Where to start,

Well I have had little success playing poker, final tabling some small MTT's for a few hundred buck scores have been my biggest accomplishment in poker.

Ive never really grinded more dabbled in a bit of everything thats interested me. Before playing online poker I have had success with live and made a tidy sum before having to start paying out bills etc so dont have the extra money to play at the higher limits.

So I will be using this thread to keep me concentrated and hopefully move forward as a cash game player.

I deposited $15 and currently at $34.41, and playing 2nl zoom

I will aim for silverstar next month and will hopefully be taking shots at 5nl by the end of next month.

Ill make note tomorrow when I play another session of interesting hands, and ill post them here,

My strat at the minute is really simple, playing as much in position as possible, playing premium hands, and trying to minimize calling OOP with marginal hands that when we connect with on the flop are still crushed, AT, KQ, KJ etc.

Thoughts behind this hand were,
Preflop - limped to me so raising IP and picking up dead money, 3 callers
Flop - good flop for a continuation bet, bet over half pot, dont want to commit to calling turn by betting to big, and if i miss my draw,
Turn - dream card really, now value bet turn, call his all in, his range is most likely top pair with big club.
River - Blank.

Preflop - making standard button raise with top 50% of my range
Flop - Follow a standard continuation bet,
turn - gives me a 2nd nut flush draw as well as few 2 pair combos and set, but dont want to bet this as a). fold out everything that i beat b). I can call a bet if i check
c). i dont want to be raised as i will have to fold.
River - Ad, he bets out over1/3 pot, i just 3x for value and get 2 pair combos maybe Ax to call. but instead he puts his self all in. bingo.

Off to bed now, will be grinding tomorrow. Look forward to reading some advice and guidance about my hands in the morning.

SB v BB hand:

Usually SB will fold to 3bet being oop when he doesn't have a hand going for a blind steal. A 4x raise isn't really that necessary, popping it up to 18c is fine. When he shoves, I think readless you have to fold. His range for AI 4betting likely consists of AKo+, AKs+ QQ+. In this case, you're only getting in as a slight favourite against the bottom of his range, and he's got you crushed against the top part of his range. And of course, with this being zoom, ranges are going to be tighter, so this is more trouble for you.

7c, 9c flush hand:

Try not to be results oriented. I think that you were a bit results oriented in my opinion when determining his range. I think that his range will usually not consist of overpairs considering PF action. Aces and kings will almost always raise in that situation, and queens might flat or raise (villain dependent, although its probably a raise considering the action pre. On the flop, I think any overpair will usually raise the flop getting value off your hand (flush draw), any J Broadway, and other random hands fish might be interested in. JJ is obviously raising. The villain in this hand played his hand very poorly, and overpairs with the big club will almost never be in his range. I think a likely hand for the villain would be AcJx, but making a range for him would be impossible without stats or notes on our opponent.

Plans on turn if a blank comes?

Well done so far, what are your plans for bankroll management?

Yeah i hated the JJ hand. The 97cc hand, even though almost readless i still try extract a range and still had him around Ac/Kc wth Jx. But yes flatting AA in the small blind was poor. Sorry for my poor explanation about his range. If the turn doesnt give me any more outs then am just giving up, unless he checks or his bet is small giving me some odds to call.

In terms of BR I've got like 21 BI's now so in a very comfortable range now, just to keep working on up with little risk. I plan to move up to start incorporating a table of 5nl at $75 and full move up at $125

Regarding tables I am sticking with 2 tables of zoom for the time being, maybe increase later into june.

Well things have been going good, feel as this is helping me alot to concentrate on grinding and keeping my full concentration.

So I've sold a few items that I had lying around and decided to top my bankroll to $120 and move up to 5nl, I've played this in the past and pretty much no difference to 5nl really, still so soft.

Well profit at 2nl was +$34 over 7k hands

So will start fresh at new limit.

I've re adjusted my goals for for may

+$100 profit
start playing 10nl somewhere towards end of month

Have to wait 24 hours to increase my table limits to 5nl, so going to play some 2nl PLO for a bit to pass the time, may play a few micro MTT's.

Working on my mindset aswell as reviewing alot of my HH from 2nl.

I think to myself how do i call there or how can i fold there but i tell myself practice and preparation makes perfect.
