 5.5 or so hours. With 115 games/hour I should be able to hit, and 115/hour for me is very manageable. I don't usually start getting worn out too much until I go above 130 or so. Like 150+ is completely killer (I'm not quite at the Jd4wg91 level )

460 games to go. Not looking good. I'm really probably gonna fall 100 games short, and at this point, I won't care too too much. It's not worth it to me to cram a ridiculous number of tables, just to avoid dishing out $10. By going 30 tables/hour over my comfort zone, I'm easily giving up more than $10/hour in equity, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I still support the intent of making this challenge. The intent is to make myself put in a lot of hours, not to drastically increase my games/hour to catch up. Before I go to bed tonight, I'd like to be at AT LEAST 2500 games, so that I have a good jump on tomorrow. Hopefully I can get that done, even if it means grinding til 2 or 3 am.

Running fairly badly is always great to go in conjunction with bad play I gotta try to get the redline back up. Just glad I'm doing this at the lower stakes rather than moving up and then getting crushed.

My main games are satties atm (SNGs, MTTs, a bit hypers) but I also dabbling in some "real" MTTs lately and maybe some 180s in the near future.

great challenge, hope to see you complete it. im grinding these games a bit and keep having trouble getting HEM to import them correctly [same with HM2] and so I have no idea what my ev line is. if i were more confident at the games then i wouldnt really care as much, because i know it doesnt paint the full picture, but seeing it around breakeven would be a huge confidence boost. have you had any issues with hem?

gl the rest of the way. From my experience putting in monster sessions i dont know if ill be able to finish, completing them is always a confidence booster and makes grinding easier in the future. Just gotta push through.

Its not as important in Merge games since games load and finish so quickly, but having your "breaks" being dropping down to like 6 tabling is a good way to keep your volume up and to make sure you dont dally too much during your breaks.

I jumped on here right at 10pm and was about to tell you guys that I was going to throw it on cruise control and grind my normal pace, basically giving up trying to reach 2400 on the day. Then I read Ruse's post, and said...eff it, let's go. I had to play about 270 in 2 hours, made especially tough by the fact that I had just finished a session without really taking a break. Well...






And Ruse, you're right--it does feel good to push through and reach a goal, even under these circumstances. Now obviously I'm kind of irked by how horribly I'm running. It's totally gross. The fact is, though, that I can't control that. I'm much more mad at myself for having a -1.3% ROI. Sure, it's still a profitable redline with RB, but I'm definitely a winner pre RB at these stakes. There's no doubt in my mind. On the 1st it was just laziness and autopiloting on my part. Today, it was having to play way more games/hour than are optimal for me. I need to simply stop putting myself in that situation. To do this, I need to be proactive, and get ahead of my 600 games/day pace. This is why I'm gonna take a short break and then get right back at the tables. Try to have at least 2500 games in, if not 2600, so that I have a reasonable work load for tomorrow. In fact, I think by Friday I want to be a minimum of one full day ahead. No more being lazy!

Will I ever get equity "justice"? I mean, gosh, since I bought this desktop back in late October, I'm like $4000 below EV. ABI of $7. It's really nuts.
