Think the QQ on K,10,10,K is a pretty clear check.

I just think they have napkins the vast majority of the time here and are more likely to put more money into the pot if you check. Fish don't like checking down garbage in 3 bet pots and will throw out the desperado bluff a surprisingly high amount of the time.

This was a while ago now, but I now completely agree yes its a very clear check against super loose fish, rather than a small 1/4-1/3 bet.

So I went out on a nice little drunken £1/£1 tour with Parsons Grinder and GrimIsCool on Friday!

The idea was to go to The Vic or The G (the only room that offer £1/£1); unfortuantely it was all but impossible to get a seat on the same table at these places so we spent most of our time at The Empire. We ran into HU4Hoes as well, so it was pretty cool having a bunch of 2+2ers all in one place.

Despite about 10 drinks in I think I must've played like 3 hands in total, so not really any hands to go into detail with.

After a while we went up to the Hippo and tried to find a £5/£10 mixed game which they didn't want to set up (so much for any game, any time eh). So we sat on a fairly spuddy £2/£5 for a while until it was pretty much just me remaining.

Eventually it came down to me, a massive spud and another semi-pro guy playing 3 handed (basically the dream). In these kind of games you can basically just complete ATC vs the spud, and minraise the BTN with any two cards. The semi-pro guy played decent, but it was incredible to see him fold so much when he's a) Deep with the Spud b) Getting like 5:1 in the BB.

I ended up cashing out about £1200 in profit after a couple of big hands which was nice, and left about 10am when the game closed. Not a bad night!

Nice session! Must play some more live cash at some point. I think it's cool there's a lot of 2+2ers who play often in live games here.

Action seemed much better than it has recently been this Friday in the Hippodrome - I was there too and playing in a 1-2 game with most people pretty deep and a few of us managed to get the majority of the table drinking/partying and ended up with a game that played pretty wild both pre and postflop with way more action than has been usual recently.

Yeah as I always say, don't see why you don't play live cash ; ) And yeah was pretty sweet, cant remember if I said but HU4Hoes was at emps as well which was p cool.

I can't remember very much tbh, but the £1/£2's at 7am or so looked pretty good, esp Table 3 IIRC.

General Update

Haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd make an update.

I ended up playing a really good £1/£3 on Friday. Lots of spots, great atmosphere, probably 8.5/10 in game quality for sure.

Unfortunately I didn't run great in terms of all-ins, with some dirty bet folds, and put on a ton of straddles/double straddles (probably a leak, but when 3 spots are on your right it really can't be too -EV as in general I think solid players play too tight in EP when they're on).

With all that being said, I was never card dead, I played pretty well in basically all my hands (except 1, that lead to me calling it a day relatively soon), everyone was super chill including the regs, so I was happy to take the £400 on the chin for a game that played more like a £3/£6 if anything.

I went up the Hippo after that game broke, and managed to get most of it back; that said it was a mistake as I was absolutely exhausted and was restless if anything being card-dead for basically all of it, after being on a card-(heater??) at The Vic.

I'm off to LA for about 10 days this Friday, so will probably be checking out Commerce and The Bike for most of it. Going to meet a bunch of London grinders who are out there doing there thing, but for me will be a fun mix of nightlife and poker.

I bagged my flight for £350 return, accomodation like $40/day (bit budget nonetheless), so would recommend making the trip to anyone like myself going out there. Hopefully will take some photos as well!
