Played a bit of 25nl-50nl today and bumhunted a whale at 100 which didn't work out too well, I got a pounding headache so I'm gonna call it quits for today. Roll peaked at $750 but I finished down about $50. Had to withdraw $100 for living expenses and my table tamer subscriptions about to expire, also planning to buy joey ingrams new book its only $10

roll: $532
withdrawals: $100

thanks, and I prefer not to mention my location because theres a fairly tight poker community here and I don't want people to find out I'm busto, but I can post about expenses. Currently my monthly living expenses look something like this:

rent+utilities: $175-$225
food: $150-$225

I highlight 'living' because this is just pure survival expenses, which I can resort to. Say I smoke that would run me another $75-100/month, and if I go out once a week it might be another $75-$100. This is close to the bare minimum anyone can really live off of where I am. Though other than the past month I would usually end up spending like 600-700usd/month, and when I was doing well I would be spending like 1200-1500 (sometimes more than that) in the same country so I'm really cutting it tight right now.

I forgot I had this, this was a similar spot towards the end of last year, I think I'll make create another one of these sample sheets and post it ITT at the end of the month to reduce the amount of posts I make here and it'll be more organized that way/kept better track of and will probably post graphs also

Played some 100nl this weekas well as a 200nl session, roll peaked at $1600 but currently at $608.

I feel like I'll be okay from here on out (in terms of not going busto), so I'm gonna finish this thread here. I just started a new thread today that will be oriented more around money/life management as well as my overall progression and I won't be spamming the thread as much as I do here.

feel free to follow :

So following my loose shot taking strategy/along with a pretty nice heater I was able to go from my original $32 roll to $3500 in a little over a month, I withdrew about $900 in the past month so my rolls only at $2600~.

This is since the start of this thread, def could've played more hands but was procrastinating early on when I was grinding unl stakes, and yea pretty nice heater haha

this is since this year on the same site

I was actually going to say something, but there's not much point because he won't listen. He will lose his money somehow. Degens always do.

For a start, it looks like he's using poor bankroll management. It also looks like he's on a massive heater - that won't last. This isn't such an issue if poker isn't your main income, but for him it is. One big downswing will wipe him out and he won't be able to pay the bills or put food on the table.

Seems like a bad idea to prop bet with someone that would be busto if they lose the prop

prop bet? I use a loose shot taking strat but I still move down when I have to, I've been following my brm strat which I posted at the beginning of this thread for the most part with a few exceptions. I had a -1k downswing during this challenge and was moving down accordingly.

I can use a BRM like this cause my mental game is impeccable, you have very weak mental game which is why you need like 40bis to move up

I'd give him 2-1 up to 4k that in a year from now I'll not only not be busto but have a decent 5 figure roll

If he agrees to it I'll escrow in 2 months up to 4k (so his max bet would be 2k), 2-1 that I'm not busto and have a 5 figure roll. If I have less than 5 figures I pay him 2-1, but doubt he'd put his money where his mouth is

there's a reason for his being called DegenPhilosophy

haha I'm really not that much of degen, I also only play poker fwiw. People learned the whole 40bi rule early on when they started playing poker and when someone shot takes with 10bis its so foreign for them they just automatically classify it as 'being a degen'.

Heres a thread I wrote about the difference between shot taking and BRM

10 bi shots are absolutely fine if you're confident you beat the stakes at a decent clip.

You just need the mental game to move back down if you drop a couple bi's...

Its a huge mistake grinding out 25+ bi's to shot a stake you beat easily/crush.

so this is my spreadsheet for the past week or so, I'll post this once a month or maybe every 2 weeks, I'm planning to compete in the rake race for May so I'll try to put in more volume, I'll see where I stand like 2 weeks in then decide if its worth me continuing to play more tables, I think getting 130k hands would be pretty good next month, I only got in 50k this month but was more focused on game selection rather than volume. 130k is a bit much but I've done it a couple times before so I'll give it a shot.

Slacked off a bit on working out, on my 'non-workout' days I still did a couple of dumbbell curls and whatnot but don't really consider that a real workout so I'll be looking to stay on track with that also this month
