Use that money to rent a bedroom somewhere. It will increase your life EV way more than sleeping in a van. It also shows that you are looking up, buying a van just shows that deep down you don't believe you are a winner. And can therefore not afford to rent a place and continue playing poker full time.
Get a bedroom in a shared house, shouldn't cost you more than 3/400 a month tops. Then take it from there.
Other than that I'm rooting for you hard buddy. I am down in the gutter with you so I know how it feels!

I may eventually get an apartment but for now I am happy saving money and buying cryptos instead.

I disagree it's defeatist. Seems pretty cost efficient. I personally could never live in a van, but if you're able to do that and be happy still, go for it, save yourself some $$$ through an investment instead of pouring your equity into rent. (obv I happily poor equity into rent but I can afford to, OP is living in the edge of being broke and should do everything in his power to try and achieve financial independence before anything else)
yeah for 500/month I could share a room with some random stranger, not be able to bring back a girl to the place anyway so whats the effing point?? I think a van is a good investment because even after I get an apartment I want to be able to travel to different casinos across the US and have a place to sleep for free.

I like hiking, going to sporting events. The dodgers are really hot right now and I also like watching LA Galaxy games too. I sent you a PM with my phone number if you want to go for a hike sometime. Text me.
