Good point. No need to go full yolo. I have $75 on DK right now. If I bust it I'll redeposit like $500. I'm going to keep it aggressive until I run it up or need to redeposit.

February went very well. I didn't play much at all. Only 15k hands. I did have my largest pot ever for $850 at 200NL 6max.

February Graph:

I crushed Zone 100 last month for 14 buyins. Pleased with how I played last month given the low volume and fact that I didn't tilt all that much.

        Hand 1 call turn
        Hand 2 fine
Hand 3 Bet turn. Giving a free card here is pretty bad when both guys call your flop raise imo. Possibly b/f depending on opponents tendencies. Turn bet doesn't have to be huge tho.

1st hand if we flat turn and V jams non A/K river are we calling? That is the thing I can't figure out. Our hand is an overcard bluff catcher at that point. Keep in mind my games are more passive than yours so I could see c/c 3 streets here at higher stakes being standard. I really don't know about this spot.

pretty sure JJ is a clear call if not a jam in hand 1.

I'm open to criticism and I know these games play different than I am used to. I normally play full ring or Zone and only recently started playing 200NL. In 100NL FR I am seeing QQ+ here over 80% of the time. Same for 200FR.

I suppose this particular spot given that the table just started + CO vs BU dynamic + being 6max this is a situation where I should be calling down much lighter than I would in a slightly different situation.

Hand 1 def call turn than evaluate river. A lot of hands worse are double barrelling especially when 2nd heart comes in

Played really well today. I played a bit too long and got hungry and made some errors toward the end. One hand went like this:

200 6max. Hero has nit image.

80/60 opens UTG, 2 passive fish flat
Hero makes it $25 on BU with AJ
UTG snap calls, one MP flats

        Flop : K74r
        Hero bets $24 into $70ish
        UTG calls mp folds
        Turn:5 bringing backdoor flush
Hero checks behind and gives up figuring his UTG range has kings which are never folding as an 80/60
        V shows down 88

If I'm not barreling off that card and jamming rivers I should probably not be squeezing and just flat hands like AJ on the button. That's what I normally do since I don't like bluff jamming turns/rivers. I get snapped by junk too often, even with a nit image.

Other than that I played well. Laid down QQ to a maniac on a 994dd5Ad board HU. Might have been +EV to jam turn. He insta check raised OTF and bombed turn/river. I'm still cringing a bit short handed stacking off with these sort of hands. I am used to playing very tight in zone and FR, but I am slowly getting more comfortable.

Yeah calling turn JJ is super standard. He's not gonna triple barrel every time. He's not gonna have QQ+ every time either. And about 1-20 times river is coming J also. Sometimes he'll give up river. Sometimes he'll continue and bluff off his chips to you. Sometimes you'll get owned by AA. It's part of the game.

Do some work away from the table on ranges. What ranges are 3 betting you co vs btn? What's his range for betting 2 streets here? Ect ect. Try to figure out what the population does in these spots for when you're readless. Good luck bud.

Solid 200FR and some 200 6max session. Played solid and I am definitely slowly getting more accustomed to short handed play.

I'm gonna put in a session tomorrow night but have some school work to do during the day.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. Later!

Played great tonight. Lost a 73/27 preflop HU for stacks but managed to recover it.

I've got a bunch of school work to do this week so I'm going to try and get it done in the next few days so I have no stress next weekend.

I've been posting a bunch of HH's you can check them out in my recent posts.

Well I am out of commission for the near future. My laptop is basically fried. The good news is that even though it is 5 years old, there was a major flaw in my 2011 Macbook Pro and they are repairing the issue until the end of this year for free. Basically my laptop just shuts down now and has major graphic issues. Hopefully they fx this ASAP.

I had the exact same problem with my MacBook. It's a rare problem that occurred only in that model and they fixed mine for free last year as well and fixed anything that wasn't "like new" for free as well.

Good to know they took care of you.

I am confident they will fix this but unfortunately the Apple stores down here in FL are impossible to get into. Every appointment is booked for a week and the walk-in wait times are a minimum of a few hours. So I won't have this taken care of until early next week at the earliest. Fortunately I can still boot into OS X but it is shutting down too frequently to try and play any poker. I'll be studying a bit of runitonce this week and getting caught up on school stuff.

Crushing that iPad 1 table! The BR has officially peaked. Although I don't like to think of it like that anymore. I am playing well and my roll is increasing. The number on any given day is not significant nor should I be concerned with it.

It should be about 7 days until I get my laptop back from Apple. They agreed to fix it but it has to be sent out for repairs.

I'll be playing live on Saturday with a family friend. I'll keep you guys posted with how that goes.

Unfortunately lost with KK in a 3bet pot on 335r vs 87 in one of the worst plays I've ever seen before. Tilted me quite a bit and ended up -300 for the day at 100NL zone on my iPad. He turned a straight draw with the 6 and overbet jammed and i called him off. River 9. I'm gonna not play until my laptop is back and I can go back to 4 tabling with a HUD.

I'm new on 2+2, and really liked your updat!

I'm in the similar situation and wanna make a serious shot online. Some advice about downswings?

Are you still playing MTT since you start NL100? Could be very profitable no?

        Hey, thanks bro!

In terms of general advice, downswings are something you are going to need to get used to. I am not the person you should be emulating when it comes to downswing management. When I start downswinging I play a more aggressive style which only increases variance even more. This is definitely something you want to avoid doing. It is also easy to think you are playing your A game when downswinging and everything that is happening is because you are running bad. I have noticed that I make more errors when I am stuck. It's almost always a combo of running bad and then playing bad as a result of running bad.

If you are following strict, proper BRM then downswings should really not matter.

I am not playing many MTTs at all anymore. I personally think MTTs are the better option prior to 200NL cash if you can put in the volume. MTT players are worse, especially on non USA sites.

MTTs are definitely very profitable all the way to the high stakes. You just need proper bankroll management, patience, and volume.

Just got back from playing live 1/2 with some friends.

Ended up +60 after about 2 hours of play.

Was a lot of fun playing with some family friends who were complete and total whales. My friend got accused of slowrolling by a group of guys when he legitimately had a decision to make and has never really played poker in his life before. Bunch of idiots berating an obvious mega whale. Fortunately my friend took down a huge pot vs the guy.

There was not a player on the table whose hand I did not basically know by the river. Live players are so ridiculously easy to put on ranges based upon their actions.

I have a friend who may chop action in future 2/5 games so I may be playing a bit more live on the weekends. Will keep you guys posted.

Should get my laptop back around Thursday. Until then I'll be taking it easy and getting caught up on schoolwork.

        Goodnight!

If anyone has suggestions on a good ergonomic chair under $500 please let me know. I am having back problems from sitting all day on a cheap wooden chair in front of the computer. I have poor posture after hours at the computer and end up hunching over. I need something to force me into a solid posture.

The $1k+ chairs like the Herman Miller's are an option if I can find one used locally. I'd rather get used actually if it's in good condition. But I have no way to know which model/size I need without trying them beforehand. According to the HM site at 5'11" 140lbs I would be a "B".
