Won the thousandaire tonight, lost the 1k, call it a wash. Fired two bullets in the monthly milly on Sunday and didn't cash somehow. So we're 7/9 for the year now I think.

Thanks, I think I'd do okay. Need to start eating my wheaties, working out, and maybe take some martial arts classes like jiu jitsu. I've wanted to be a police officer since I was a kid. I would watch Rescue 911 with my mom and grandma when I was a kid. And my grandma asked me then what I would do if I were a cop and pulled her over for speeding and I said I'd arrest her, take her to jail, and lock her up. She said "Oh so you'd throw the book at me?" and I said "I wouldn't throw no book at you grandma." Also there are other options besides LAPD that wouldn't be as dangerous. But somebody's gotta do it. And I want to help people.

When I was 10 we were playing a game at recess called suicide where you would throw a tennis ball at a wall and if it bounced off and hit you without you catching it everyone could punch you until you ran and touched the wall. One kid took exception to being punched by someone for some reason and started wailing on him and soon he was on top of him punching him in the face. It took me half a second to see that no one else was doing anything before I ran over and shoved this bully off the other kid, he stood up and squared off and then punched me right in the face, cutting me in the soft skin right above the eye. I didn't punch him back and that was the end of it. We both got the same exact punishment, in school suspension. The school had a zero tolerance policy about fighting which obviously was extremely unfair to me as I literally just pushed someone off another kid and then got punched in the face. I wish I could go back in time and give that principal a piece of my mind.

It wasn't a rant, I just calmly explained how the democrats were making the vaccine political during the election and how it's sad both parties would try to politicize the virus.

And I was educating people that the unvaccinated aren't the reason we have a surge in variants. If anyone cares to learn just google "mass vaccinating into a pandemic". Basically the vaccinated give vaccine resistant strains and more infectious strains an evolutionary competitive advantage. I'm not anti-vax, but when you say anything remotely against this vaccine the cult comes out and attacks you. People can't think for themselves.

Weren't you a van delivery driver before? Statistically that's a lot more dangerous than being a cop so I wouldn't worry. Just stay healthy and buckle up because most police deaths are suicides and the majority of the others are from not wearing a seatbelt.

Though if you want to help people I would find a different line of work.

Thanks =D. Never a van delivery driver, just a bus driver. And there's nothing short of tremendous chronic never ending pain that would make me want to kill myself so that's not a worry. I don't like wearing my seatbelt though, but I will.

Bomb Pot!

Hero SB ($433) J2os
Villain (VegetablesArentYummy) CO (covers) AJos
-Played about 700 hands or so with this guy. He's pretty tight and not very aggressive.

Blinds $2/$4 on ACR bomb pot table so every 15mins or so everyone puts in $16(4bb) blind and goes to a flop. This is one of those bomb pots.

Flop ($128) J92hhx

8 way bomb pot. We check looking to put in the check raise, everyone else checks to the cutoff who bets $35.50, btn folds and we jam for $417, everyone else folds back to the cutoff who calls. I decide to run it twice for the first time in my life because I'm a f$cking p$ssy. We hold on both runouts and scoop a $959 pot.

I really like the bomb pot tables on ACR. It creates spots that people haven't studied thoroughly and I think with my poker intuition it benefits me. I've done pretty well so far.

F**k tournaments though. I effing hate them. Didn't play any yesterday and won ~1k at cash. None today so far and I'm up about ~1k today so far. I just hate losing so much that normal tourney variance really bothers me. I want to be winning enough in cash games consistently to offset normal tourney variance. So if my EV for a day of cash games is ~200 or whatever I don't want to be playing that much more in tournaments so I at least feel like I'm not going downhill. I pretty much want to play 3 tournies a day (except Sunday). The $55 30k guaranteed on Iggy because that's really good value and losing a few buy-ins there won't bother me too much. The $88 50k guaranteed Loncar mega stack on ACR for the same reasons. Also bigger field tournies like that are going to be worth it when we do bink. And of course the $82 thousandaire maker on Iggy. That's basically no variance at all because my ROI is so damned high in it. And since all the prizes are the same that also reduces the variance. My ROI has to be close to (if not over) 100% in that damn tourney. I just own the field in that thing. I'm not the best cash player or the best tourney player but I might be the best satellite player.

Kaboom

Hero SB (covers) A5os
Villain 1 MP ($161) 55
Villain 2 CO ($200) 42os

Another bomb pot

Flop ($69) 432r

We check, checks to villain 1 who bets $25, villain 2 calls and we call.

Turn ($144) Ks

We check, villain 1 jams $128, villain 2 jams $167 and we call. Our hand holds and we scoop. Easy game.

Turned Into A Bluff

Hero LJ (covers) AKos
Villain UTG+2 ($211) ??

Villain opens to $6, we 3bet to $18, only villain calls.

Flop ($37.05) AKQhhh

Villain checks, we bet $12 and villain calls.

Turn ($59.85) 2h

We both check.

River ($59.85) 2x

Villain bets $29.93 and we jam for ~$181 effective and villain folds.

You had a good year. How much work did you put in this year to make that amount of money?

Your the best satellite player? Mate you could make $30000 a year just playing the thousandaire once a day every day with your ROI in it with 0% chance of loss. Don't believe me? look up poker dope varience caculator the old version for satalites with 7 places paid.

Could you play it every day and actually have a 100% roi? I don't think so. But thats just guaranteed income for you if your that good and have the work ethic also others just sucking your balls. Personally I don't believe anyone is close to 100% ROI over a 300 sample in that particular tournament. And they ain't got a higher ROI either IMO. If I was able to do it I wouldn't even bother playing cash games or tournaments other than that 1 tournament everyday and have part time employment looking to purchase perhaps some sort of property since you got a 6 figure liferoll allready for downpayment. You could probably buy something in vegas and be able to play poker all the time when you want there with a 20k starting roll 10k-20k liferoll and actually have a mortgage and a house instead of living at your grandmas. And you also have this 30k a year income coming in because your the best at satalites.

The skill gap in the thousandaire maker is huge. In the early stages there are so many people that are just donking around and getting it in with very weak hands 100bb deep no ante. And when the tournament gets to the later stages people play way too tight or way too loose. There are spots where you just need to not even look at your cards and jam all-in and people are folding. Or they're calling it off in spots where they should be folding AA preflop. I might not have 100% roi in the thousandaire but it's gotta be really close. I'd bet my life against a dozen donuts that I'm over 50% ROI in that tourney for sure though.

Yeah I probably should have bought a house in Las Vegas when bitcoin was 64k or whatever the peak. Then it dropped precipitously and I lost my ass, like 150k. Maybe I should just cash out now and buy some real estate but I feel like bitcoin will do well in the immediate future. No matter what I have enough to play poker. And why just play one cash satellite, that doesn't always run because only 8 will pre reg or whatever, when I could play cash games and just print money? I'm printing at cash games up to 200nl and probably 500nl too.

Honestly I still just want to have a regular job and I want to help people.

I just looked it up and villain had JJ with the jack of hearts. So we got him to fold the nut flush.

I did pretty well tonight. Won a little over 1k, just played the three tourneys I mentioned earlier, the $55 nightly, the $88 loncar and the $82 thousandaire. Managed to avoid playing the $1055 tuesday mega buy-in or whatever it's called. Played a couple of tables of $2/$4 on ACR but only $1/$2 on iggy. Feeling pretty good about my play overall recently and I'm going to try to mix in more $2/$4 on ACR and $2/$5 on iggy. And if things go well maybe I'll even throw in some 5/10 and higher. I've sort of stagnated and played too long in 1/2 I feel like.

I'm pretty open and honest about my flaws, but I don't think your characterization of me is accurate. I'm actually a pretty chill, understanding, and patient person. Nobody is perfect though, and I can certainly do better moving forward. Thanks for the input.

Our brains are hardwired to feel good when we help people. And the world desperately needs good people who are willing to do law enforcement. I think you would be a good cop.

But would it make you happy enough to stick with it? You didn't like the earthquake retrofitting job because it was dirty and dangerous. As a cop how many times per year would you actually get to save people like you did when you were a kid versus all the time you would just be dealing with dangerous criminals with warrants and filling out paperwork?

I really think the perfect job for you would be truck driver. You could play online poker in your off time. Have you seen https://twitter.com/AlaskaGal1/with_replies ? Look at all her tweets and replies from about the last few months about free trucker school and the money they make. You could do the same thing.

There are also probably YouTube vlogs about what the daily life of a police officer is really like, as well as trucker vlogs. Or maybe find threads on the r forum where police officers post and ask them what the job is really like? I think you have the movie version in your head but the real life version you would want to quit. But if you do it and succeed that's great.

Helping someone could be buying a loaf of bread from the supermarket or in ops case buying some weed from a drug dealer.

They help you giving you what you want and you help them by giving them what they want.

OP what is your purpose in life? You mission. And align everything towards completing that.

And your mission can't be to be with a hot chick lol. normally those hoes or hoe if you commit to her knock you off your purpose by you thinking you got to do what she wants. You can spend time with her but your purpose comes first. talked to a guy at the pub the other week about it and he was depressed because he couldn't provide for kids that ain't even his biologically. I said bro whats your purpose? and hes on about I want a family and what not. I said nah they ain't it. Then he started talking about a car he's working on. That car comes before women. He loves working on cars. He wants to complete that rebuild but delaying it because of this ****** hoe who wants her kids to have ipads and him believing that in order to be with her he has to do that ****. I told him just come home and go and work on your car.

He then hooked up with a fat chick on the street 20 mins later making out with her until a guy told us both to walk and then we drove down the main street with the stereo blasting and chicks looking at us and one was angry with me, came up to the car and I said to her your hot and she started smiling.

Yeah you could be right that I would probably get bored. But I think that would probably be true of any job I could do. I just get easily bored. I really wouldn't want to be a truck driver. I just don't like driving. Driving a bus for 8 hours a day was not fun. The one good redeeming part of that job was being able to interact with the passengers even if it was a small interaction. Take that away with truck driving and I feel like it would just be very isolating and depressing. I like being around people. Maybe more than being a police officer I'd like to be a detective. That would be a job that wouldn't be boring and I'd be able to help people by solving crimes. I don't know. But I could go back to school and get a degree in criminology or whatever it is that's relevant. But realistically I'm not sure any of this will happen I'm just mostly spitballing and thinking out loud. I should probably just stick to poker, buy a solver, study my ass off and try to play in bigger games and win as much money as possible.

My mission in life is to have a family. I feel like a loser being 35 single and childless. I feel like I've wasted a good portion of my life. But I also accept that this is my reality and I'm okay with it. As in I'm not depressed about my situation but wanting to change it. And I'm hopeful that I'll succeed and feel good about my chances. And if not, it's not the end of the world.

4 Way All-In

Hero UTG ($179) AA
Villain 1 UTG+1 (covers) TT
Villain 2 UTG+2 (covers) 64hh
Villain 3 BB ($95) 52dd

We limp UTG, villain 1 limps, villain 2 raises to $6, folds to BB who calls, we raise to $22 and all 3 call.

Flop ($85) 953r

Villain 3 jams $73, we call, villain 1 jams, villain 2 jams, and we call it off.

Turn is a 5 river is a blank, we lose the main pot but win the side pot for about ~$80 profit. Could have been worse.

Bomb Steal

$1/$2 bomb pot

Hero HJ ($200) K5cc

Flop ($69) T32hhx

Everyone checks.

Turn ($69) Qx

Everyone checks.

River ($69) Tx

Checks to us, we bet $48 and everyone folds. Easy game. Somehow people are playing these bomb pots both simultaneously too passive with nothing and overplaying one pair hands. It's crazy.
