It's better than Ongame, yes, but if modified thoroughly Ongame is decent too. LA stands for LuckyAcePoker (another 888-skin) I guess.

GL with ur goal!
Thanks! If i was playing more tables id prob learn how to mod them. I dont mind for 6~ tables tho. The only thing that makes ongame stand out as the worst for me is no timebank and id assume theres no way around that.

Work really hard away from the tables. Invest all the time and money you can in every resource (assuming poker is your fulltime job). Training sites, Reveiwing your HEM, Coaching, Posting hands, Comparing stats with other good players. Anything you can think of that can have a posative impact for your game. Most people are grinding more tables than they should and playing more hours than they should, when theyd likely move up faster playing less tables and investing more time in studying instead of playing.

Thanks. One more question.

Will mid stakes always be beatable? Or will there be a point in the future when everyone plays so optimally that it will become non-profitable?

No clue but my guess would be itll always be proffitable at every stake. Even if theres 5 regs playing flawless poker, they will still share the money lost by the fish. There will always be recreational players/fish willing to give gamble.

Subbed, really interesting stuff, OP.

How are you liking where you're living at so far? Do you think it's a nice environment to be a full-time poker pro or would you prefer where you used to live/grind? Also, along the same lines. If this all works out and you get back to the same exact place you were pre-BF poker-wise, would you say all in all BF was a good thing that allowed you to venture out of your comfort zone and find a new place to live and continue your profession?

Those are good questions. It has its good and bad sides to it. The appartment is a basement appartment and its kinda small, but im here with friends which is fun. I started some excercise classes a few days ago which makes things here a little more rounded. Its already getting cold tho so im kind of dreading the winter.

Black friday deffinetly does give a really good reason to go live somewhere that i wouldnt have. Im planning on amsterdam once my stay in canada ends, unless poker is back to the US.

In these spots my range has been 100% hands that i want to get slim value with, 0% the nuts, and 0% bluffs. Im getting away with it and getting snapped by lesser hands who i guess are just happy not to be facing a big bet and have to make a decision, but what im doing really shouldnt fly, and i dont think it will as poker evolves. There are a few other things i think will change but thats one that really comes to mind.
I wonder if that's just the site you're playing on, because at midstakes on Stars there are plenty of regs who will 3bet from blinds vs UTG with say 78s etc. Also if I see a guy always betting small for value on the river it's definitely going in my notes as something like "likes to vbet small on riv" until I see him bet small to induce or bluff. I'm pretty sure lots of people do the same also.. in fact if I see you bet river 1/3pot 6 times with various kinds of hands I might note it something like "bet riv 1/3pot 4 times for value once bluff once to induce"... ;-)

But hey maybe that's jus' me.. ;-)

And like durrrr said, if he's in their position, "it's OK to call, but it's much better to raise..."

Amsterdam is very expensive and I actually find it one of the least relaxing places ever to smoke weed... elsewhere in Netherlands you also get coffeeshops(if that's what you're going for..) but much more relaxing.

Personally if I was to relocate to Europe for online poker I'd just go to London...

Sounds like your ahead of the game. Im not saying there arent regs capeable of all kinds of awesome things, but i find lots of spots in sessions where i notice i can get away with things that i dont think i should be able to vs a good amount of regs.

Really? I visited amsterdam for the cannibus cup (big letdown) a bout 2 years ago and really enjoyed the city. Never checked out london. When i have more money and the time comes, i may visit a few places like that and make a clearer choice.

Ive been meaning to make a post about poker for the past day or so but ive been really busy. I started taking some exercizing classes and deiting and its taking up a lot of my time since im trying to still get in a lot of hands. Ill post some interesting hands tomarrow or sunday.

I'd be interested to hear about your life actually.. no details that you don't want to let on, but just things like how canada compares to your life in the U.S. pre-BF, whether you feel lonely, are you socializing with other poker ex-pats, does anyone up there know about you posting this thread on 2p2, how you feel about the upcoming Canadian winter, etc etc..

cool.

It has its ups and downs. I like my roomates here, and its fun living with friends. pre black friday i was living with my ex-girlfriend, so its a bit of a different lifestyle. a little more freedom. a few blacked out nights/days lol. We have a bar and a brewhouse within walking distance, and the tourist area about 5 minutes driving away, so there is stuff to do.

Canada gets a bit lonely sometimes. a few days ago i started some exersize classes to get some more interaction with people. Ill probubly try to do a few more things like that to round out my days.

Im kind of dreading winter here, but im sure everyone else is too. Ive been talking with some friends about spending january in vegas to split it up.

Poker update: I just made it to $50,000. Im going to take the night off and start tomarrow with some 3/6 and 5/10. My plan is to move down if i drop back to $45,000. At the end of the graph my EV kind of drops off. I dont know if its variance or something, but i kind of feel like somethings off. If i continue not to make EV for another 10,000 hands or so ill prob do some major review or something. Till then i guess ill just enjoy running well.

Awesome thread. Thanks for sharing this with 2+2. You definitely seem bound to reach your goal.

Questions: How often are your withdrawing? You said you have some other financial obligations to tend to. Debt? Rent? Bills? Do you ever withdraw to treat yourself every now and then?(Have a nice night out/dinner? New TV or clothes or something?)

GLGLGL buddy.

WTF u talking about, winter is the bestest! Just go buy some skates and a hockey stick and be like a good canadian.
By winter I mean ice, snow, pretty much no sun-light and -10C (14F) avg. temperature for 3-4 months. That's what it's like in Finland at least and I love it.

I assume that your roommates are also poker pros?

The area you described sounds like a place I spent a little time at just after Black Friday before the WSOP... won't out it but I found it pretty boring there lol... and with the winter coming up if I'm not mistaken about where it is then you'll enjoy it... I mean it snowed there even on May 1st!!!

But the colder it is, the more you'll be staying inside grinding...

why are you so concerned with your ev line? I get that in some ways its closer to your actual win rate than your earnings are but at the same time its only one facet of your game, right?

plus you just came off a pretty variance free upswong, its gotta normalize right?
