I want to do one thing differently from a lot of the other PGC's. And that's that I don't necessarily want to only post "big" hands with singular tough, agonizing decision points for a lot BB's. I think I want to focus more on theory and post hands that take a deeper look into the day-to-day spots and the theory/psychology behind them. In poker sometimes there is beauty in simplicity and that helps us build the foundation that the rest of our strategy relies on. Here's one example... let's discuss what cbet sizing we should opt for here given our range, villain's likely range, and positions (assuming villain is a reg):

IPoker, $5/$10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

    SB: $393.59 (39.4 bb)
    BB: $1,000 (100 bb)
    Hero (UTG): $1,157.50 (115.8 bb)
    MP: $950.50 (95.1 bb)
    CO: $1,692.72 (169.3 bb)
    BTN: $895 (89.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with T A
Hero raises to $25, 2 folds, BTN calls $25, 2 folds

    Flop: ($65) 6 8 T (2 players)
    Hero bets ???....

if villain is a fish ~50/15/15 how does that change our approach and why?

in theory we should almost never cbet this flop UTG vs BTN, but vs fish who is cold calling wide you can prob stab 1/3 half the time and check the other half

cold calling range are usually much tighter than opening ranges, you always want to play defensively, same reason we dont donkbet from BB when peeling, except on a few select boards, but all those middle-ish and low-ishunpaired boards you pretty much want to check range

against a std reg range this hand doesnt benefit that much from protection (most arent flatting stuff like kqo kjo here.) Most of his range can continue comfortably vs most 'normal' bet sizes here and he'll be able to guide his weaker made hands to SD pretty easily and town us with his sets. The board gets murky on a large number of turns for the bulk of our SD bound hands (Tx, JJ+.) I'd be checking here near 100% and with almost all of my range.

I don't think pio will have us cbetting much even vs more 'donkish' ranges. However, vs that 50/15 kinda guy I would opt to bet this particular combo pretty often as the donk will have a lot more fluff we can force a fold with like k5s with a bdfd, kjo, and he'll have a lot of pairs that have to pay off a bet here. I'd bet a larger size as if he has a pair or basically any gutshot (vast majority of combos are gutshot+at least one overcard) he'll call. mix bets with QQ JJ, mostly check KK AA. I'd mix raises and calls with all the checked overpairs. Unbalanced splitting prob works best against most transparent donks, so you could get away with betting 30% with stuff like 77 98 76 etc and going for a 75% bet with Tx+ kinda hands.

Live pro shot taking 500nl/1knl playing 10k hands a month is now some sick crusher at 2knl? I'll take "Things That Don't Add Up" for $1000 Alex

    Need I say more

What are you even talking about? You famously bowed out in tgigs thread when I proposed a prop challenge for higher wr playing 1knl. Of course I’ll put up any money vs your bunny weak reg booty hole

Funny thing is, I already made heaps off you on global. It’s too bad you are such a shameless bum hunter I was always doubly sad to see you snap leave along with the whale
