Rich, I played 5/5 at the Commerce tonight but I didn't see you Crazy how good the action is. Six 5/5 games going on a nice sunday afternoon (and two 5/10) I was the only reg at my table, and basically every flop went 5-6 ways even when raised 7x pre. You should be cleaning up dude

I recently got a letter from my friend in jail. He's been in OC jail for almost 2 years for attempted 1st degree murder. Apparently he stabbed his girlfriend. That's my guess I'm not sure what he actually did but apparently it was bad enough to be categorized attempted murder. But my friend is not a bad person. I mean I'm not saying anybody deserves to be stabbed or anything, but his girlfriend was a real bwitch. The first time that I met her she and my other 2 friends were going to go out to a bar and I was chilling playing online poker and she started flirting with me and saying she would stay there(with me) and the other 2 guys should go out. And my friend would tell me stories about her flirting with other guys at bars, everywhere, etc. And she was not a nice person in general. The only other time that I saw her she got mad and was yelling and she was just an unpleasant person. She insulted my friend and was just generally disrespectful to him. And my friend's mom died when he was 16 and his dad went crazy and became a homeless alcoholic whose whereabouts are unknown presumed dead. He basically became isolated from everybody but his toxic girlfriend.

I've written to him and I've visited him a few times and spent $100 on jail phone calls before I told him that was too much. I feel bad for the guy. If I was his judge I'd let him out right now, I know that he's not a danger to society and that 2 years is plenty. He says he's looking at maybe 5-7 years depending. What good does that do? When I've gone to see him in jail I enjoy talking to him and I know he gets a lot out of it. He's really honest and he's said he's in the white power gang and they do sets of pushups together and after every 5 pushups they shout "SWP!" which stands for "Supreme white power!" Also he said he's done heroin and suboxin and crystal meth. Apparently they got all kinds of drugs in jail. So yeah, I think I'm gonna drive down to OC jail and give this guy a visit sometime soon. Sucks that he couldn't have got locked up in LA's jail Twin Towers. I've visited another friend there.

Dude, I hope you’re a millionaire this time next month and your living situation and daily activities seem like a dream for a free spirited individual. I more felt sorry for you for being on the defensive like you need to prove yourself to the world. Just thinking maybe you were picked on for being small or people didn’t give you the credit you thought you deserved for your intelligence growing up and you formed a bit of a complex about it but anyway man, nothing but the best wishes for you here.

And for those unaware, when you go to jail, you have to join a gang. That aint some joke, not joining is not an option. If you're white you join the white supremacy gang or you get assraped.

this guy rich checkmaker, hes a real piece of work. he gave me all kinds of **** in a different 2+2 thread and said i was dangerous due to innocent comments on my blog a couple months ago about wishing i could kill certain types of people, something of course id never do since im nonviolent. i think it was mainly because i support trump and hes a really big liberal. i was just having a bad day. even the prosecutor agreed, and wouldnt file charges so i got released after 72 hours or so.

You deserved to be locked up because making those statements show you were a danger at the time and it's good that you learn there are negative repercussions for your acting out like that. I'm glad you're not languishing in jail and hopefully learned your lesson and you need to focus on improving your life and not putting yourself in situations where you would become agitated or violent. Because you claim to be non violent but non violent people don't post on the internet about wanting to kill random happy people. You sir are a violent person who thus far restrains himself from acting out on his violent impulses because you are aware that its not worth it. Plenty of violent dangerous people get released so the prosecutor dropping charges doesn't automatically you are not dangerous. I wouldn't want to be around you.

My friend says he wasn't trying to kill anyone. Never said he was my best friend. Had you been in jail for more than 72 hours you'd have had to join a gang too. And I don't think it hurts me to be friends with him and I think that I can help him by continuing to be his friend so that's what I'm going to do. And I didn't stab anyone so how am I a hypocrite? Ok that makes sense. I'll try to be less defensive. Like I'm sure everybody will think I'm a pos for having a friend in jail on attempted murder like I'm the one who did it. I could abandon him as a friend and just never tell anybody that I ever knew anybody who did something like that if I cared. So if I am defensive about something like that it's more that I'm trying to explain the nuisance of something rather than try to be defensive. Because if it really bothered me what people think then I wouldn't post anything in the first place. But I like to post the sensational parts and then fill in the details later. I'm not perfect. I care what people think. I don't want you guys to think I'm a bad person. But ultimately it doesn't really matter.

I think being available for your friend is not a bad thing. Circumstances are relevant to the events that have occurred and society would crumble if we turned out backs on everyone who has made mistakes. Even serious ones.

However, I disagree that the only option a person has is join a gang or get raped in prison. I worked with prisoners, in and out, for several years. Granted, this was in Texas and not in California. I know there are some rough places out there. That being said, there are particular mentalities that lead one to join gangs, just as there are those that make people fear rape to the point of joining racist gangs. I believe, certainly my most humble opinion, that joining a gang in prison is mostly a cop out. There are options. Not necessarily easy options, but options nonetheless.

If there is a good spot to practice not being defensive, it would be with TBC.

I also went through a few phases of my view of Rich. Right now, I find him pretty funny. When he goes off the rails a bit I tend to be patient. He seems to do a lot of self reflection and owns up to the things he says and does that offend (maybe that's not the wrod) people. Self reflection is not a very common trait in people, and it is one I certainly admire.
